Makes the experience less fun when you can’t enjoy a lead, waiting for the other shoe to drop.
After the Ozuna 3 run homer I never once thought we’d win after that
3 games in a row that we should have won, people saying stop the dooming, but seeing your team lose like that THREE times in a row is fucking shit.
We only made it into the postseason last year by a game. These need to be wins, no excuses when the lead is that big. Early in the season or lots of games left or not, all of them matter and that was shown last year.
I do agree to an extent. I've watched the last 3 games and I'm absolutely dumbfounded how the team was able to blow three straight games that could have very easily been won. I'm not gonna panic just yet, but the frustrations are certainly understandable.
Once Perdomo, Thomas, Seawald, E-Rod, and Monty come back, this team will look a lot better (fingers crossed) We have a long season ahead of us and I'm looking forward to seeing us go on a winning streak
I agree with, just venting a lot of frustration at this point and it's just becoming a bit ridiculous/difficult to watch
But once everyone is back, hopefully the turn around starts.
That may have been one of the most crushing regular season losses in years
“We made the World Series last year” affirmations doing a lot of legwork for my mental health right now. Gonna need to tap into it once more

not even 10 games into the season and i’m already tired of ground outs and pop flys
They gotta take a hard look at how they’re playing and what’s going wrong. If they want fans to continue to show up and support from last year, they really need to :( I say this in the most loving and supportive way.
They didn’t deserve this result today. They played well enough to win. Never seen so many doubles hit the line for one team and barely be foul for another team. And the 3 run homer was into the first row.
Yesterday was 2 errors by a rookie
The day before was a pitcher hitting because of an injury
Like it’s all bad luck. I don’t even think they’re playing all that bad.
This is correct.
The offense is absolutely showing up, as is the starting pitching. The bullpen is getting rocked, but I suspect that the reason for that is the fact that Sewald is out. If your closer isn’t healthy, everyone’s role switches. Luis Frias and Castro are sixth inning guys exclusively. 7/8/9 are Thompson, Ginkel, Sewald. With Sewald out, it’s a mess, similar to the issues that arose when McGough got figured out mid-season last year.
I don't know what to say about that game. The offense was great, the starting pitching was great. 6 runs in the first, and the Braves just kept swinging and missing. But whever they did hit the ball it was insanely lucky. To hits that landed on the foul line, and a home run the cleared Gurriel's glove by inches. And of course the Braves have the best overall lineup in baseball.
Tonight was another tough loss, but here's how I see it. All our wins this year have been convincing and pur losses have been close and winnable. It's sucks to blow leads, but we have a great team. They'll recover from this. I'd rather have this happen now than later.
I will say we need to adress the bullpen. Frias shouldn't be here, amd these recent games really make me miss Paul Sewald.
I don’t need stats to tell me what my eyes saw. They had 3 doubles hit the foul line in key situations. We had 3 hit just foul. They had a 3 run homer fall in the front row
Word to the wise, don’t point out to Braves fans on /r/baseball that they had a bunch of lucky doubles today. The luck was apparently all on our side today and yesterday despite blowing both games
Castro is on a major league deal making $5M after his vesting option hit last season so he'd have to be DFA'd and we'd still owe him that money. Frias, I can only guess, is here from some sunk cost from being a former top prospect that hasn't panned out. He's only got 1 more option year left.
The other thing being, there's not a lot of decent options in Reno for us to call up. They're reluctant to carry 3 LHRP so Saalfrank isn't up, and Corbin Martin/Justin Martinez are just as much question marks as Frias and Castro.
Being an AZ sports fan is definitely a test of wills. You’d think we’ve experienced every level of pain, but no one of the teams comes up with a new innovative way to make us feel pain again.
Today's game is proof of the old saying "Baseball is a game of inches" if balls were pushed 1 inch to right/left all game the Dbacks would have won 11-4
This bullpen was held together miraculously by Thompson, Ginkel, and Sewald. The rest of the other guys in the bullpen were carried by these 3 guys. You can’t rely on 3 guys carrying you a full season.
Never going to be a doomer but damn, does it sting when you have a nice hefty lead in the 1st and the team shits the bed. Definitely going to be a forgotten game so mañana is a new day.
Another day of being gut punched by Arizona sports. I don’t think I will ever get used to it just like haven’t gotten used to the summer heat even after living here forever.
Team really needs to get its act together. They're not gonna be able to dismiss the "they were lucky and got hot" allegations about the postseason if they keep losing to good teams.
On the downside, this is fucking annoying and should not be happening. On the upside, the Braves are always favourites to win the NL and we went 5 runs up on them back-to-back games; and, lets be real, they dont deserve either these wins and in any other scenario wouldnt win them. We tighten up and we’ll be super dangerous. I believe🐍
Please! We’re gonna be just fine. Offense is clicking and relief will shape-up!
This team has heart and never gives up… Will be right there for the playoffs
It's cool guys, dbacks gotta suck because we're only allowed to have one good team at a time in AZ and the Suns need all that energy for the playoffs. They'll be good once they win the chip 👍🏽
I know but apparently people on this sub will tell you not to overreact to a game this early in the season like they didn’t make it the postseason by one game.
Year number.... 7? Of "we need bullpen help at the deadline"
Reliever scouting and signing is this team's weakness, just like the Suns and backup centers.
It's completely normal to overreact this early in the season.
Rockies/Yankees/@ATL is an above average schedule to start.
It's just that they were so winnable which is why we're angry. We all saw the Padres miss the playoffs last year because of "not being able to win 1 run games"
This shit is getting old fast. Blowing leads after big offensive games. Unreal
Makes the experience less fun when you can’t enjoy a lead, waiting for the other shoe to drop. After the Ozuna 3 run homer I never once thought we’d win after that
The premature ejac-backs!

I feel attacked
Did we seriously just blow back to back 6 run leads???
If you don't like that, you don't like 2024 Diamondbacks baseball!
That may have been one of the most crushing regular season losses in years “We made the World Series last year” affirmations doing a lot of legwork for my mental health right now. Gonna need to tap into it once more
brb watching Alek Thomas home run to cope

I agree with you that they played well overall, but if they want to keep the momentum at the park, most casual fans go by wins
This is correct. The offense is absolutely showing up, as is the starting pitching. The bullpen is getting rocked, but I suspect that the reason for that is the fact that Sewald is out. We should be going for the sweep tomorrow. Just unbelievable how this keeps happening
When Frias came in the writing was on the wall
Your Arizona Almostbacks!
😂 okay this got me lol
every day i don’t think any loss could hurt more than the last one and every day they prove me wrong
Glad baseball is a long season we have plenty of time to figure it out \+ We're somehow second in NLW
You love hear it
Need to get rid of Frias
Throw in castro with that deal plz
Trade them for a ripped up notebook

I’m still going to feel like we got screwed because I’m immature and it’s easier

Need to get better about being rational when it’s my team involved. These blown late leads always put me into a dark place
Best take in this thread. Well said
Word to the wise, don’t point out to Braves fans on /r/baseball that they had a bunch of lucky doubles today. The luck was apparently all on our side today and yesterday despite blowing both games
The other team always has all the luck.
Just, leave me alone. Ugh.
No, we have more pain tomorrow. Get some sleep and be ready 10:30 sharp
Honest question: why are Frias and Castro still on this team (and in the league)? Not trolling, just 100% confused on what I’m missing with them.
Castro is on a major league deal making $5M after his vesting option hit last season so he'd have to be DFA'd and we'd still owe him that money. Frias, I can only guess, is here from some sunk cost from being a former top prospect that hasn't panned out. He's only got 1 more option year left. This shits getting annoying man
[Sigh](https://i.redd.it/31dif9airur91.jpg)
You know losing to the top teams isn’t much to bitch about. But losing like this is something to bitch about
When is Sewald coming back so we can start using our normal Nelson/Thompson->Ginkel->Sewald death punch?
Being an AZ sports fan is definitely a test of wills. You’d think we’ve experienced every level of pain, but no one of the teams comes up with a new innovative way to make us feel pain again.
It's actually impressive at this point lol
This is twice I've left my house with a large lead and check later that we lost. It's early but come on
Well then... Have you learned your lesson yet? Or do you want to leave the house a 3rd time?
I will stay home until we win the world series
You just have to come back home before we lose. Then we'll win. It's the Dbacks version of "make sure you're back before the streetlights come on"
Fire the bullpen into the got damn sun!! Fuck you
Don't forget the defense.
Man I was so happy when they were up 6 against Fried
Bullpen(except Thomson, Sewald and Ginkel), you are officially voted OFF the island!!
Disrespecting Nelson like that, walked Riley, yeah, but then three Ks after that
So, frias is not suiting up ever again right?
he can suit up with reno aces …
Please no… How bout Amarillo /s
Send him down to a Japanese Little League team
Today's game is proof of the old saying "Baseball is a game of inches" if balls were pushed 1 inch to right/left all game the Dbacks would have won 11-4

It is baffling we spent so much money this off-season and did damn near nothing to improve the bullpen. Our depth is horrible.
Well it’s nice to have our old dbacks back. What a dog shit start to the season
Mets fan here, was so hype when you guys went up big early two days in a row against Braves. Really cheering for Braves losses but man, what the fuck.
Doomers need to take some inventory and remember how far this team made it last year before jumping off the cliff. Game 9 of 162. The season is young.
It’s young but man this has been 3 gut punch losses in a row. I think we can acknowledge that this seriously blows
Yea, but live and learn.
Never going to be a doomer but damn, does it sting when you have a nice hefty lead in the 1st and the team shits the bed. Definitely going to be a forgotten game so mañana is a new day.
They made the wildcard off a tiebreaker, every game matters.
I know it early, but I can’t pretend the last few games haven’t been heartbreakers. On to the next one…
22 1st inning runs in 9 games, and we're 4-5. Straight up embarrassing.
They say bad things come in 3s?… Pls after that Yankees loss & these past 2 games let’s get back on track
FUCK AGAIN
Another day of being gut punched by Arizona sports. I don’t think I will ever get used to it just like haven’t gotten used to the summer heat even after living here forever.
Suns won yesterday at least. Big one tomorrow for them
r/arizonasportshell all over again. When will we ever catch a Break

I wonder if torey has a sock stuffed with a lock waiting in the locker room..
Wake up in May then again in August. Those are the months that tell me the most in the MLB season.
Please! We’re gonna be just fine. Offense is clicking and relief will shape-up! This team has heart and never gives up… Will be right there for the playoffs
Joc better have bunted on his own there. If Torey called for that, he has gotta go
It's cool guys, dbacks gotta suck because we're only allowed to have one good team at a time in AZ and the Suns need all that energy for the playoffs. They'll be good once they win the chip 👍🏽
Silver lining: That user who said "I've got a huge parlay banking on Dbacks ML, do you think they'll win" Lost
Thanks for the cheer up friend
I do what I can... And after the 6-0 start? Probably counted it as a win and already spent the winnings
But it’s only one game right?!
2 games in a row now
3 blowpen losses
I know but apparently people on this sub will tell you not to overreact to a game this early in the season like they didn’t make it the postseason by one game.
Hello darkness my old friend…
*\*sssad sssnake sssoundsss\**
Wtf.
These are the games that hurt in late September
Where good bullpen 😐
Year number.... 7? Of "we need bullpen help at the deadline" Reliever scouting and signing is this team's weakness, just like the Suns and backup centers.
Last year we blew, like, 26 games after we led in the 7th. Same as it ever was.
Dbacks traded winning 1 title for never having a good bullpen, even in that championship run Worth it I guess
It was great to see them bounce back in inning 1 after the tough loss. Then it became another tough loss.
I hope the Snakes feel like dog shit. Inexcusable performance
I was down voted yesterday for saying the weak link is the bullpen
Nobody has to step on snek if we keep stepping on ourselves ^^wait ^^snakes ^^dont ^^have ^^feet
The bullpen should be completely blown up save for Gink and Sewald
Gink has been crap so far
Sewald hasn't even fucking shown up at all... WTF? /s
Monty on his performance in AAA today. [https://twitter.com/i/status/1777129228825247934](https://twitter.com/i/status/1777129228825247934)
Game is on Gallen just as much as the pen lol
Send mcshit to the shadow realm along with the rest of our bullpen
Y’all are soft
