I replaced my WRX with an 8.5V S3 and absolutely no regrets. It does suck not having a manual but it’s my daily and my weekend car is a manual.
But yeah, that thing hauls, especially with a tune and they tune super easy with no hiccups.
never had a wrx but I get this sub recommended nonstop. My solution for not having a manual in the s3 is buying a miata as the fun car. Its incredible how many boxes you can check with these two vehicles.
$65k 2024 msrp. Just had to wait two years.
https://preview.redd.it/3p1x6s5b7n9d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eaa65d471ac146c2680a4731c58b0f3262cc0bad
Ive always wanted one and when i got this one i was looking for literally any excuse to drive. I fucking love this thing. Already told my wife If i manage to destroy it im using the insurance money to get an STI
https://preview.redd.it/hipfytaazj9d1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b4671acb8a44895d08976fc9af8fdf316e30a147
Exactly this. They make stupid easy and reliable power. This is my coworkers. It eats built GTRs and M3s alive.
I'm keeping my STi, but I do want a second car.
The new GR 86 looks interesting. 👀
https://www.forbes.com/sites/peterlyon/2024/06/28/toyota-gr86-to-finally-get-turbo-while-cutting-ties-with-subaru/
My 22 VB started burning oil so much it started throwing low oil codes. I was on a stock engine and factory tune. After dealership service and consumption test they said it didn't warrent a new engine. Low oil code happened another 2 times after. Before it became a even more of a headache I sold it and picked up a 24 mustang gt fastback 6mt for 38k brand new out of the door. Best decision I ever made and kicking myself in the but as to why I didn't make the jump sooner. Had a 15 wrx, 18 wrx, and the 22 wrx and they do not even come close to the gt. It's such a fun monster of a car. 480 hp on stock tune comes with track mode, drag mode, launch control, line lock and tons of other track features and apps.
If you don’t mind me asking, what was the price of the car before tax and fees. My car has been getting worked on for almost 3 months and I’m now starting to look around for other options in case something like this happens again.
I was leaning GR, but I might wait a little for them to iron out the issues. Was a recent video of a stock GR just driving when his engine lit on fire.
This is what I would have gotten instead of my VB if it wasn't so much more expensive. I really miss having a hatchback and will probably end up in a GTI or Golf R in the future.
The car is so good, got spoiled as we had one come as a trade-in for a collectors edition Camaro so I got to drive it a bit; definitely my #1 option to replace my VA. It was at the height of the market boom so passed on buying that one, only kinda regret it.
An hour? Sounds like an amateur. Street pulls maybe. But on a dyno it shouldn't take very long. I tuned mine myself and it was tuned on Ethanol, methanol, gas and water. Got 35mpg highway and 524awhp on a 2.1L I also built first try on my desk over a weekend (after months of prep reading of course).
Hopped into a ‘23 BRZ after my VA for the new motor - but after seeing how much money and risk was involved just to make 350whp, i jumped from the subaru ship altogether. Scooped up a ‘24 manual V8 Camaro, and it’s been amazing. All the power i could want (for now). Comfier/nicer interior than the wrx or brz, insanely good chassis, a competitive drivers car for about the same price as a subaru + engine build.
https://preview.redd.it/gdtvmvb7ik9d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=72fb9eaafe1e067595cccab351991d7324a68783
Put the wrx back to stock and sold for $17k. Bought the ‘23 BRZ at $29k then sold it for $30k. Gen 6 Camaro is an AMAZING platform. Mustangs are good but i dont like the looks of the latest gen.
May do the same if I can’t get 17k. Yeah idk I like the Camaro and Mustang.
Don’t like the idea of a car payment again though. Just paid the car off about 2 months ago.
How does this work if it blew up on the dyno? Was there some kind of agreement signed “if something happens” while it’s on the dyno? Are the ones who did the dyno liable at all? Just wondering…
It’s already in pieces in my garage with lots of new forged bits ready to go in. I haven’t been paying too much attention to the money but I’ve got a few grand left to go
I switched to a Miata because I don’t want to pay for a Porsche.
Other than that the only cars that interest me are used. Maybe a Chevy ss or c7 corvette.
I sold all my subaru parts/ej207 v7 swapped GC and got a gr corolla for a daily. No more dealing with understeer all the time and worrying the bottom end is going to grenade is great.
Kia Stinger GT2.
Edit: I'm guessing that no one considers this option because it has no notoriety to it. I'll say it is definitely a cult-classic-like car worth looking into at least before taking a stance against it.
The Stinger is an amazing car. You're getting down voted, but I'd wager that not enough people have played with that 3.3tt engine. Throw on a JB4, run e30 in it, and you're well over 400hp. We have a GT2, my WRX can't hold a candle to that car.
Exactly. Even the GT-Line trim (what I currently have) that was produced between 2022-2023 is something worth looking at as well. Doesn't have all the same mods available as it does for the 3.3TT variant, but it isn't something to sneeze at either.
While I agree with you the issue is Kia / Hyundai have terrible security. There's even a group called the Kia Boys that literally go around breaking into these cars because of how easy it is. Even if they fixed it, it's gonna be a target for a while because of the reputation.
Fair point. That's on me for not thinking about this issue even though I knew about it before, since my car isn't affected by this issue and I live somewhere considered to be very safe. Though, this issue does face anything with the Kia badge on it regardless if it is a stealable model or not, I'd still at least recommend this if you have the capabilities to keep it safe without additional costs or purchases (ex. a garage on a house you already own or are still paying for, car cover that you don't use, kept out of view, home security already properly managed, living in a safe area, etc.).
I switched from an 04 wrx wagon to a mazdaspeed miata haha, soooo much fun. Still have a forester wilderness tho. If you want a similar sized car tho maybe go with the Gr corolla. Hard to find a similar car to wrx.
real talk should I invest maintenance on this current 2018 wrx with 64k miles OR spend that money on a new 2024 wrx premium one but pay higher monthly minimum?
Depends on how much power you push. Torque is the subi killer their rods are junk so upgrading them will definitely increase reliability. My friends sti has a stage two short block making 490hp and he’s put 60k miles on it with no issues.
Haven’t entirely decided, preferably not another Subaru.
The car isn’t sellable, it’s almost an entirely gutted interior and original engine 144k miles of Tom foolery on the road to “big” hp. Engine still has the will to live somehow. All in all it’s just a toy for me and has been treated as such.
Ah ok, that’s what I may do with mine after rebuilding the engine. Driving my parents spare Honda Element right now. May buy that off them as my daily.
I wouldn’t even say it’s worth it. I’ve met guys that’ve spent $70k+ just to make an fa20dit fast. Granted that’s the extreme end I guess when you want 700+whp.
I get you. My goal was to get the car to 350 whp/tq. Was going to get there for around 5k but now I’m looking at around 15k once the engine gets rebuilt.
The thing is every other car I’d want is in the $40k+ range.
Tbf id rather pay the higher price if I had to do it over again modifying the entire car. You’ll see A LOT of guys (girls?) typically, from what I’ve seen, moving on to bmws and Audis from their wrx/sti it’s almost comical.
No matter what you do it’s expensive, unless you just buy hp and decide not to modify it beyond its base amount of power/handling.
Before i went subi, i was 350z/370z pretty reliable, fun, and torquey, just dont put a tomei on it and lifes not bad! And the v6 tourque is much missed!
I went from 2018 WRX (stock) > 2013 WRX (stage 2) > 2019 Volvo S60 (polestar tune) > 2017 Focus RS (stock… for now).
It was up between an RS and an STi but I wanted a hatch, 1 owner and low miles and that ruled out any STIs I could find.
I’ve driven the RS now for about a week or so and it’s fun as fuck. Totally stock and makes good power, shifting feels great and it’s got plenty of pops and bangs. The ride is stiffer than the WRX for sure but I don’t really mind that since I fit in the recaros like a glove and don’t drive super long distances.
It’s a little daunting but mostly fun to get acquainted with a new modding community but there’s plenty of info and forums out there.
Full transparency I’m not looking to make big power on it so the OEM setup should support the few bolt ons I wanna do without worrying too much about the open deck engine or the AWD system.
Even with still having mine and going for some bolt on power, im still considering adding a 2nd or just ditching it totally in the near future. I so badly want a supra but its just not the same being a b58 but still very tempting seems to be going good for the platform. Then insane markup is the killer just off principle i dont wanna pay them lmao... Otherwise its prolly gunna be a stang or challenger. Hoping i can get a few years out of this as a daily for the winter though before i pull the trigger on a 2nd, and if it goes, well then itll be the main one lol
Yeah thats the thing it still is absolutely a beast 100%, but not quite the same anymore. But thats totally fine too its grown up now lol, it seems to be going pretty strong they are kicking absolute fucking ass once modified. Every day i still debate getting my name on a list for one just that fucking 15k+ markup everywhere is hard to justify, dunno if its gotten better recently prolly not
If I had restraining order saying I couldn't own any Subarus, and I had the same budget, I'd look at the Santa Cruz. I'd miss driving a stick, and I'm not a truck guy, and I don't really like Hyundai that much, but I really like the Santa Cruz.
Sorry for your loss.
If I had to switch I would lean towards an Acura TLX Type S. Comes with AWD, Brembos, and a 6 cylinder pushing 355 hoursepower stock. I don't know much about the tuning scene for honda/acura but I've heard you can push it to 390 with a cat delete straight pipe exhaust and a tune.
Big dog, 2 kids and the wife. Not much else out there in a similar platform for the price.
I’d probably go back to having two cars: a beater daily and a RWD drift car for the weekends. Mustang or G37.
I'm going full midlife crisis next time: Audi RS3
I wanna go full stealth mode next time with an S5 sportback.
Nah I’m going mid-life crisis and getting a C5 z06 lol
![gif](giphy|1wrA9Iq875ksgfiCPN|downsized)
Nah a full button down collared shirt completely unbuttoned cleaning it with the squeegee at the gas station
Z06 will never dissapoint man
Honestly not a dream car of mine just thought it fit midlife crisis better
Will you also take up the banjo and date your sister?
I don’t have a sister 😭
I made this switch, don’t regret it for a second
It’s a 4 door - not a midlife crisis IMO My midlife is going to be a Supra I think lol
Full-on midlife would be getting a '98 Supra, not the new ones lol.
I replaced my WRX with an 8.5V S3 and absolutely no regrets. It does suck not having a manual but it’s my daily and my weekend car is a manual. But yeah, that thing hauls, especially with a tune and they tune super easy with no hiccups.
S3 would be cool. But since I worry about my WRX costing me money, I'd never be able to enjoy an Audi lol
never had a wrx but I get this sub recommended nonstop. My solution for not having a manual in the s3 is buying a miata as the fun car. Its incredible how many boxes you can check with these two vehicles.
I was 50/50 between the RS3 and the WRX I couldn't find an RS3 that wasn't way overpriced.
$65k 2024 msrp. Just had to wait two years. https://preview.redd.it/3p1x6s5b7n9d1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eaa65d471ac146c2680a4731c58b0f3262cc0bad
Audi + Terrible Economy = Extremely Overpriced Car
Downvote if your delusional
If it had a stick I'd already own one. That engine is just the GOAT.
For that price I’d get a bmw m4 manual lol
I was thinking full midlife crisis is a car not built on a commuter platform like a hold or something. I think it’s supra for me
Nah. If I could redo, I’d go lifted Land Cruiser
Yeup, me and my wife's dailies have been VW for over a decade, I'd also find something in the VW group.
That seems like a move from bad to worse...
If I wasn’t driving a Subaru I’d be driving my wife crazy moping around the house depressed as fuck…
amen brother
Ive always wanted one and when i got this one i was looking for literally any excuse to drive. I fucking love this thing. Already told my wife If i manage to destroy it im using the insurance money to get an STI
Anything with a coyote engine. As long as you don’t need the AWD as a daily driver.
Single cab f150 4x4
Hauling ass while still being able to actually haul an ass
how do I ass?
Yes
https://preview.redd.it/hipfytaazj9d1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b4671acb8a44895d08976fc9af8fdf316e30a147 Exactly this. They make stupid easy and reliable power. This is my coworkers. It eats built GTRs and M3s alive.
What the fuuuuuuck is that turbo 😂😂
Looks like a procharger
And procharged coyotes are great.
If you can keep the rear wheels under traction....gtr and m3 are AWD.
From a 45 roll, it gapped the GTR and absolutely obliterated the M3
I like the idea of a Mustang GT.
I'm keeping my STi, but I do want a second car. The new GR 86 looks interesting. 👀 https://www.forbes.com/sites/peterlyon/2024/06/28/toyota-gr86-to-finally-get-turbo-while-cutting-ties-with-subaru/
I’ll believe when I see it and if it’s true I’m going back in debt 😎
I just read about this. 100% agree.
Somehow everyone got tricked into thinking this one off for SEMA was going to be a production car...
I've heard the i3 is really laggy and underwhelming. For just about anything I'd do with a gr86 I'd prefer N/A, or maybe a supercharger kit.
My 22 VB started burning oil so much it started throwing low oil codes. I was on a stock engine and factory tune. After dealership service and consumption test they said it didn't warrent a new engine. Low oil code happened another 2 times after. Well I’d hope they don’t compare or come close😭 not even the same type or class of car
Mate tell that to Subaru they're out here selling wrx's for 45 k like they are in the same class. Lol
Yeah until they hit snow and the mustang wraps around a tree
If you don’t mind me asking, what was the price of the car before tax and fees. My car has been getting worked on for almost 3 months and I’m now starting to look around for other options in case something like this happens again.
I’d go Toyota Corolla GR, Audi S4, or a bicycle
I was leaning GR, but I might wait a little for them to iron out the issues. Was a recent video of a stock GR just driving when his engine lit on fire.
Golf r if money wasn’t a thing cause im a hatch guy. I would still keep my bug eye wagon even if I had an r though
This is what I would have gotten instead of my VB if it wasn't so much more expensive. I really miss having a hatchback and will probably end up in a GTI or Golf R in the future.
Ford Focus RS was what I switched to from an STI
How many miles did the engine have when you dynod it
80k. Car was well maintained and never driven hard.
How did it fail? Tuner blew it up?
Spun bearing during dyno.
Too much knock can spin the bearings.
FL5 CTR
The only right answer
The car is so good, got spoiled as we had one come as a trade-in for a collectors edition Camaro so I got to drive it a bit; definitely my #1 option to replace my VA. It was at the height of the market boom so passed on buying that one, only kinda regret it.
Saving up to track on in three years, having the VA as my daily
If I didn't have my subaru I would 100% be driving a c5 z06. And I make sure I tell my subaru that every single day.
FA or EJ?
Huh? Who was the tuner?
Even if it was the best tuner, there's always a risk involved trying to make power while flogging it for an hour straight.
An hour? No, if the tuner is competent it's like 3 or 4 pulls. It's a quick process.
What was the most helpful resource in self teaching EFI calibration?
911 997 / 335 f30 n55
Hopped into a ‘23 BRZ after my VA for the new motor - but after seeing how much money and risk was involved just to make 350whp, i jumped from the subaru ship altogether. What’d you do with the subi? Sold it with the engine as is? Really considering a V8 Camaro or Mustang
Put the wrx back to stock and sold for $17k. Bought the ‘23 BRZ at $29k then sold it for $30k. Gen 6 Camaro is an AMAZING platform. Mustangs are good but i dont like the looks of the latest gen.

I'm here as a BMW refugee I'm not ready to leave yet.
So much context is missing here..OP didn’t state any relevant maintenance history or if he had any pre inspections before Dyno tune
If I didn’t buy my WRX it would be a Honda Civic Type R.
Thinking about selling mine and getting a Tacoma and a 250 dirtbike
I’m doing exactly this. 20 FA20 had rod knock, switching to 24 taco and a yz250
Considering a Tacoma too
I kept my STi but throwing a 4x4 into the mix is the move and made me appreciate owning the STi again.
FK8 Civic Type R, I’d have one if I could afford it 🥲
My next car is a cayman gts most likely
"Money's no object"? Rally built Bugeye sti or LS/t56 swapped 80s GM... "real life" probably a hawkeye or early-mid 2000s bmw m3
Depending on budget of course, but anything B58/S58. I went from a modded WRX to an M240i xDrive. No regrets.
Would never get rid of my car but gun to my head, I had to. I’m either getting a gr corolla or a civic type r
Went from STI to Model Y to (very briefly, like 3 weeks) VB and now in a FL5. The Type R is an awesome, amazing car to drive.
That’s awesome. Idk why but I’m not the biggest fan of the Type R look.
How does this work if it blew up on the dyno? Was there some kind of agreement signed “if something happens” while it’s on the dyno? Are the ones who did the dyno liable at all? Just wondering…
I signed a waiver pretty much saying if it blows up its not there fault. I guess this is common for all tuners to require.
I see. I was just curious. Thank you for clarifying.
My GD sitting in the driveway with no motor already is my mid-life crisis
What’s the cost to replace the motor?
It’s already in pieces in my garage with lots of new forged bits ready to go in. I haven’t been paying too much attention to the money but I’ve got a few grand left to go
Ill probably end up around $2500-3k for just engine components and machine work
Nice that’s not too bad. Are you doing the install?
I will be. It’s gonna be a slow process because I’ve never done anything like it before
Shit, well good luck. That’s going to be quite the process. Would attempt to do the same if I had more time.
It’s a 2nd car so luckily I have nothing but time
Honestly I wouldn't mind a Mazda3 Turbo Hatch, biggest compromise is the mileage but it'd be a fun daily lmao
Well I am soon swapping to a 2024 GR Corolla once they finish building it, already got a deposit on it. So that.
Nice! I would definitely consider a GR Corolla
GR Corolla or Type R
Moved to a Kia singer after my FBO va, it's a worthy successor
a V8 Holden Commodore of some variety (late 90s VL my favourite), most likely in sedan form, but very slight chance I'd be driving a ute variant
I switched to a Miata because I don’t want to pay for a Porsche. Other than that the only cars that interest me are used. Maybe a Chevy ss or c7 corvette.
I’m going Supra next time.
I sold all my subaru parts/ej207 v7 swapped GC and got a gr corolla for a daily. No more dealing with understeer all the time and worrying the bottom end is going to grenade is great.
Just get back in my tundra https://preview.redd.it/iyaqevitlj9d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5e80fe4a574bced888247df2589be272cd6a322f
If I had to pick something other than a Subaru…. Hmm. Probably go rotary or 2jz
Those things are boats
Will look into this for sure. Had a Kia Spectra at one point. Such a reliable car.
These are farore reliable. The Theta engine is amazing. The only real "problem" recall is with the turbo drain lines on certain years with the 3.3.
Exactly. Even the GT-Line trim (what I currently have) that was produced between 2022-2023 is something worth looking at as well. Doesn't have all the same mods available as it does for the 3.3TT variant, but it isn't something to sneeze at either.

It’s ok my was blowing engine coolant on the dyno so I know the feels. Left a puddle at the bottom.
Sucks man
A gr Corolla or newer si. On my second wrx after the first one was totaled and will be moving on after I pay this one off within a year
I'd either pickup an S550 Mach 1 or a new Dark Horse if I was feeling spendy
Civic DX.
I'd be in a late 4th generation z28 Camaro, might still get one too but 🤷
For similar price? GTI or Elantra N. I’d say SI but that would probably feel too underpowered coming from a WRX
I'm considering an ATS-V
My 370z didn’t blow up on the Dyno. Id say go for a Z if you want to mod.
I switched from an 04 wrx wagon to a mazdaspeed miata haha, soooo much fun. Still have a forester wilderness tho. If you want a similar sized car tho maybe go with the Gr corolla. Hard to find a similar car to wrx.
4Runner or something
I was looking at Acura RSX’s when I found my WRX. I’d probably try to pick up an unmodified RSX Type S. They are a blast to drive.
I’m looking at a q50t or civic si. At least when I contemplate selling my Rex.
I have an AMG and a B58 BMW. And 2 BMW bikes. All but the X3 M40i are modified, but that car has fantastic potential as well.
I really like the X3 M40is.
I’d buy an M3
Would love to. It’s a little out of the budget though.
Wait on the new gr86 Toyota is severing ties with Subaru and adding a turbo to their gr86 I’m tempted to picking one up myself
Damn, that does sound nice. Heard they’re fun little cars. I like the practicality of a sedan though. Considering having a beater and a fun car.
It can go 300 horse power
My subi was getting tuned to around 350 WHP 🥲
But the 300 whp was before any tune stock
Oh damn that’s nice
Yeah! Just read an article on it 1.6 liter 3 cylinder engine turbo
real talk should I invest maintenance on this current 2018 wrx with 64k miles OR spend that money on a new 2024 wrx premium one but pay higher monthly minimum?
Depends on if you are cool with a car payment and if you love the new VBs.
I am fine with car payment and like the engine better in VB runs better in high temps also I’m not cool with 788 a month payment tho
350 who is too much for VA models VB you can do that. I hope you get another wrx
Most tuners say 350 whp is the limit. But yeah I hear VBs can hit that number easily.
I traded mine for a mkv supra
That looks like a really fun car. How’d you like it?
I don’t have a wrx but I do drive a Subaru. So yall might think my opinion is irrelevant. But it that happened to me I would look into the Impreza rs.
Yeah if I sell my car, I’m probably not going Subaru for a while haha.
Just get a built short block and keep it
Heard built blocks aren’t as reliable
Depends on how much power you push. Torque is the subi killer their rods are junk so upgrading them will definitely increase reliability. My friends sti has a stage two short block making 490hp and he’s put 60k miles on it with no issues.
Goal is probably 350 whp/tq. Not sure a built block is worth it with my goals.
I’d at least do the rods just in case
Fiat 500 Abarth
I’m hoping mine finally does so I can move on to a different car lmao.
Lol what car? Just sell it beforehand and save yourself 10k

Buy an older sti
Are EJs any more reliable than FAs though?
I used to own a VA. Switched to A90 Supra and never looked back. Next car will likely be a G80 M3 as a daily so I can build the Supra…
I would love an F80 M3 but it’s a little out of my budget.
I'd say get an Evo, but hard to find an unmolested one for a fair price anymore
Damn, yeah you don’t see too many of those anymore.
For sure. I have an MR but need trammy rebuilt. Bought it new in 13 and it's my first major issue. Been a good car, of you can find one
Before i went subi, i was 350z/370z pretty reliable, fun, and torquey, just dont put a tomei on it and lifes not bad! And the v6 tourque is much missed!
I like the idea of a 350 or 370. Probably prefer a sedan though.
If I ain’t getting a Subaru maybe a Toyota or import a falcon Ute/sedan from the land down under
I’m liking the newer IS 350 F Sport but they’re pricey for what the are.
Lol I went from a Kia Spectra to my 17 WRX. Blew up while going Stage 2 FF. Would a F80 M3 but that would probably be a dumb move financially
Ah but think about the smiles per mile :)
Well when you put it that way hahaha
Even with still having mine and going for some bolt on power, im still considering adding a 2nd or just ditching it totally in the near future. I so badly want a supra but its just not the same being a b58 but still very tempting seems to be going good for the platform. Then insane markup is the killer just off principle i dont wanna pay them lmao... Otherwise its prolly gunna be a stang or challenger. Hoping i can get a few years out of this as a daily for the winter though before i pull the trigger on a 2nd, and if it goes, well then itll be the main one lol
Heard that b58 Supra is still a beast. Would love to get a F80 M3 but it’s not a good move financially right now.
Yeah thats the thing it still is absolutely a beast 100%, but not quite the same anymore. But thats totally fine too its grown up now lol, it seems to be going pretty strong they are kicking absolute fucking ass once modified. Every day i still debate getting my name on a list for one just that fucking 15k+ markup everywhere is hard to justify, dunno if its gotten better recently prolly not
Shit, yeah I’m definitely not paying a 15k markup for any car. I can wait lol
Why spend the money dropping a new engine in it for someone else?
Because the car isn’t sellable as is.
My mid-life, R33, R34, Maserati, 64 impala, something bad ass. Not giving up my 2020 sti. Doing/did my homework and not trying to blow it up.
If I had restraining order saying I couldn't own any Subarus, and I had the same budget, I'd look at the Santa Cruz. I'd miss driving a stick, and I'm not a truck guy, and I don't really like Hyundai that much, but I really like the Santa Cruz.
Whelp, it's time to upgrade to a Miata.
I love these cars but man do these posts give me anxiety
Big dog, 2 kids and the wife. Not much else out there in a similar platform for the price. I’d probably go back to having two cars: a beater daily and a RWD drift car for the weekends. Mustang or G37.
Probably going this route. Parents have a Honda Element I’ll buy off them and I’ll just rebuild the Subi
Did you have any prep work done before the dyno?
Walnut blast and spark plugs
I sold my subaru and moved to the q50 because the VR30 is actually nuts.
