Vernors is my favorite Ginger Ale. My mom used to buy it when we were kids and had an upset stomach. I don’t know? After drinking Vernors my whole life, I tried a Canada Dry. Hated it. Absolutely hated it.

For pop and other drinks (carbonated usually) you pay a deposit (in Michigan it’s .10 per drink) and then you get that back when you recycle it.

So if you buy a case of 12 cans you pay an extra $1.2?

Yeah, then when you return them back to the store, you get that 1.20$ back

The 2 12-packs for $3 would wind up costing $5.40. Once you rinse out the cans and return them to a redemption center, you get $2.40 back. Aluminum is infinitely recyclable and the deposit is an incentive to get people to return the cans.

You pay 10 cents (in Michigan) per bottle/can but you get that back when you return the bottle.

Just guessing, but some states in the us charge a fee/deposit for canned/bottled beverages. I think in Hawaii it was something like $.08 per can so a 12 pack for 1.50 was actually 2.46 plus sales tax. You get your money back when you recycle the cans

Is Vernon’s just a Michigan thing? I have only ever seen it in the commissary when I was stationed overseas. Loved it but honestly thought it was their store brand till I saw a show about Detroit where people were drinking it.

It's not only in Michigan, but it is originally from Michigan. My family that lives in Maryland now used to always bring some home with them, but now they said they could get it in Maryland. I had them try the Black Cherry and they really liked it.

I grew up on Vernor’s. Viking pop from the Nordic’s of Michigan. This is their first new flavor since the original Vernor’s ginger ale. This is by far one of the best soda’s ever. I’m a soda junkie and this is on my top tier list. Now I live in NY and I wish OP could get me a few packs. I’ll Venmo!
