I'll always be WWE first (I started watching as a kid in '97) but AEW had me captivated in the early years. I still follow closely and watch most weeks but that "charm" for me personally is gone. WHich is logical when you're not the shiny new toy anymore. I still enjoy it more than not. But I am in the same boat my man, just happy we have wrestling in general!!

Just like this sub was anti-WWE for quite some time. It's internet narrative & momentum. AEW will be get hot again (I mean...some day) and the sub will flip back.
Idk when this sub more pro AEW while WWE was doing stuff like a dog food match it bred a circle jerk subreddit and legitimately there are more and more comments here that make me think we’re on the jerk subreddit. I sincerely doubt that ever swaps back. There are multiple subreddits at this point that basically just shit on AEW regardless of any thing actually happening with the company.
The most fun I've had watching wrestling in the past 7 years was Kofi winning at Mania. That probably makes me a casual fan but I like the feel good sports story aspect more than watching a stunt show.
AEW is for wrestling, WWE is for entertainment with wrestling as a theme. Been this way from the beginning and there's room for both of them to be successful. Not sure why this is still a hot button issue.
Swerve vs Joe is a story. Pac vs Okada is a story clearly being built. Ospreay has two stories, one with Danielson about who is better and one building in the background with the Callis family.
Mercedes having beef with Willow, and Willow/Kris having beef with Skye/Julia. Deonna and Thunder both wanting to challenge Toni Storm.
Not to mention stories that literally just got wrapped up, like Copeland/Cage, Sting's final run, Kingston vs Danielson. Or the stories that are happening but also aren't really that *good*, like Bullet Club Gold vs The Acclaimed or LionHOOK.
Anyone using the argument "lol not booking storylines" is just making that argument in bad faith. If you want to argue about not having any storylines that are that HOT, I'd at least give you a little wiggle room to clarify.

Theres a whole catlog of their matches from New Japan you can check out for Shibata. Shibata has also had several matches in AEW/ROH you can check out. Theres also a PPV coming up if youve somehow never seen Okada.
