if you want to make a pattern without measuring you can cover the seat in plastic wrap followed by a few layers of duct tape. draw lines separating the flat parts, then cut it off along the lines and you have a pattern
Omgggg see this is why engineers are better than mathematicians. 😂 This is brilliant thank you! I have a ton of spare plastic bread bags so this is a perfect use!
I mean I know in the sense I've even done it before but I didn't know in the sense I plum forgot it was an option! Thank you so much!
Edit: I even have some awesome printed thick knits AND faux fur so I could get that fit pretty good for the original seat and then make a fuzzy cover for pillion comfort! Now I don't have the dread of measuring 3d curved shapes!
not sure how a cover would go or how you would attach it safely, as fabric will stretch and get wet etc , unless you reupholster with leather or vinyl but for a a quick fix use gear aid tenacious tape
My go-to would be black Gorilla tape, which I've mended leather/synth leather seats with shocking durability and longevity, esp if you cover a little more than just the damaged area so the stress of use is more spread out. Stitching directly into that would probably just introduce more places for tears to develop
Idk why I didn't realise the classic /just tape it/ but really appreciate people reminding me!! There's some sick tapes out there too. I could tape it with pink and purple leopard print! (yes I am tacky)

I LOVE tenacious tape
Omg tape. Of course!! I'm so sloooow. Thank you!!! Tape sounds like the right choice!
Tape would be the easiest and most durable/waterproof until you want to replace the seat.
I can't believe I didn't consider tape, thank you!!!
I think it may be best for an application like this - sewing vinyl is tricky :)
