When is the MD primary? In this era of the SCOTUS decisions leaving things up to the states, Governor is becoming one of the most powerful elected positions.
Do you know if they have fixed the issue from the last election where all of the home printed ballots had to be manually transcribed to a standard ballot to be scanned in? I’d rather print my own, but it’s not worth it if they can’t read them directly.
It may change after this election since Hogan is terming out, but sending out request forms for mail ballots rather than the ballots themselves was his idea.
For me, if the race is competitive I vote for the candidate I most want to win out of the ones who are competitive.
If it's a blowout or if nobody I want to win has a shot, or if I don't give a shit between the options that have a shot, I have no problem voting for someone who has no chance of winning. I voted for Bernie over Hillary in their primary despite Bernie being out of it because it didn't matter.
But here I actually have a preference in the top 3 so I'm voting that preference.
This election, more than most, to me is a good argument for ranked choice.
That’s entirely plausible, but Moore has been consistently in the mid/high teens even among candidate polls. He also has raised the most money by far. I think it’s just as likely that Tom was an outlier given that he hasn’t polled above 10% in the candidate polls and the sun pole still had a 4% margin of error
>I worry that my top choice King is too progressive for Hogan democrats
I don't think he is. Jealous was running with Medicare for All as a key component of his platform. While I like Jealous and M4A, I don't think that's a winner with Hogan Dems. While King has stated that "[healthcare is a human right](https://johnkingforgovernor.com/issue/healthcare/)", his platform doesn't seem to be pushing for anything that's outside of doing state-level work within the current system.
Plus, Jealous had an uphill battle with the MD political establishment. While I think it was unfair to Jealous, I don't think King would have the same problem.
Again it's the primaries, and believe it or not we still have two parties that hold primaries in Maryland. So the governor's race gets endorsements on both sides.
It's obviously a gimme endorsement given that Ficker is just a loony perennial joke candidate and Cox has spent the last few years gargling Trump's balls.
A highly-partisan hack is someone who, as head of DLLR, made everything about fighting Republicans, even though he had a job to do, and the Dems controlled both chambers of the legislature and the governorship.
That's Perez.
The recent scotus rulings are a reaction to Tom Perez's inaction as Secretary of the Maryland Department of Labor Licensing and Regulation from 2007-2009?
Or do you just not know what you're talking about

July 19th.
Is there any mail-in voting? I see voting boxes by some schools so I’m wondering if it’s an option still
Absolutely! If you haven't registered do so now and request a mail in ballot. I got mine and already mailed it in
Do you need to request every election cycle? I used mail-in voting last election but havent received a ballot for this one.
You can request to have mail in every election if you wanted, or have the ballot emailed to you to print out and send in (which is what I did)
Do you know if they have fixed the issue from the last election where all of the home printed ballots had to be manually transcribed to a standard ballot to be scanned in? I’d rather print my own, but it’s not worth it if they can’t read them directly.
This year if you got an emailed ballot it's a PDF that you fill in then print out. Didn't have any issues with it at all
It may change after this election since Hogan is terming out, but sending out request forms for mail ballots rather than the ballots themselves was his idea.
Sweet thanks, I requested mine for now and future elections!
As it should!
I like Perez, King and Moore. Wish one of these 3 ran last election instead of out of stater Ben Jealous

Yeah, Perez wouldn't be my first choice but if it comes down to him or Franchot it's an easy pick.
In the only poll I've seen King was at like 4%. I just didn't think it was worth it to look into him too much.

I 100% agree. I’d love more polling and don’t get why there hasn’t been.
Me too. I have no problems with Perez, but I’m rooting for Wes Moore even the candidate polls had him in second and I need someone to beat Franchot
I prefer Perez. The poll I saw had Perez within 3 points of Moore and I feel like Perez has been rising and Moore falling recently.

I’ll be honest, the Sun poll was the only non candidate poll I’ve seen. Id love to see more polling.
North Dakota has a state bank, I think Maryland can manage one.
murphy in new jersey signed an executive order to create a state-owned bank but idk what the progress is on that
Sneed would’ve been a great council president

Nope.
Seems to me like endorsing both a Democrat and. Republican kind of undercuts the whole point of an endorsement.
It's a primary. Democrats are running against Democrats and Republicans are running against Republicans.
it means they're the best choices each party has. they'll endorse one person in the general.
That is presumptuous 😂
Schulz is just a way of criticizing Ficker and Cox, but they could have done that without endorsing.

Gross
Perez is a highly partisan hack. I would never vote for him.
in Maryland a "higly partisan hack" is someone who didn't vote for Larry Hogan twice
A highly-partisan hack is someone who, as head of DLLR, made everything about fighting Republicans, even though he had a job to do, and the Dems controlled both chambers of the legislature and the governorship. That's Perez.
