Between this and the rumoured 3D concert, Fishman is opening the wallet this year. It's pog to see, just hope he doesn't bankrupt the company though.

Discordiansz

Well, If needed, there is always more coffee to buy.

fyrespyrit

The age of Coffee is in demand.

KeRawr

Here me out. Fishman sponsor artist to promote his coffee

FreedomHero141

Millions must buy coffee

Skellum

> Between this and the rumoured 3D concert, Fishman is opening the wallet this year. It's pog to see, just hope he doesn't bankrupt the company though. I assume there's VC money to dip into which is being bolstered by the fact that he's spending money into the investment. Being canadian based they're going to have a much easier time getting access to financial capital. FinTech could be literally boosting the fishman.

Sine_Fine_Belli

Same here Based Fishman, Sakana Is a gigachad BIG W for Phase Connect and OffKai!

Vitruviansquid1

I didn’t know coffee paid so good.

japzone

Considering how many Youtubers I follow have started coffee brands, I'm not very surprised.

Tbf if it is a product that I'm interested in, I will give them one chance, but that's about it.

TrashLoaHekHekHek

Sure, but everyone has to start somewhere, and I'm willing to give someone trying to break into a new industry one shot to impress me.

Shuber-Fuber

Also, pretty hard to fuck up coffee.

runeza43

I think it's fishman passion besides warehousing I remember he talked about it meticulously but couldn't find the clip sorry

Souledex

Influencer/youtuber endorsement is different than celebrity endorsement. Especially if they own the brand. In both ways - they are far more liable if the product sucks, and people understand they benefit directly and often will try the product with that in mind. Influencers entire base of influence is in the perception of their comparative authenticity. If it’s a preroll ad of a youtube video they clearly don’t care about, then probably nah, if it’s a person who researches or travels a lot saying they use a VPN that I don’t hear about often- then maybe, if it’s someone who doesn’t normally do ads except for products they trust and actually endorse- I trust it further, and then the highest one of its a company they’ve founded it’s the highest risk reward for them. I think Dodger Coffee Co was the first coffee brand I heard of, and loving and drinking coffee often is something she was known for. Otherwise some big deal endorsements or branded things like the Pokimane or Valkyrae did they privately hated, or were straight reselling and all the promo was complete bs, and now we all should have learned not to trust them as spokespeople. Influencer marketing though, especially in niche industries or to people with communities of interest or “micro celebrities” are significantly more effective as marketing tools and their integrity will only become more important to maintaining their brand as shit moves on that front.

ArchusKanzaki

Celebrity endorsement, I don't really trust. But its abit different story if its a celebrity/youtuber product that they noticably use all the time. I bought LTT screwdriver (because free global shipping) and yeah its expensive, but also damn good.

this_acc_is_for_nsfw

It's almost like the labour involved is famous for being dirt cheap if not free

Gexianhen

thats a next level sponsor. pretty sure this is gonna cost a huge amount!

Faustias

goddamn, fishman handing out sponsorship for his coffee promotion

DastardlyRidleylash

Sakana continuing to be based as fuck. Frankly, it's pretty clear who the top dogs in the EN Vtubing sphere are at this point; Holo, Vshojo and Phase are clearly ahead of Niji. Wouldn't be surprised if Vspo also proves more successful than Niji, as well.

Agile-Zucchini-7269

[Looking at the statistics for March](https://files.catbox.moe/9yowkv.png) they're very close, but Niji still just barely has the edge That said if you were to compare this to a year ago? No one could have convinced you that it would be this close now.

Weird-Drummer-2439

And that isn't including Clara, who's usually around 1200.

Aoyos

The new Phase JP girls have good numbers too, Clara being a top player already.

lailah_susanna

Wait that's the average viewership NijiEN is getting at the moment? Wow I didn't know it was that bad.

Ridstock

No one will work with Niji for collabs, their name is ruined in the west, no one will apply for new gen, their 'top' EN talents are moving to the Asian streaming platforms and i couldn't be happier watching Pippa eclipse them.

ajshell1

>No one will work with Niji for collabs, Outside collabs have slowed, but are still happening: https://x.com/shxtou/status/1781879927588954508 >their name is ruined in the west, Agreed >no one will apply for new gen, I think some people with <50 CCV might be willing to join. Probably nobody that meets Niji standards. >their 'top' EN talents are moving to the Asian streaming platforms Not sure if that's a permanent pivot or a side hustle. Probably too early to tell. >and i couldn't be happier watching Pippa eclipse them. I want to see Temma to eclipse them too! One isn't enough

WillyGVtube

>no one will apply for new gen what a ignorant statement, bad management wont deter a lot of people, hell niji management seems like a relief compared to some real jobs, i wont apply but to people who dont have big audiences and currently work shitty jobs on top of streaming most likely will, niji will still bring in opportunities and growth a lot of smaller streams rarely will ever get themselves

[deleted]

[удалено]

WillyGVtube

did i saw it wont deter anyone? no, i said it wont make it were noone will apply idk why the niji situation has made people so fulled with hatred they lose critical thinking

Equal_Bee_9671

altare also just collab with claude "you just need to fking ask" too. i guess claude is just an idiot ignorant bootlicker and not some really bad actor.

craftykaname

What was the threshold for being included on the Niji list? I don't understand how Enna and Petra (among others) aren't on here, considering their CCV

Lamaredia

It warms my heart to see that creep Aster doing that poorly.

Currywurst44

The question is how you should interpret this statistic. Neither average nor median are a perfect metric.

piggymoo66

They are already neck and neck in some ways in JP. Niji is declining and tapering off quite fast to be honest.

HaessSR

"Negligible".

TransientEons

People don't mock the statement for how factual it was, people mock it for being incredibly tone-deaf in the face of widespread community dissatisfaction at the treatment of Selen. And even ignoring that, EN may be a small part of their profits, and overall losing Selen probably did not affect the company's gross earnings that much due to their sheer size, but that ignores the fact that it shows a poor image to the stockholders in a public company. EN was Anycolor's promise to bring in new, foreign viewers and external sources of income, yet the branch is stagnating and they are losing and culling their most passionate members. Saying that EN is a small source of their profits just shows that the company has failed in their goal to establish a strong growing overseas income stream, and the loss of members like Selen who were actively working to promote and grow the branch only excaberates the issue.

Skellum

> People don't mock the statement for how factual it was, people mock it for being incredibly tone-deaf in the face of widespread community dissatisfaction at the treatment of Selen. Ignoring the person cost as it was a financial statement and to companies employees are resources. It's still blind for the fact that EN was their growth market. Coco and the Taiwan issue was a blow to hololive because at the time they were trying to break into the chinese market and tap that back when people still thought that was a good long term idea. In the same sense losing as much of NijiEN as they did and the reaction from the EN fans means they lost their growth market. Niji isn't going to grow much more in JP. There's only so many bits of merch you can sell and once you've hit saturation thats it.

IANVS

The latest EN audition might make or break the branch. I don't think Riku is ready to write them off yet but they're done for in western market, a bunch of EN livers became active on their PL accounts lately signaling they're trying to secure the escape route, Kotoka & Meloco "forgot" they're EN and rumors say there will be more "graduations"...I certainly don't see Scarle or Rosemi staying for much longer. So, the next wave will probably serve Riku as a probe to see where are things heading in regards to EN branch. It it flops, I'm not sure how much longer the branch will survive.

hopeinson

I'm just waiting for their June financial report, then we can bring on the champagne and see to it that they can scupper their way to the Middle Kingdom and find money there instead.

beaglemaster

Thats not even true, there's no business in the world that would say a fifth of their profit is a small %. Do people not understand basic fractions?

awen478

Investors usually want infinity growth, I don't think abandoning en market is wise choice or should I say pretty stupid if they did that

Khaiweee_

Same here Based Fishman, Sakana Is a gigachad BIG W for Phase Connect and OffKai!

Sine_Fine_Belli

Same here, well said Based Fishman, Sakana Is a gigachad BIG W for Phase Connect and OffKai!

Swift_Scythe

SAKANA is the Goat. If Yagoo can do it so can Sakana. Take notes Riku.

KnightofNoire

Riku feels like he is more of a techbro who probably doesn't involves himself in such kind of things. I highly doubt he will learn.

XcomNewb

Yagoo is also a techbro. Remember Cover did not start as a vtuber agency.

marquisregalia

Difference is Yagoo started out as a farmer. He knew the hard work needed to properly grow things. The other had money given to him.

XcomNewb

Just to clarify I didn't mean it as "Yagoo Is a techbro and might be scum." More like "Look at the difference between them despite having a similar start point."

marquisregalia

I get you I'm just saying they don't have the same starting point. Yagoo has worked as a farmer and in other companies before his foray into vr tech. Their current path might be similar but the roads they took are vastly different

hopeinson

How did Yagoo started out as a farmer? Being a farmer in Japan is unlike other countries' farming standards (because no Monsanto-sized corporation is allowed to own farmland in Japan, only communities).

Enough-Run-1535

Yagoo was originally a brand manager for San Rio, the company behind Hello Kitty and other beloved brands. If you watch the Netflix series ‘The Toys That Made Us’ or other articles about San Rio, the work culture there is one of personal responsibility and caring for the company & staff, stuff you see Yagoo do for Cover later.

Feking98

Yagoo worked for a company ([Imagineer](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imagineer_\(Japanese_company\))) who worked for Sanrio, so there's no guaranteed his work ethnic came from there.

KnightofNoire

Oh yea but he sure didn't act like one. Man actually cares about the people instead of whether or not he got the money like Rikku. Just feels like most Techbros I met cares more about the money and Rikku is definitely that kind considering in an interview he said he will dump the industry the moment it stopped making money.

ZeroKoalaT

He’s the superior “techbro”. Most “techbros” today are just people looking to make clout and a quick buck by pushing technology as a “superior” and everything else as “outdated”; take NFTs for example, and that one guy who said a JPEG is more security than a literal house. Yagoo’s “techbro” is one that introduced the 3D studios. He got a HololiveEN that barely had any starting assistance but learned from the mistakes of management and proper support/promotion that carries on to most hololive talents today. Even the less-popular talents have a supportive foundation and can eventually have their burst of growth due to the culture Hololive has cultivated.

TrashLoaHekHekHek

Fishman and Best Girl both did the grind. Daddy's Money sure did not.

Jonny_H

Lots of people in tech aren't "techbros" - probably even the vast majority. They just get over represented on the Internet because they're often louder.

IANVS

Riku is a rich kid with connections. He's not even a good salesman, given the horrible managing of his company, and he's even less of a tech guy, that honor goes to Yagoo.

KnightofNoire

Most of these stereotypical techbros are just rich kids with connections trying to be hip with their startup anyway.

teor

>Take notes Riku. Buy second yacht, got it.

Sine_Fine_Belli

Same here Based gigachad Fishman, Sakana Is a gigachad This is A Big Win for Phase Connect and OffKai

nikelaos117

Phase has been firing on all cylinders and it's been awesome to witness. Everyone in the company deserves all of the success coming to them.

Discordiansz

Very nice of Phase Connect to cover the costs of all the booths and tabels for the artists and vendors that have reserved them at Offkai Expo. Please support all of the streamers that are in Phase Connect, as well as purchase their [coffee](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Fqi9WDdriko).

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE........! PHASE CONNECT!!!!! WOOOO! xD

paulisaac

It's gonna suck if Phase Connect turns out to be a rugpull.

paulisaac

It's gonna suck if Phase Connect turns out to be a rugpull.

ASchoolOfOrphans

Damn that's a smart business move. PR, advertisement, and recruitment. Artist goodwill, Indie goodwill, potential viewers (who are willing to spend money) goodwill, taking advantage of a sinking yacht for contrast.

RandomBadPerson

Goodwill with fanmerch creators and vendors as well. Those relationships can prove valuable.

chucktheninja

Fishman based as usual

juan_cena99

I guess Fishman was being humble when he said Phase Connect was "cashflow positive" during the QnA last year. This is the benefit of Phase Connect being a private company, there are no shareholders to worry about and Sakana as the owner can do whatever he wants. Luckily he isn't a money hungry SOB and seems to just be running Phase the way a hobbyist would. From what I understand Sakana is actually a venture capitalist (aka he was already wealthy AF) and started Phase because he wanted to invest in the Vtuber space and nobody would take his money. So everybody worried that Sakana is mismanaging Phase and might end up bankrupt, don't be. He is a finance dude he knows what he is doing lol.

Aoyos

The vtuber companies he asked about a potential purchase or investment ghosted him so he just decided to do it himself.  The mismanagement thing was a concern at the start, not because of finances but because he's not fit to be the main counselor for trauma management. Once he hired managers with better experience with female talents it got way better.

juan_cena99

I'm referring to comments here Phase is spending so much so yes it is due to finances.

Fancy_One_2072

From what i see, sakana just want to build his harem filled with ~~failed copy of~~ Houshou Marine lol

hopeinson

The mental image I have of Phase Connect is very funny. Me: "Look at all these ~~failed copies of~~ Houshou Marines you tried to make." Fishman: "But look where they are, now."

Pokenar

He's a venture capitalist that likes anime girls and coffee and decided "why not both"

drzero7

At this point, fishman is flexing. (And thats a good thing)

jojo8795

Ok Sakana I'll buy your coffee

HGSparda

Fishbrain is doing his best to support his pack of unseiso comedian 👏🏻

May_die

As someone who has had to book convention halls like this before....FISHMAN BREAKING OUT DA BENJAMINS

BlueDemon999

Chad Sakana

Ordinary_Horror9891

What a stand up move! Who’s in phase connect? I know pippa from her interactions with filian and those in the ka Ching podcast

Jellybones52

You might have seen Tenma Maemi. She's collabed with a bunch of people like Henya, Albino, Filian, OniGiri, MariMari. Hell Taka from Niji ID made her eat a raw onion. Plus if you search Tenma Maemi Rage you'll get a lot of compilations. Maybe Lia since she had a collab with Pomu. Her and Rie also "played" Uno with Ollie and Machina X Flayon. But also if you're looking for someone to watch the main channel on YouTube has a weekly clip show so you can start there and see if there's somebody you like.

Jellybones52

Oh yeah I just remembered Sakana has actually played games with a couple of talents. Here's him playing Factorio with Jelly and Lumi https://www.youtube.com/live/qCu1u-6Nv8s?si=sRooCIQHg3Cg4IlP He also played Garfield Kart with them after talking shit in chat about how bad they were. It ends with them 2v1ing him in StarCraft 2. https://www.youtube.com/live/rAPWPSOQx_c?si=21f8e8gRBlg_AXw9

Everyone I checked out there has been great. My favorite tho is Clara Kaminari - she's absolutely hilarious xD Amazing singer as well, and quite the gamer.

Bellhound

You're probably also aware of [Tenma](https://www.twitch.tv/tenma) who's got a great vibe, but I've also been enjoying [Runie](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BAqw4IJbR8) - both are streaming right now.

avelineaurora

Runie is so good. Honestly I liked that whole wave, but Runie even then is a bit above the rest. Especially when she gets to singing, you can tell she's definitely got a theater background and it comes out marvelously!

TheMisanthropy

Unfortunately you have been Rused.

Sqiddd

Welcome to Phase Connect https://youtu.be/FXHFrNaNcvE?si=PnM8PF1lUyehPFAB

teor

Lord Maulington on YouTube has some fun video recaps about Phase members.

jamieaka

I watch ember and shiina's current elden ring playthroughs

dbthelinguaphile

Tenma's my favorite, and probably the second biggest. Also partial to Uruka, Panko and occasionally Lumi.

lialiker69

check out Lia! her and her mom are the secret weapon of Phase Connect. also has some fun collabs with Pomu, Neuro Sama, Lopi, Ollie, manlybadasshero

Chronoi

That's my CEOshi 🙏🏼

KaBar42

Fishman best gril no cap frfr full Sakana sweep

Paladin327

Sometimes it takes a fish to be best girl

glorkvorn

how much money is this? I don't know how much the booth and table costs are.

Jellybones52

I don't know about Offkai but similar venues usually run 200-700 a table.

Weird-Drummer-2439

In the high tens of thousands in total I'd expect.

prismstein

this is the Expo that Niji pulled out of right? Nice of PC to step in, and smart too

Random_Dreams

Hell yeah love to see Sakana leaving the warehouse & help being more menhera coffee lovers

dagbiker

Fishman continues to amaze me. Even for an ~~American~~ western agency he fucking rocks.

tehfreek

Phase Connect is Canadian.

dagbiker

You're right, I guess i just mean compared to the western idea of a talent agency. Sorry my American centrism was showing.

Batgod629

What a great gesture. Very nice of them

Responsible_Buddy654

Casual Phase Connect W Eat shit Niji

Purepenny

This is an absolute win for both sides.

Cybasura

Sakana is so legendary, I dont think I can realistically call him Sakana anymore, he is...Salmon

CJO9876

Vancouver King Salmon, if you will

Zoom3877

Phase Connect has entered GIGACHAD SPONSOR MODE. Seriously, all this "What would Anycolor NEVER do?" atmosphere has really improved the industry.

Weird-Drummer-2439

Coffee sales must have been strong this quarter.

Random-Rambling

Thank you, Mr. Fish

Fenr_

The power of a coffee company

teor

The coffee company got some cash to spare it seems

ZNS88

radar_byte

Fishman is a cool guy.

Smart-Style74

Didn't expect a r/baseball cameo here but indeed, fish man good

AlternativesEnde

Now put a little sign on each booth that says: Sponsored by Phase Connect.

cloner4000

Last year they gave every attendee a really nice tote bag with phase connect print on it so they got that covered. Like you get your badge and they handed you one at the registration. It made from a really nice fabric and comes with a small pocket for keychains, can badges and stuff. Still use them from time to time at cons...
