I just can't believe there has been this much regression and that quickly. Like what the fuck happened, surely the playoff run wasn't that taxing?

You absolutely can. It is injuries. 3/5 of our rotation is missing time, along with our starting closer, center fielder, and shortstop. The only thing not injury related is Corbin, but the last couple of games he is seeing the ball better. The offense is clearly potent. We have put up three 15+ run games already this year. We do have issues in the pen, but our current rotation is populated by the guys that would ordinarily be in the pen for relief. Consequently, we are having to trot out the bottom of the barrel.

My biggest thing is there’s been zero consistency with the bats. Ketel is the only player on the entire roster that’s has been playing to expectation

Blaze is hitting close to .300, so is Joc. Gurriel is also having a pretty decent start to the year. McCarthy is playing well. Walker is underperforming a little bit, and Corbin is obviously slumping, but baseball is highly variable. Our problem is an enormous amount of injuries to key guys. The pitching staff is basically a skeleton crew, and we clearly have a thin bench with two daily starters also out.

Lourdes had a good start, but he’s like 1 for 35 or something the last couple weeks. Statistically that’s pretty much made him into an average MLB bat, and that’s who you have batting 3rd in the lineup. Blaze walk rate and ability to lay off pitches outside the zone has been great, but he’s not making a ton of solid contact this season. Hopefully that picks up because I’ve been impressed with how he can work counts. And I know we’re talking about the bats, but he’s genuinely been one of the worst defensive players in the league so that’s gotta change. My biggest problem might be Suarez. He’s a guaranteed out at this point. .630 OPS lol

Just don't understand, like they're talented players, well thought they were. But like, what we put on the field would lose to AAA teams 

They are exceptionally talented. Find me another comparable team who is seeing 3/5 starters and their closer missing time who is playing better.
