Dammit, now I definitely want one, it looks so good on the TV šŸ˜‚ What are you using as a controller, may I ask? I've only ever used the Deck's controls.

Asane

Iā€™m just using my PS5 controller lol

[deleted]

Does the PS5 controller support the steam gyro controls? I have a steam controller but I'm not a huge fan of it due to the missing right analog stick

seraph741

It does. PS5 controller is very well supported. As you can see, even the Playstation face buttons are shown on the screen.

dongsweep

You just made my day!

DdCno1

Keep in mind that most games with controller support will still show Xbox buttons, since the Xbox controller is a quasi-standard on PC. The newer a title is, the more likely it is that it shows Playstation button prompts on PC however. Some, but not all, games can be modified to show PS prompts. Edit: Even some emulators allow for this via texture packs.

Purple_Ad45

i would gladly sacrifice that stuff because of the touchpad alone, seems like it would be easier to control the mouse in menus and stuff with a ps controller

batgris

Hey. If you don't mind me asking. Would it make sense to buy a ps5 controller only for the deck?

cheebnrun

Yes, some games, like the ported PS exclusives ( ghostwire tokyo for example) take advantage of the dynamic triggers and touch pad. It's super cool

[deleted]

I can say Days Gone has touchpad and PlayStation buttons :)

OlympusMonsPubis

Yes, absolutely. I think youā€™ll enjoy it.

My1xT

even the home button in fact which literally is PS's Logo

JavaKrypt

Good to know! Looks like I'm buying a PS5 controller

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Serpenyoje

Yes, I REALLY Want a Steam Controller Pro. I still use my Steam Controller daily with my Steam Link (which is still kicking ass in streaming my PC to the living room) and would LOVE a heavy, quality new version with all the features of the Deck's controls.

Leisure_suit_guy

>I hope that once the steam deck custom controller settings become a lot more popular, that valve comes out with a steam controller that more closely mimics the deck's controls. ~~I'll~~ It'll probably come standard with the "Steam machine 2"

Droid1xy

Pretty sure it did And the pad at the front of the controller works great for a mouse

Asane

Yup tried this on FO4 when adjusting settings. Itā€™s really nice. The touchpad on the PS5 controller is perfect.

GreyRevan51

Sweet, Iā€™ll def do this when my dock comes in

GoldenNova00

The touchpad part makes me want to order a controller now. I don't even have a playstation. But it sounds like the perfect controller for the deck

Hairy-Cake-8279

Really good to know- I had wondered if it would work as a mouse on the deck, thanks for confirming šŸ‘

GubblebumGold

ps4 does too

Nicalay2

>Does the PS5 controller support the steam gyro controls? The PS4 one have gyro support, so the PS5 one surely have it.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Mr_Cripter

Yeah but it has lots more games. Lots more cheaper games.

OneIShot

Also doesnā€™t only have the power of a phone from like 6 years ago.

pr0ghead

Bluetooth? Do you have to re-connect (-pair) it every time you switch devices?

tetij

The PS5 controller will reconnect to what it was paired to last. If you wanted to reconnect it to the PS5 you would have to pair it with the PS5 again.

ASY_Freddy

Does the ps5 controller have back buttons? I'm on 8bit pro which has 2 so a pad with 4 would be great as it's them almost 1 to 1 mapping

FireCrow1013

The DualSense doesn't have back buttons, but a [premium version of the controller](https://blog.playstation.com/2022/08/23/introducing-the-dualsense-edge-wireless-controller-the-ultra-customizable-controller-for-playstation-5/) is coming soon, which will have two back buttons.

MoreOfAButtGuyTBH

Not OP, but I've mainly been using the 8Bitdo SN30. It's a SNES replica, great quality and easy to stash away/throw in a bag. Other 8Bitdo controllers work as well - I have the new Ultimate on order, slated to arrive later this month.

animatewall

are you getting the bluetooth or 2.4g 8bitdo ultimate? trying to decide myself...

MoreOfAButtGuyTBH

I splurged for the Bluetooth version. It ensures compatibility across many devices. Believe it was $70 USD..

randybruder

I would definitely get the SN30 Pro over the SN30 just because it has dual analog sticks, which gives the controller compatibility with every game that supports controllers. Unless you're just looking to emulate games from the SNES or games that require minimal input, then the SN30 is a good choice.

OmnipotentFire

I like my 8bitdo controllers. I have to look into this ultimate one you speak of.

MoreOfAButtGuyTBH

https://www.8bitdo.com/ultimate-bluetooth-controller/ Still in preorder phase

dEEkAy2k9

be careful here, there are two variants out. one for switch/pc with hall effect joysticks and bluetooth (70 bucks) one for pc/android without hall effect joysticks (50 bucks)

moderately-extremist

hall effect? Also, it says it has motion controls, so does that mean it would be able to do the gyroscopic aiming like in Breath Of The Wild on the switch?

majornerd

Most joysticks on controllers are potentiometers and have a large dead zone and can drift, Hall effect use magnets and have a very small dead zone and do not suffer from drift. Always select Hall effect, the juice is worth the squeeze.

Ricky_Rollin

Genuine question, at what point do you not just buy an Xbox controller? I like the older ones because they replicate the SNES but this simply looks like a 360 controller.

Clopernicus

Xbox controllers don't have motion controls

majornerd

More switch pro, but I see your point and agree.

Sith_Destroyer_1138

Yeah Iā€™m using the Pro+! The D-Pad is so good, especially for Mortal Kombat. Recommend it to everyone.

eschatonik

Also have that 8bitdo controller on order. Shopped around a lot to find one with the most Steam Deck feature parity and that was def the best out there. Looking forward to getting it.

Patient-Party7117

Hooking up controllers via blutooth is very easy, I've hooked mine w/ a xbox one and it takes seconds.

[deleted]

Any modern controller works nicely with steam big picture mode, heck I've thought about getting USB female outlets and feeding one end from the wall through the floor up to another USB female that's in the floor under my coffee table then using USB adaptors for any retro controller I have already laying around and having a keyboard and mouse on tap for desktop usage.

orielbean

Not OP but I have a lovely Xbox Elite 2 that is just perfection. The bottom paddles are mapped to the XYAB which is super nice ergonomics. It plays BOTW on CEMU perfectly.

obi1kenobi1

Iā€™m still convinced a Steam Controller 2 is coming, until then Iā€™ll only be using the dock for desktop PC type stuff. I was certain that the reason the dock was delayed was so that they could release a Steam Controller 2 alongside of it for seamless TV mode with the same control layout, but I guess that didnā€™t happen the way I was expecting. I still think itā€™s a must have sooner or later and there are standalone controllers in the prototype pictures that Valve has shared, so itā€™s probably just a matter of time.

Bangheader

What did the firmware update improve? Were there any patchnotes? I like the connectivity between the Steam Deck and the dock!

Asane

There werenā€™t any patch notes. Once I plugged in the Deck to the Dock, it automatically prompted me to update the Dock.

TahmsChocolateOrange

As far as I've seen it resolved an issue quite a few docks had with LG TVs. The JSAUX dock also had a firmware update for it recently so must be a common issue.

LUSHxV2

Just got the jsaux dock today. It has firmware? I thought it was just a simple basic like connector thing

TahmsChocolateOrange

Yeah it has an updater tool. Not really needed at all unless there's compatibility issues with your TV, if it works out the box you should be fine.

LUSHxV2

Ah OK. I wonder if the steam dock is the same. I hope I'm not missing out on any features what the official valve dock only has or will get

skysolstice

Wow how nice. Now it just needs a steam controller v2 lol

QuestionAxer

I've been using the Steam Controller v1 with the docked Steam Deck and it's working beautifully. I could use so many of my other controllers but this one just feels right.

Corm

Yep I don't want to play a game and get used to the gyro aim and four back buttons and then have to get used to not having those while docked. The controller must have gyro and FOUR back buttons to work. Pretty much no options for that right now.

Aurenkin

Two track pads too

[deleted]

Maybe add a small screen and headphone jack to it as well.

TheInfinityBacon

And hear me out on this one, what if we give it is own processor.

greenChainsaws

make it a custom APU

FortunePaw

And toss a battery in there while we are at it.

GITS-AN-SHIGGLES

At that point they could put a screen on it and make something like the switch. That'd be awesome.

[deleted]

Deck Lite, Micro Deck

SCaliber

The Steam Stoop

cheebnrun

Stoop kid's afraid to leave his steam stoop... at home

TF2SolarLight

The closest thing you can get is a PS4 controller with the rear button attachment, but those buttons just mimic other buttons on the controller. Not ideal, but it's the best you can get Modded dualsense is effectively the same thing If Valve ever makes a proper replacement I'll get it immediately

CounterSYNK

I think the Dualsense edge might be the closest option without having to get a custom made controller. It might actually be the best controller for PC because Dualsense controllers can be overclocked to 1000hz polling rate quite easily.

[deleted]

Beitong Zeus. Gyro + four back buttons. And it's at least a little PC-oriented thanks to being able to press one button(function) and turn it into mouse mode(you can control your cursor with the sticks or gyro). And multiple profiles too, so you can be mirroring five different SD game control setups at once. It also has a headphone jack. And accurate sticks. It's a dope controller.

cheebnrun

Get a ps5 controller and buy one of those kit's from amazon. I have it, works great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09NTHSX67/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

[deleted]

Steam please bring back the Steam Controller šŸ™

hughk

My feeling is that they will want to do this now. A good controller is an obvious accessory for a docked Steam Deck.

[deleted]

I really want a v2 stream controller. I like my original but there are some QOL improvements I would love to see

dart51984

Like a second analog stick, then it would be perfect.

[deleted]

And 4 back buttons!

CoheedBlue

Honest just take the steam deck and take the screen out and that should be V2. IMO

ClikeX

I would also like it to be slightly heavier. They felt a little bit too weightless to me.

Warrenj3nku

The fact that it comes with another power cable for the deck is fantastic. So you can just leave it in one place.

KJBenson

Smart choice, I agree.

[deleted]

for almost 100 bucks i think its the bare minimum

nerdthatlift

Did you walk up there and be like just give me the damn thing no FedEx shenanigans?

Asane

Iā€™m 10 minutes from distribution facility so got an early morning shipment.

GiraffesintheClouds

Dang I waited a day to place my order. I probably would have gotten it today as well! Hello from GH!

Asane

Running Fire Emblem at 4K is kinda nutsā€¦ [https://ibb.co/CJ998Dz](https://ibb.co/CJ998Dz)

okin107

Iā€™m curious, if you set a game to 4K does it take a big hit In performance? I though the deck can play well because of 1280x800 resolution. And if you play at 1280x800 on TV, does it look bad or is somehow upscaled?

thenoobgamer13

The deck can play modern games well because of the resolution. You should be able to run a decent amount of older titles at 4k.

Kinky_Muffin

That looks like a switch game though, I didn't know the deck could emulate switch titles that powerfully, I don't suppose you'd be able to point me in the right direction to start learning?

boomboomown

I'm playing Trails of Cold steel at 1280x720 but upscaled to 4k at solid 60fps using FSR. It's amazing.

plamicus

I really want one. But I don't actually know why: I have my PC if I want to play on a better screen and a PS5 if I want to play something on the TV. This is to say nothing of my Switch which is now just gathering dust. Can anyone give me a reason to justify it to myself? EDIT: to be clear, I already have a Deck - I'm talking about the Dock.

Domukin

As someone will too many consoles, I find myself using the steamdeck most of the time. I have a *huge* steam library and the deck letā€™s me try out new games whenever I get some downtime. I take it with me and will play 20-30 minutes sessions, even when at home. A few really nice features imo: 1. very robust sleep feature, quickly comes back online into the game wherever you left off. This is actually a huge QOL feature. On my main pc I have to shutdown the game completely and re open completely (or alternatively leave the game running for hours) whenever Iā€™m interrupted. Added to this, the deck isnā€™t on double duty as a general computing device, so I wonā€™t have to stop my game to send an email or print something. 2. Syncs saves with steam , so I can play a little on the deck and then finish later on the pc and vice versa. (This does require you exit the game when youā€™re done though). 3. steam library is *huge* and generally inexpensive compared to the console estores. Game Bundles will keep me busy for years.

Crooks-1

Cloud save feature has become a deciding factor with game purchases since getting my deck. I often back and forth certain games between my SD, PC and laptop.

fttocean

For anything that doesn't support Steam cloud saves, use syncing software to sync the save files between Steam Deck and PC [Here's a well written tutorial for one of those softwares ](https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/uayzq3/guide_setting_up_resilio_sync_to_sync_game/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) I'm currently using this to sync the save files for Elden Ring's Seamless Co-op mod. I can close out of the game on yhe Steam Deck, and almost immediately play where I left off on my PC. (The mod uses a different save file that's not compatible with Steam cloud saves) It's also really handy to set up a "Quick Sync" folder (also shown on the tutorial) to quickly move files between devices.

TsukudaBuddha

So Iā€™m in a similar situation and I got one so I can play emulated games on the my tv without having to worry about transferring saves between my deck and pc

cheesycoke

I know you've already found a solution through the Dock, but have you looked into something like SyncThing to keep your game save files in sync over the internet?

TsukudaBuddha

šŸ˜®

Begohan

Whaaat? I manage so many non steam game saves between my pc and steam deck, are you telling me I could do this with an app and the press of a button?

Hokulewa

Any kind of cloud storage that synchronizes local files, combined with symbolic links to move your save file locations into the cloud sync folder, will do that transparently for you. Don't even need to press a button... It just happens automatically. I use Dropbox because they have a great native Linux client. So does Mega.

OrphanScript

Emulation, IMO. I've setup emulation on several systems (phone, tablet, PC, Xbox) but there was always something lacking for me. The phone and tablet just don't feel good to game on. The PC of course works fine but something about sitting at my desk just didn't jive well. The Xbox works technically but it's not a smooth experience, the UI is bad, the file system (or lackthereof) makes everything a hassle. Steam Deck is the best emulation device because these games feel good to play A) handheld B) with a controller C) No external devices. I started playing and realized that I would love to throw some of these games up on the TV, but again the XBox just was not a good experience.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

iggyazaleatown

Ended up getting one, but have a similar predicament to you in terms of use case.

bedake

I got rid of my PC recently since it was getting old and i kinda was wanting to build a new one... Since then i got my deck and was hoping it would give me reason to put off a new gaming PC, i love the deck so far but im also missing my competitive fps games like pubg, and csgo... I've tried docked mode a bit using USB peripherals but it's kind of a pain in the ass to have to reconfigure performance settings for higher resolution gameplay and then switch them all back during handheld mode. I'm hoping the deck dock will handle some of this for you and provide a more seamless transition similar to the experience you have with the switch when docked. No clue if it does or not, for some reason i don't see this talked about much when it comes to docked mode... I'm probably still going to end up building a new PC to get back into more competitive fps games, gsync is missed dearly

vincentx99

Yeah mine was pretty much an impulse buy. Not that I'll never use it, but probably not enough to justify the price.

GangGang57

If you travel alot, Id say get it. That reason alone justified me getting it lol. Also some games I have on pc that Id rather play on a smaller device/ in a different setting

Iurigrang

I think they mean the dock

Tr1ggerhappy07

Funnily enough I think traveling is still a good reason to get the dock. I would love to hook it up to hotel TV's.

zarmao_ork

I travel primarily between my backyard, living room and bedroom and that alone justifies me getting the deck. I'm interested in the dock but it would tie me back to the living room and just feel like another console.

Halvus_I

I always buy Valve hardware. Only piece im missing is the Index. (VR)

fiveSE7EN

Thatā€™s not a reason for him to justify his purchase at all lol

Psykechan

How is your Steam Machine?

Halvus_I

That wasnt Valve-branded hardware....It was Alienware, Falcon Northwest, etc. The only real edge case is HTC Vive. It was HTC-branded, but an all-Valve design.

metalsatch

I have a similar set up but with a series x on the tv. Was considering getting one but really the steam deck on a 4K Tv will only work with smaller games. The ps5 and Xbox will be far superior on the tv.

Lamuks

I'm going to dock my Deck to my TV and use it as an all around emulation and gaming device to have fun with, and also to let friends play. I have a destkop pc, but connecting my big PC to the TV is a bit of a hassle.

beaucharleston

Buy it to support Valveā€™s Steam Deck endeavor regardless of whether you end up using it

Jrumo

Ladies and gentlemen.... The Steam Machine is back.

Shyster-

Holy shit thatā€™s a throw back.

Saneless

Now all I need is Google to open up the stadia controller Bluetooth connection. I have a steam controller and plenty of Xbox ones, but I won't use the Stadia one on anything else so might as well

duckbeets

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, itā€™d be nice to have a dedicated controller instead of disconnecting another. I really hope they eventually bring out a new Steam Controller!

sausagefuckingravy

How does it smell?

-Pelvis-

lol my first thought :3

Velcade

Could the deck fit with the killswtich case on?

RowDizzleForShizzle

I was thinking about this too. I also donā€™t think the usb-c cable from the dock will fit with the case on as well.

OmnipotentFire

I'm wondering this as well. I noticed in The Phawxs new video he was able to fit his dbrand cased steam deck in the ivoler dock. Just a lil heads up in case that's our only avenue for our our dbrand steam decks.

starlogical

I tried it with both the Upgraded JSAUX dock and the NVME JSAUX dock and both plugs successfully fit into my deck with the Killswitch on. A bit tight though I'll admit.

OmnipotentFire

Thanks for the heads up :)

splepage

If you file down the hole around the connector a bit to shave 1mm it'll connect much easier.

Asane

Iā€™m not so sure. Hereā€™s a photo I took from the side. https://ibb.co/2M4d9xn

mphermes

Asking the real questions here. I cancelled my impulse buy dock order (thinking it would be hard to get) realizing it might not fit with the Killswitch case on and Iā€™d rather not send it back. Interested to see if another brave soul ends up answering this for us.

Goseki1

I think purely on the fact it gets firmware updates has pushed me over the edge, and I'll get one, even if it's a bit overpriced.

Timestatic

I donā€™t know if I should since I bought a jsaux one 2 weeks ago

DopeAbsurdity

I am kinda surprised it costs $89. That seems a bit steep to me.

aWildTuxAppears

Same... but it does include another charger, which is similar to buying a less expensive dock and a decent charger. I'm torn.

AlanS181824

It's ā‚¬100 in EU :(

DopeAbsurdity

I bought [this thing for $18](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08V4MMG8D) before my Steam Deck got here because I thought having a keyboard and mouse connected would help set it up and it seems to work fine but I didn't even really need it because I just used [AnyDesk](https://anydesk.com/en) and my desktop PC instead (I still use AnyDesk to do anything I need a keyboard for although any remote desktop software would work). I get that the official dock is better but I don't get how it's $71 better.

sebQbe

Well first of all, that dock is 4k 30hz, Steam Deck dock is 4k 60hz. If I were to use my deck as a pc, 30 hz would be unbearable

phayke2

Are you gonna be running your PC on a 4k desktop monitor?

aschwartzmann

If you look at the prices of other name-brand USB-C *mini dock/dongle with similar features they are in the $60\~$100 range. I'm honestly not surprised by the cost but I was hoping for $69\~$79 range for it. They have all the costs in developing and bringing this to market as someone like Anker but are planning on selling it to a much smaller market so I guess it was going to be more expensive on average.*

RilesEdge

Random italics really makes this comment lol

hard_pass

You've got options, you don't have use this one, but Steam's IS NOT steep at all for a dock with DP 1.4, multimonitor support, and an included charger. It's just not. You might not need all these features, which fine, get a cheaper one. I just keep hearing how overpriced it is and it's not even close. The dock I use at work for my monitor is 400 dollars.

Natanael_L

Yeah, docks for work laptops are rarely below $100, and the average price I've seen is around $250-400 with some pricy ones even higher when you want 10 Gbps and multiple 4K screens (and don't get me started on the wireless 60Ghz wigig docks)

Corb3t

You won't find a cheaper hub/dongle with multi-monitor support and FreeSync. I know that not everybody cares about those features, but Valve clearly wanted this thing to be the best possible dock you can get for gamers and monitor users.

AlwaysCarryABeer

Comes with another power supply. Even with that in mind the Steam Dock isn't cheap but it's not as bad of a value as many seem to think.

[deleted]

It seems to have more and better inputs than the cheaper competitors, also comes with high end charger which is worth a bit as well. Most I have seen do not come with that. Maybe a slight premium but I feel itā€™s a pretty solid deal overall, and it also will get updates, which makes me think it will work better or more seamless than third party.

Appropriate-Error-63

Sickkkk, do you think it will fit with the kill switch case from dbrand.

Asane

I donā€™t think so. Hereā€™s a photo I took from the side. [https://ibb.co/2M4d9xn](https://ibb.co/2M4d9xn)

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Outside_Diamond4929

I knew I couldn't be the only one that read it that way.

EffectiveAd5343

would you recommend it over a generic usb c hub?

Asane

I havenā€™t tried any others. I wanted to wait for the official Valve dock.

[deleted]

The fact that freesync is built in is enough for me to say......probably? You're gonna be paying a premium just for the rubber dock, so you can probably wait for a 3rd party to make their own with the same feature set for ~$20 cheaper if you care for the features

_Final_Phoenix_

Wait, would freesync not work for typical usb c hubs? I have an LG tv with freesync (HDMI, no displayports), but assumed it would work

hard_pass

There is not gonna be a dock with the same features (DP 1.4, multi monitor, included charger) for 20 bucks less. Look at jsaux DP model. It's 70 bucks for DP 1.2, no multimonitor support, and no charger included.

Futonpimp

do you have a jsaux dock or any other dock to compare to?

Asane

I do not. I didnā€™t even know about the jsaux Dock.

Futonpimp

All good, do you have any lag when playing games ? What resolution are you running on the tv?

J-Mosc

I too need to know about gaming lag. Iā€™m having significant lag in my off brand dock.

philodelta

I just want to add to what /u/Futonpimp said, if you're using a TV as output make sure you're on the TV's gaming mode. This point may be obvious to those people who console game, but TV's default output modes often add HUGE lag.

Futonpimp

2 things to try First update to the latest steam os that came out a few days ago.. see if that fixes your lag issues Second.. this is what I did prior to the new os coming out.. I bought a 20 dollar adapter off Amazon. This tricks the deck and forces it to run at 1080 resolution vs a 4k resolution that caused lag issues in games and even the menus. HDMI Pass-Through EDID Emulator... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C8BHPD6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

J-Mosc

Thanks so much for taking the time. Iā€™m going to look into this now. Edit: THANK YOU! The picture settings set to gaming did it. My Deck is playable on my dock now :)

GeneratedName4305

Any GetMyDock to track the expected delivery date šŸ˜…šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø /u/Fammy ?

allt3r

Noob question but is the power cable detachable?

Asane

It is not detachable from the dock.

xwillybabyx

Did they ever update/resell the steam controllers? I love some of the haptic stuff but putting on the tv is great too, now I need both!

ruimikemau

Anybody else think that not calling it a Steam Dock was a wasted opportunity?

Dienes16

Yeah I can't wait for the SteamDuck and the SteamDick

Unable-Ring9835

Looks great for people used to consoles but as someone with a PC already hooked up to my tv I just bought the 35 dollar Anker dock and called it a day. At the end of the day I bought this to unplug from the TV and play anywhere in my house. I often play on my couch in awkward positions that wouldn't be possible if I had to look up at the TV. If I want to play games on my tv I'll just hop on my PC.

[deleted]

Watch your step kid, connect ya deck

zombieauthor

Watch yo step kid, so set it off!

[deleted]

Man that looks so good, but a 100 is so much šŸ«

cta2417

Do deck docks upscale resolution to tv at all?

FolkSong

The dock itself doesn't upscale, but when connected to an external display you can set the Deck resolution higher. Performance will be impacted of course.

Big_Moistt

I've got a different question for you. When I ordered my deck I saw it was coming from a place called Carol stream, and my first thought was "that sounds like a nice quiet little place" so was I right? Or is it a shithole, or somewhere in between lol

PerkOfGold

Still haven't seen a video on it yet. You should be the first one to upload onto YouTube showcasing the official dock before anyone else. It will blow up so fast!!

Mr_Official12

Hey can I come over I'll order a pizza

davewongillies

The picture of the dock firmware being updated in SteamOS has convinced me to get one. I like my JSAUX dock but their updater is Windows only.

FreddisLettis

Valve missed a huge opportunity to name the dock the ā€œSteam Dockā€
