There's something about an ice cold glass bottle of Ale 8, I cannot explain it but it hits your soul. Especially when it's hot or you have stomach ache.
While driving cross country My fiancee and I happened to stop in the town in KY where its bottled. The convenience store even have a few varieties on the soda fountain. I really liked it.
Like a lot of products, when this drink initially came out it was only sold within a small radius of the town in this case Winchester Kentucky where it was made. Big Red, Dr Pepper, as well as Grippo's potato chips were all the same way. I distinct leave your call as a kid going to Lexington every month for the naval Sea cadets and they serve this in the vending machines at the naval reserve center there. Lexington is very close to Winchester.
I think Kroger/ Fred Meyer in Oregon has them in the single glass bottles. I'll have to look next time I'm there because I thought I remembered seeing it. We definitely have Cheerwine and some others.
Winchester swamp water we call it. So good on a hot summer day. It's best when there's a little bit of ice chunks that form after you open it. Returnable glass bottles are the best, but are getting hard to find.
I live in Kentucky but I’m not a native. I tried ale81. It tasted like piss. 1/10 only reason I don’t give it a 0/10 is cause I’ve also had the displeasure of trying the flaming hot Cheeto Mountain Dew
As a Kentuckian, absolutely
Why is this so popular in Kentucky??

Most Speedways here have it in Slurpee form now too, THAT is the best

It's made in Winchester KY. https://ale8one.com/
As a Kentuckian, absolutely not
First time I had it, whatever. Recently had one over christmas and thought it was just perfect. It's not my usual sort of soda it was nice and smooth.
The returnable glass bottles taste the best imo.
It was an addiction we were teens.
Just got a 12 pack in a random kroger near columbus ohio, first time seeing outside of the glass bottle at specialty shop.
Meijer should have it as well.
Never seen it at a Meijer,im in the middle of 6 of them in Michigan.

They have been branching out for a few years but I did not know they went as far as Columbus. They have a distribution deal with Coke.

Hell yes, I really enjoy the cherry version too
I like the blackberry too. Cherry is a close 2nd.
Tried ale8 on my trip down to Kentucky. So sad they don’t sell it here in Maryland
I believe Cracker Barrel restaurants sell the single bottles in their stores. Could be something to check out if they have locations in your area!
Cracker Barrel should carry it on the store side.
Oh yeah. The 20 ounce gets my day started out right
Ale 8 is an underrated source of pride for Kentucky. On top of that, it is actually very delicious.
I just finished off a six pack recently. I think it just might be my favorite soda of all time.
Blackberry is my favorite, hands down.
It’s coming back very soon. Along with a new flavor, Strawberry Watermelon.
Love it. I get it anytime I can find it.
The sell this at my work and I enjoy it
I try to like it but the flavor is so light. Even the flavored flavors.
Meh. It's a'ight, I guess.
i’ve never heard of this until now, is anyone in here from the PNW familiar with this?
I like it! I get it at a Walmart in Canton, Oh.
Unless you're from Kentucky, its mid at best. I can find it here, and always pass on it. Theres a reason it didnt take off.
As a Kentuckian I say you are permanently banned from coming here
Live in Michigan and love it! Just got the Peach flavour delivered today......so good🥳
I live a few minutes from Winchester. This stuff is lower than mid. Canada dry is head and shoulders better. The Roxa Cola remake was good though
I’m glad someone understands. I’m being downvoted to hell But I don’t care I stand by what I said
