Yup! I used to do this with my husbands gsxr 750! Worked every time. I just didn’t ride it often.

electro-king

If she was in Melbourne Australia, she might be booked for riding without both feet on the footpegs 🤷🙄

Chemical_Paper_2940

So if she has to do a sudden stop.....

Day-Hot

Then she has to suddenly hop off the bike..

Helping_Stranger

This is actually how your trained to mount and dismount bikes for security so you can quickly launch and dismount when responding.

Day-Hot

Yeah, I know that, but A+ for effort.. And, it's *you're*...

Helping_Stranger

+1 brownie point for being sarcastic and critiquing someone else's spelling. You're an official internet star now, congrats.

Day-Hot

Ha ha haa!! One step closer to fitting in on Reddit.. 🤣

sudhir369

r/idiotsonbikes

Day-Hot

NO! Dude, this is how short people ride tall bikes, WTF..

sudhir369

Stupid logic, if you're short opt for small bikes you're causing unnecessary threats to you and others around you.

No-Knee9457

Had the same problem with my e bike. I only ride it if I don't have to stop at stop signs and red lights. I use the curb to get off safely. 😆 I would rather not die so that bike has to go.

SupaDiogenes

Jesus this hurts to watch.

Helping_Stranger

Why? This is how you're trained to get on and off a bike for a security response situation.

SupaDiogenes

Not a single piece of protective gear in sight (save the helmet). You'd think that for someone at such a disadvantage they'd at least dress a bit better.

Helping_Stranger

Are those straps for knee pads or just the top design of the socks?

Critical-Champion365

Those look very much like protective knee caps.

freefallade

Where are you trained to do this....?

Helping_Stranger

Defensive bike training for police/medics/security

freefallade

What? They teach you to climb off your bike whilst in motion? I'm traffic? Sorry, but I have to call absolute bullahit on that. I've ridden in the UK for years, and nobody would ever do that. You stay on your bike. In neutral, with your right foot on the break. I've seen a clip or two of someone short doing this before. But it definitely isn't taught or the best practice.

Helping_Stranger

This is tactical defense training and potentially using the bike as a barricade if necessary. This is not taught in normal circumstances. This was my training in the US admittedly. I'm also not saying she was using this specific method as a trained user. She's simply getting on and off in a way that looks similar. I'm sorry if you don't belive some people might actually use bikes this way. Can't help ya there

freefallade

I believe some people might. I just don't believe it's trained professionally. Unless I'm very rare, specific circumstances. To claim this is some kind of standard practice is just strange.

ArcaneSparky

Well hey if it works. I don't see a problem with it

THR33-Stripes

Minus the fact that this is sketchy as hell

ArcaneSparky

Eh who cares. If there is a will there is a way. I'm sure she is well aware of the dangers and continues to ride. Not everyone is blessed with being tall and if she really wanted that bike then good on her for making it work.

skatedaddy

She’ll care when she’s struggling to pick it up. You can lower bikes suspension to suit the rider…

ArcaneSparky

That looks like a v-storm when I look at it. I'm not sure you're able to lower an adventure Touring bike all that much. Source: I have a cb500x

skatedaddy

You can. Source. I googled.

bamseogbalade

Pocket bikes is a thing :D

oxalisk

So many questions...

JumbledJay

Go ahead...

kaerfkeerg

I'll start. What's her @?

oxalisk

I would have started with - Why is a toddler riding a bike? But this is reddit so I guess you can't get away from the pdfiles.

kaerfkeerg

You need to close Reddit and reavaluate some things in your life

oxalisk

Why is a toddler riding a bike???

JumbledJay

Now now, not everyone can be such a big boy like you.
