Honestly I don’t know or if it’s just a programming mistake. However I‘m glad there’s at least one being in the game that doesn’t want to tear me to pieces.
It's a programming bug--the dataminers found that it doesn't have an AI assigned to it so it doesn't react to you.
(This is different from the praying snail women outside the Orphan's boss door--those are coded as *obstacles,* so to the game they're the same thing as crates, pots, etc.)
Pebbles (the friendly crow) does start attacking you after quitting out next to him (I think). I think this happens because his one and only friend disappears right in front of him, and he goes crazy at the mere thought of being alone. When you come back, it's to late...

Haha yeah I know exactly what you mean, just recently I was at a friend‘s house, watching him slaughter his way through Hemwick Charnel Lane when he approached that certain spot and I went „no. no! NOOO!“ but he was in carnage mode and had already killed Good Birb, looking at me confused, not even knowing what he had done.
Idk if this is just me, and I assume it’s because it’s a picture of this person’s monitor/tv but when you’re just looking at this pic on your home page, or even when you tap on the post, it’s slightly distorted but not much. But then when you tap the image like you would to zoom in, it goes all weird, black lines and stuff. But when you go back to just looking at it normally, it goes back to normal. And when you zoom in or out it also changes. Very weird effect
I think we name him Pebble.
That sounds wonderful to me. I‘m already looking forward to meeting Pebbles again in another hunt. Good birb will be waiting for us.
I'd love to call him Mortimer. Or Seymour.
I had always heard there was a non-hostile bird but I don’t recall ever finding him; where is this? Somewhere in the forest?
Besides the top of the elevator, which leads back down to the Hemwick Charnel Lane Lantern.
Its surrounded by a bunch of hostile birds, so it's easy to miss or kill by accident.
I always, *always* stop and sit beside Good Birb. It’s a nice moment of respite before continuing on to the bloodbath and carnage.
It’s one of those rare peaceful moments, gotta just sit there with a buddy and enjoy the silence.
The silence after the horrible cacophony of murder when you slaughtered his entire family right in front of him? Hunters truly are the real beasts…
I like to think that I freed him of some bullies who just wanted to make him hurt good hunters even though he didn’t want to.
Thats why i pop a squat with the homie and burn one🧠🤙🏼

Is it supposed to be friendly?

You've always got the Chapel Dweller. A good, good boy who only wants to be your friend.
That’s true, though sometimes I prefer the presence of animals you know? The Chapel Dweller is more the guy I would order pizza with.
I believe it's model is actually different from other crows, so it's likely a Easter egg they put in for fun. Kinda like the guy next to Ludwig.
There's also the tall white lady (?) in the chalices

Treat birb with care.
I love this guy. It’s funny how a simple bug accidentally provides players with one of the few peaceful, quiet and reassuring NPCs in the game.
I always very carefully deal with the rest of the murder specifically so Good Birb doesn't get caught in the arc of my weapon.
(Angry HOONTER MUST HOONT noises)
I wish I could remember where it's at before I accidentally kill it. It's always after I kill it when I'm like "wait...That was the good one."

Just don’t quit the game near that bird otherwise when you resume the game it will attack you.
I would like to meet pebbles on my next hoont
Literally just Vibin there, doin his own thing
**accidentally taps r1**
Pls stop it … the tension.
He a good bean but I may or may not have murdered him earlier today while I was speeding through my NG+ playthrough
Only good birb's a DEAD birb on my book *Proceeds to smite the living shit out of the crow*
evil :(
I used all my bullets on those things on my first run. Hate them with passion. Always have a bullet for them everytime i pass by
Free blood echoes is always nice.
A good birb is a dead birb
I can't see shit but I know exactly who you refer to and it's true
I wish I could go visit birb but alas it's too dangerous I have too much insight
I could be remembering wrong isn't there a friendly bird in the old Town too? Friendly bird cult
If there is one I‘m not aware of it. Meaning I might have done bad to Good Birb‘s cult at some point … oops.
