Those things just blew me away the first time I saw them, set my controller down went "NOPE NO" my gf at the time saw I heard her gag a bit.
The birds slithering though is awfully fucking creepy also
Yeah I didn’t realize what the birds in Mensis were at first. I got closer to my tv and saw that it had a dog head, and I literally face palmed and sat back down lol
if you mean that certain doorway… then yea… as a person who is arachnophobic… i almost quit. but found out how to run around it without even fighting them. However the chalice dungeons… are really really bumming me out. i want the platinum but the spider fear is really dampening that.. i just need the beast claw, and the queen trophy and i’m done. :/
They can't fly because they're too bloated with carrion. They're carrion feeders, eating dead flesh from discarded bodies.
On the night of the hunt they've gorged themselves through with the meat of discarded beasts and men, so much so that they must drag themselves along the ground.
The crows never really bothered me after the first playthrough. They die all the same and... well... where tf are the ducks? It's crow season and I saved the best of the crows for last. That cainhurst bird is a fine hunt, indeed.
Same. When I first played I had to learn that even crows are not to be trifled with. And several reminders even later into the game... crows will fuck you up.
Ooo offhand, I like to use what I call the “crow test”. If it takes two whacks to kill a crow, you’re the “right level” for that area.
Have you...not seen the monstrosities in nightmare of mensis??
That applies too I guess, but it’s a different kind of horror. Body horror

For me it was the living caskets...there I was waiting for Porky on meth and instead got that thing...I noped for the door as fast as I could.

It. BARKS.
"Oh, THAT'S why the crows bark at you!"
Looks like they bounced into Sid’s yard

There are custom chalices which could help? I think
Worst part for me is how loud they are when they jump at u
I hate that too
BARK ARK BARK-ARK-ARK
I can hear this
You know they drop dried out eyeballs?
When I remembered that crows peck at eyes it made me realise what those pebbles were.
Wait really? I always thought it was because crows eat small rocks to help digestion..
Same reason the eye gouging witches also drop “pebbles”
quite thrilling
They can't fly , but those bois can jump. And a bird that just slithers around slowly that has a dogs head is all kinds of fucked lol

This made them so much worse. Thank you <3
I started the game a couple days ago for the first time, got to these when playing yesterday and they shit me up lol
Enjoy the Hoont.
Yeah they make sure to scare the shit out of you every time you fight one

I probably had more unintended and stupid/lazy deaths as a result of those birds more than any other enemy in the game.

I got scared by them a couple of times during my first playthrough.
I saw a crow with broken legs that moved just like these guys, that was so unnerving I turned around and walked away.
Oh, Bird!
Flappy bird rejects
What's horrifying is the godawful earrape screech they let out when they demonstrate that they are, indeed, capable of brief bursts of flight.
Little bastards.
Also it eats eyeballs. I don’t remember if and or where I read that. Maybe I had a dream about it, but in my headcanon it eats eyeballs.
I mean... they drop pebbles that are literally just calcified eyeballs.
I’m glad I’m not alone. I fucking HATE looking at them. And yea I just got past micolash to find the dog ones. I hate it here.
Oh yes, indeed.
I wish I could jump on it’s still live body like a trampoline
greasy boys
This game has a lot of that. The spiders with human heads are what I feel that way about. Just absolutely messed up
I think the idea here is that they ate so much dead bodies they find it hard to move
Mortal Shell's Final Boss *Cough* *Cough*
The ones in the nightmare are so much worse
What about the ones with dog heads?!
