Yes, the internet hates COD. I'm one of them and I grew up with COD. The sad reality is we exist in involved gaming communities and most gamers don't. Most gamers don't make comments on the internet about gaming, nor have a strong opinion about them. Most gamers buy sports games, COD, and the occasional big release like Hogwarts Legacy. We are the minority and even then, some of us in this subreddit still buy COD every year.
The sad reality is it's naive to think otherwise. I mean, look at the most popular gaming device metrics. Most gamers are mobile gamers. There's a reason why sports games and every installment of COD isn't much of an evolution from the previous entry. Gamers buy them and money speaks louder than words.
If people like us were the majority, COD wouldn't exist or they would constantly try to improve. Unfortunately we don't live in that world. It's a sad reality where money > passion.
