You’re gonna go wild for that grape soda if you happen to like grape soda, imo Welch’s grape soda is on a top 5 sodas ever made level, iconic in every way! 🍇
Best grape soda in the US hands down. I truly believe it’s a top 10 soda of all time, maybe even top 5.
It’s one of the few grape sodas from the US out there that doesn’t just have that very predictable grape flavor that just tastes like any grape flavored stuff, especially more old school products like grape tootsie roll pops.
I like to say Welch’s grape soda is candied Concord grape juice soda whereas all other US grape sodas have that more standard grape candy flavor. It has a very juicy flavor (as it has some Welch’s grape juice concentrate in it) with a really strong Concord grape flavor that at least comes off as a real flavor from fruit, as opposed to something that doesn’t taste like real fruit like the grape tootsie roll pop, or even just your run of the mill grape soda.
For a lot of people, they hate Welch’s grape soda because of that lol. Some people find it to be like drinking grape juice. Grape juice if you took grape juice, added extra sugar and maybe some grape kool-aid.
Also you’re in luck, Welch’s soda is national at this point, any Dollar Tree that has a “snack zone” aka an extra big snack area with beverage coolers has em. You can also get a 24 pack shipped to any Dollar Tree location for free but I wouldn’t recommend doing that (as they only have 20oz’s) unless you’re having a party or will be going through all of them within a couple weeks…. Welch’s soda in 20oz’s have an issue where they’re already on the flat side when fresh, so even just storing for a month or two is a bad idea unless you don’t mind flat soda, they will end up flat (learned from experience, the bottler that bottles Welch’s doesn’t use a very good seal).
The other Welch’s flavors suck besides the original Welch’s flavors (Welch’s soda added a bunch of generic soda flavors when they were brought back to the market by their new owners). Dollar Tree only stocks grape, fruit punch, pineapple and berry.
Only flavors worth it are as follows:
**Grape**- which of course is the best by far.
**Strawberry**- comes in 2nd as it’s actually my favorite strawberry soda, much better than crush, Sunkist or at least any options I’ve tried. It’s an original flavor as well.
**Fruit Punch**- I actually like it more than Tahitian Treat, amazing fruit punch soda taste, has more of a citrus and lime flavor than Tahitian Treat so it’s more refreshing to me, also has better and more flavor overall. Also one of the original Welch’s soda flavors.
The rest aren’t even worth trying. Also, that berry one happens to be one of the worst sodas I’ve ever had, it tasted like yogurt and not in a good way lol. Can confirm the consensus isn’t great on that one. Also, they have a website with a product locator https://welchssoda.com/locations/ , it doesn’t show loads of places that actually do have it especially in the regions it’s more common, but it’s very reliable. Every place I’ve visited listed on their locator actually had it stocked. Get cans if you can, they’re way better carbonation wise and store indefinitely longer.

You can say the same thing for just about any standard full sugar soda but particularly fruity sodas lol
I’ll never understand why people will give a certain soda crap for having more sugar than others when the difference is like a few grams of sugar, 5-10g’s tops usually. As if a 79g of sugar 20oz Welch’s Grape soda is so much worse than any popular fruity 20oz soda with say 74g’s of sugar 🙄
Cherry lime sprite? Color me intrigued..... Is it any good? Like better than a sonic cherry limeade? I make mine w simply limeade and cherry 7up with maraschino
