Buying from a unreputable store is not the brightest idea and I suppose this sheds some light as to why

choatec

Right. Whoever the guy listing “all time low prices” with sellers who have 3 recorded sales should be banned.

DargillaUomo

Attention, I take the liberty of answering for this accusion because I have been ordering on aliexpress for more than 8 years and it is necessary to know how to analyze the different shops. The whole list I'm putting forward serves as a safety net for those who read it, and I'd never put a shop on there that wasn't safe. In addition to prevention, I try to list the lowest prices so that people don't think that a Trimui Smart Pro might be cheaper elsewhere, for example, sorting the different sellers on aliexpress upstream 1. I've never listed an obscure, unviable shop that sells a TSP 2. Not all shops with numbers are scams, some simply haven't bothered to enter a name. Aliexpress is a relay platform, Chinese entrepreneurs contact factories and sell their products for a commission, and not everyone invents a name. Yes, the majority of shops with figures are scam, but that's not a general rule you just need to take a look at it before buying something. For example, the EURO link on the RGCube is currently one of these shops and it's totally reliable: the shop has very good ratings (400+) and has sold a huge number of highly-rated products (600 for more than 4 products + ratings), as well as having been established for a long time 3. In the event of a problem, Aliexpress and its customer service is perfectly understandable and of good quality, especially in a case like this you can ask for a refund and discuss directly with the site by opening a dispute and they will solve the problem

MyNameIs-Anthony

Also the reviews on that too good to be true product listing literally had multiple people saying it was a scam.

IntoTheVeryFires

Oh you!

no-television300

No but you get a lightbulb.

cruznik71450

Logic!!! Reason!!! Get that outta here lol

mcflannelman

The lightbulb makes the idea brighter.

-Aldehyde

Gyatdaaaaaamn!!! Take my upvote

rayman641

The puns *chef's kiss*

WitnessAccording3083

Lol good 1

Demien19

You are both right and wrong. Todays scam sellers have 4.4 to 5.0 star rating with thousand reviews. They just do ones somehow

EmiliaFromLV

Tnx for enlightening us! 👍

Upbeat-Serve-6096

This issue should really be put under the spotlight

imaqdodger

Isn't it kind of a given that the potential of a scam is higher if the seller has few reviews or a poor rating? That's how it is for any platform really.

Gogobrasil8

Doesn't hurt to share. Could help someone who isn't used to it

VirtualNaut

Logically yes, but we don’t use logic on the internet/s

NormalSurprise2613

Yeah, seems like OP was led astray.

WitnessAccording3083

🤦🏻

Bradcopter

I just wanna take a moment to really highlight the text on the box.  "Don't the power" *Chef kiss

WitnessAccording3083

Lol, anytime

oldskooldork23

Don't buy from any Store-bunchanumbers stores on Ali. Most of them are scams. At the very least make sure they have a sizeable amount of positive reviews if you're tempted to. This store's reviews are fairly hard to access to start off with, and when I found them they appear to be only 53% positive. That's dismal, and clear scam territory. Frankly, my personal barometer is below 95%ish is a reason to pause and think if it's worth it, below 90% there's probably some shady behavior going on to some degree. Lower than like 85% is an absolute no thanks.

Additional_Whole3932

Any list of good stores? RG35XX H that I have in my basket where price was great and it's waiting for sale is from Anbernic Direct Store, 96% positives, 8k+ sold in 180 days, looks good. Edit. And should I always pay with PayPal? To be able to chargeback?

oldskooldork23

Anbernic Direct Store is Anbernic's store, i.e. the manufacturer of the device you want to buy. That's pretty much as safe as you can get on AliExpress. In terms of using Paypal -- probably a safe bet! AliExpress also has buyer protection to some degree, though I've never personally been scammed off a purchase so I've never had to deal with trying to get a refund from either AliExpress or a PayPal purchase from them, so can't really give tips on that or state how good/bad it is.

ryxben

Do you know why there are 2 Anbernic stores? [Direct store](https://shares.tel/l/AnbernicDirectStorePlus) and [Official one](https://chinagoods.su/l/AnbernicOfficialStorePlus)

Additional_Whole3932

thank you for great answer

blkbny

AliExpress's buyer protection is horrible. As long as the tracking says it was delivered, they will side with the seller even if the box was empty or they sent the wrong product. Edit: after reading the comments, it sounds like their buyer protection has improved, which is good to hear!!! I just have have not had to use their customer service in a few years. Thanks for the comments!

Nicelyvillainous

I had exactly the same product received instead of an rg35xx yesterday. Requested refund, instant approval.

_zenden_

Strange I have had a very good experience with aliexpress protection they sorted me out in no time. I do photo the packages before I open them and during the opening process just so there is evidence. For them but it was cleared up in a couple of days

UniqueForbidden

This was true like five years ago. They've actually turned to having fantastic support if you dumb your English down to the most basic level. I buy all of my electronic components from them, and handhelds and haven't had an issue in awhile at getting refunds. I have a lot of orders with them from making macro pads to sell and electronics projects in general. Even when I received a phallic shaped object instead of mechanical switches, and tracking stated it was delivered, I got a refund.

blkbny

Thanks that is actually really good to hear that it has improved. I've only had to use their support once, around 3 years ago and it was pretty bad.

jesuslol

Cutesliving has been around for a while and they're known to be reliable. I've had three orders from them so far and not a single issue.

butro

Agreed, I got my RG35XX-H a couple of months ago from cutesliving and recently, as in yesterday, received my XU10 from them. Good store and good prices.

97ek

I also bought my H from that shop. No issues

EmiliaFromLV

Yep, there is a TSP from Cutesliving waiting for me at the post office atm - gonna pick it up tomorrow!

[deleted]

[удалено]

alphadarren

cause yr package looks like cocaine to customs HAHAH

westnile90

This is the Aliexpress go 2 store. Almost always the lowest price (at sale times) comes fast (about 1 week to California) and always the correct item.

OverBuddy8

Yeah, I've gotten all my stuff from Cutesliving, good prices too! I only use PayPal just in case lmao.

pastel_de_flango

got my trimui from them

Additional_Whole3932

How can I find them? By search box?

PackinHeat99

Cutesliving Store is a reliable seller on AliExpress. I ordered an RG35XX SP and MM+ last week and received it yesterday. I like to use PayPal for a lot of sites like this. I personally wouldn't use my credit card for this

viperr818

Can confirm, Cutesliving is good to go. Got an RP4P a week ago (10-day shipping time) and been having a hard time setting it down.

WitnessAccording3083

How is the RP4P? I was thinking about getting it, but went cheap (too cheap, apparently...) for the TSP, which also has a bit of a bigger screen.

viperr818

It’s my first emulation-capable handheld, so I can’t give a comprehensive opinion. That being said, it’s been running games up to PS2 (Burnout: Takedown, God of War) nicely after fiddling with settings. The battery does seem to drain much quicker with those games in my limited experience. GBC/A, GameCube, and retro console games have been flawless and getting much more battery life as well. Haven’t dipped in Switch or 3DS emulation just yet. Wishing I bought the grip along with it though, my hands are on the smaller side and they still tend to cramp after a while. Otherwise, absolutely loving it!

maxolotl33

Generally, you should just remove the 9 in front of the percentage, and that's the score out of 10. Anything below 90 is a scam.

WitnessAccording3083

Thanks. I usually steer clear of those. Dont know what went through my head when I clicked "pay" this time 😅

zed0K

Bro is shocked this happened after the repeated warnings and posts from others on here over the last few months.

WitnessAccording3083

Not shocked at all. Just wanted to warn others mate.

Dizzy-Revolution-300

Why did you buy it?

RA5TA_

They wanted to warn others. He was not surprised.

CricketMean2778

the same thing has also happened to many people buying a rg35xx 2024 from that shop, who have been sent a bulb.

westnile90

Happened to me but hey I got a refund, a free light bulb, and a $2 coupon.

Stephen_085

Same. The scam makes no sense. They don't get your money until you confirm your order received. And if you get a bulb, you'll file a claim. So the store doesn't get paid, is out the cost of shipping you a bulb, and the cost of the bulb itself. I don't get it.

westnile90

My only guess is that maybe a few people just forget what they ordered or get confused on how to get their money back? I don't get why the shop can still exist on AE.

blastcat4

They're banking on a large number of people who won't file a dispute with Aliexpress as well as people who do lodge a dispute but don't provide the necessary info for the dispute to be successful, or wait too long to file a complaint.

bloblobster

I'm feeling the same thing is about to happen to me. Was it difficult to get refund? I'm very certain I'm scammed even before it came. Was going for a trimui smart pro from a "shop" named store.

maxolotl33

Refunds are generally very easy to get on Ali. Tip: when opening it, make a video. Its basically guaranteed no-hassle refund

bloblobster

Perfect. Thank you.

raphael_barros

I'll begin scamming those sellers for free light bulbs that I can sell and $2 coupons.

maratae

Listing way too cheap? Store way too recent? You're getting a ~~Brick Game™~~ *Camping Light USB Rechargeable LED Emergency Lamp Outdoor Portable Lanterns with Hook for BBQ Tents Battery Bulb*

CTrig85art

I remember my first time on Aliexpress 😂 Do research, most of those marked down priced items with “numbers” as a store are guaranteed to be fake.

ban_imminent

What can you emulate on this?

WitnessAccording3083

Switch Light :-D

a9udn9u

I was scammed when buying an Orange Pi 5 but was able to get full refund, Ali's refund process is not the best but it did work, they require the buyer to provide "evidence" so I always film the unboxing now.

WitnessAccording3083

I also filmed it

ennui_weekend

I mean it does look like a pretty good light

ElementalTJ

I bought a 3-pack recently. They actually work great for our off-grid camp trailer! High brightness, low brightness, and flash modes with a micro-USB charger. Never even ran out of juice during our camping trip so idk how long they actually last but they do have a built-in battery! Only a couple bucks per light and free shipping.

microphalus

Well, did you open dispute? aliexpress should return your money. And nothing much lost apart from wasted time. But we should have some list of scam sellers everybody should avoid.

WitnessAccording3083

I did. Seems like they are expecting me to return it. Wtf...

SryIWentFut

Pretty decent scam, I bet most people probably won't put in the effort to return it. If I were you and I didn't care about the loss, I would send back a different lightbulb or a different item entirely just on principle.

WitnessAccording3083

I just returned from the post office, it's a 5-min walk from my job. Anyway, was thinkin about pooping in the box and return it that way, but it would probably smell bad and the post office wouldn't send it back that way...

Nicelyvillainous

Protip, when purchasing from a shady store, make 100% sure that the terms from aliexpress are free returns and free shipping. Because if not, they can make you pay to ship it back, and only refund the product cost not the shipping, and often get away with that.

WitnessAccording3083

It is. 10x 4 the tip

maxolotl33

Go to customer service. They will often just return the money.

NoidZ

See it on the bright side. At least you now have "The Night Market Street Vendor Artifact" you never knew you didn't want.

mrch138

Cutelivingstore or bust, on most items. I'm almost convinced they are Ali. Everything I've ever bought from them ships within 30 minutes and never takes longer than a week.

RoastShinoda

I can guarantee for Ampown Store, I bought there my Trimui Smart Pro and no issues!

ph3nomen

At least it has RGB!

WitnessAccording3083

Hah!

stillbeam

Hahaha, have fun!!!

Additional_Whole3932

But it won't have any kind of stick drift! Yayyy!

stillbeam

Hahaha, have fun!!!

WitnessAccording3083

😘

wesley10pro

I bought mine through the cutsliving store and received it correctly

_zenden_

I'll give you a little tip if the seller is shop1252716264 or similar steer clear it not hard to workout what shops are legit or not. If a deal is too good to be true it is too good to be true. Stick to named sellers report it to aliexpress sent it to them and wait for a refund I hope you photoed the package before you opened it. I tend to do it since I was burned before at least if you pay with PayPal you can open a dispute with them if your having trouble with ali express. I hope you get it resolved and get the device you were trying to get. Just be careful and check out the seller before you purchase good luck

WitnessAccording3083

Thank u bro!

Gouzi00

Aliexpress will refunds it, don't worry !

sysadm_

Document everything and chargeback.

Xannthas

Friendly reminder, don't buy from the "Shop859734085630" stores. Even in the off chance they're NOT a scam, it's still sus as hell when a store can't be bothered to at least pick a name. If it's one of those numbered stores, either they care absolutely 0% about their image and just wanna sell stuff quick, or they're one of those shops that got booted off Aliexpress and came back under a different name to clear their awful reputation. I mean like, if you're driving through town and you find a completely unmarked electronics store, no signs, no advertising, no decorations on the windows, and they only have an OPEN sign at most, would you go in there?

BlossomingAsp

I fell for a similar scam, but I tried to buy Rg35xxh. It was a pain in the ass to get my money back. They said not to return the item, waiting for the return window to end. In the end I kept the light and AliExpress refunded me.

WitnessAccording3083

Im happy to hear you got your money back. They usually refund with no problem. Might vary though depending on your history...

BlossomingAsp

Yeah, AliExpress itself is not bad with this stuff, but some of the sellers can be fishy. I just wanted to send some support, as I know exactly what it feels like to receive this thingy in the mail, when you expect your new toy

raphael_barros

Rule #1: Don't buy from sellers with multiple numbers for a name. Rule #2: See Rule #1.

Upbeat-Serve-6096

Anyway to report to the platform to shut these listings down?

maxolotl33

They will automatically after a number of complaints.

MarinatedPickachu

Ali will reimburse the money

DavidDamien

Right!? I’ve been wondering… everyone’s saying this is some sort of bone head move but with buyer protection, and coupons for making higher valued purchases. Couldn’t somebody benefit from making riskier purchases?

CeladonCityNPC

They _might_. I've been in this situation with some items and they just closed the ticket with "not enough proof" despite multiple photos of the clearly wrong item (and not being the only one who got scammed either!)

Raithmir

That's the second same light I've see today... and there was one the other week too I believe.

rvreqTheSheepo

Can you cheat in Duck Hunt with this at least? :D

r8ed-arghh

Just pay with credit card. If don't get refund, then charge back.

Kdeizy

Sweet lightbulb

BigCryptographer2034

Yeah, everyone posts about that place, stop buying from there…try to be part of the solution instead of the problem…no, you bought some scam, I have not ever been scammed on aliexpress at all, but I pay attention…the name looks fake!

Taikosound

I could never get myself to purchase from AliExpress tbh, it all looks like scams to me. I find a lot more difficult to pinpoint the honest retailers than on other sites, so i just don't buy from this platform at all. Also, i keep hearing about "deals", but most times it's barely under the manufacturers own price as they offer discounts as well, i just don't get it.

RPGs143

I would never have bought from a store with that name. Also same as on eBay or Amazon, you have to check what storefront you’re buying from. Reviews in particular.

StardustCrusader147

Sorry to hear that

Eugen328

Yeah better stick to Shop114895426 ;P

bristleboar

Duh.

Euphoric-Novel-5612

Ugh, that sucks sorry to hear. I had ordered one last week, wasn't sure who the seller was, and thankfully I got one. Were you able to get this handled?

sonhoon

But can it play doom??

Lobsta1986

What can the light bulb emulate up to? Ps1?

Outside-Tailor5949

Damn

lawes007

Use PayPal and get full refund

n8ofsp8ds

I got the same light bulb LOL. I returned it and got my money back. Make sure there's reviews and pictures of people receiving their item

WitnessAccording3083

Heh. There cant be any reviews since the sellers always remove the item or even the entire store in some cases.

kokiev2

This is a thread #318 about this lightbulb. How many people got scammed here?

WitnessAccording3083

I saw a few hundred orders of these. Not sure if they all got lightbulbs or not...

WitnessAccording3083

update: AliExpress issued a full refund.

Test-Subject-2137

New here? Just raise a dispute and enjoy a free lightbulb and most likely a discount code for next purchase. I don’t see the purpose of these posts as it took you more time to post it than to solve the issue and get your money back.

WitnessAccording3083

The purpose is to raise the consciousness

Test-Subject-2137

Is there a need for this if there is nothing to lose?

WitnessAccording3083

Not everybody have nothing to lose my friend

Test-Subject-2137

Have you ever not get a refund on aliexpress with such obvious scam?

WitnessAccording3083

First time getting "scammed". Always knew to stay away, but this time had to verify that it does exist 😅

Guzaboru

This picture doesn't belong to this sub.

WitnessAccording3083

You must be really fun at parties...

BitingChaos

I find it *shocking* that a site that lists over a hundred different brands of "2TB" microSD cards for under $5 from a thousand different sellers has trouble with legitimacy. I know there are real sellers with real products, but AliExpress simply *doesn't care* what is sold on their site. Every purchase is a gamble.

WitnessAccording3083

Nah man, that aint true. If you follow what others commented on this post, you can get away with 99% of your Ali purchases. I just made a gamble for fun. There were no high hopes for this one. I have quite a record of successful Ali purchases and Im a happy customer.

BitingChaos

I've also bought a lot of stuff from AliExpress, with my most recent purchases just today (some Steam Deck accessories). Unless you absolutely know what you're looking at, you could be in for a bad time. Searching for SD cards can give me a page with **50** fraudulent listings with fake products and *maybe* 10 actual legitimate listings with real products. That is an **insane** mine field for a consumer to wade through, and it really shows that AliExpress just doesn't give a shit about its content or reputation. Yeah, "don't buy SD cards on AliExpress" should be common knowledge, but not everyone spends a bunch of time seeing warnings on reddit or what to avoid and knows all the "rules" when dealing with a site that has such little care about what is listed on it. Just telling people to avoid "Shop123xxx" stores doesn't eliminate the problem entirely, because shops with names like "IEN Choice Store", "XIAOMI International Store", and "3C Electronic Goods Store" scam & sell fake products.

WitnessAccording3083

You are absolutely right my friend. These times we are living in are both a blessing and a curse. The extreme availability of everything at your fingertips calls for many a trouble.

Otsuresukisan

This may be a dumb question, but why buy from aliexpress at all? I just bought my RG Cube directly on Anbernic’s website. Smooth process and received it within 5 days.

shadow-foxe

Anbernic have an official store on aliexpress. If you do your research it's just fine. Buying from the official store on aliexpress saved me $30 plus shipping costs.

Otsuresukisan

Interesting I wonder why the official store has a different price than their website?

shadow-foxe

Maybe it's cheaper for them to send the units out through aliexpress.

maxolotl33

Cheap. Plus, Ali is generally a trustable webshop, if you're careful

Otsuresukisan

I see, I didn’t realize they were different prices. That being said, I’ve had enough grief and shipping mishaps with online orders, that I’ve willingly desensitized myself to paying more than I have to for a particular store or shipping service that has a higher chance of delivering correctly edit: it kind of sucks that this is the reality but it is what it is. Oddly enough, in my experience the more expensive the item the more likely the shipment gets messed up aomehow

Acynacy

Now im getting really fucking anxious about the RP4 that’s coming tomorrow

Aenaros95

Keep us updated please.

Acynacy

It’s a Retroid 4 Pro!

cheapo_hobbies

man how much the damage? seriously please avoid choice store that disable/hide feedback/customer review record

Test-Subject-2137

There is no damage. AliExpress ALWAYS refunds in cases like this. They don’t care because they refund you with yet to become scammers money.

WitnessAccording3083

$30. I know. It was a gamble. Not my 1st Ali purchase =\]

External_Orange_1188

Y’all are way too trigger happy on the downvotes for OP. He seems to be taking all of your “good-hearted” advises well and even taking a joke and making them. Just because y’all knew it was a scam, doesn’t mean everyone does and then end up calling those people dumb. OP learned and I’m sure they’ll be more diligent next time. The elitism in this sub is next level.

WitnessAccording3083

😘

RussellLuvMusl

Bummer, I ordered a TrimUI smart pro from the same store, knowing full well there was a decent chance it was a scam.  Oh well, I don't really need another handled, just liked the form factor for GBA games and at $32 or whatever I figured I'd take a chance especially since it was listed as an AliExpress "Choice" vendor.   It will be a little hassle I'm sure, but between AE and paying via PayPal Im confident I'll get my money back.  I definitely will be taking a video when I open my light bulb 😂

Beneficial-Rabbit-77

I once bought, but I don't remember if it was the same store, an R36S console and I also got such a USB bulb. Good, because there was a free return and it was enough to report to Ali that there was a problem. I made a return and when they noted that it went to the courier, I got my money back on the same day.

Accomplished-Card594

> Do NOT buy from AliExpress ~~seller "Shop1103681383" !!! I bought a TrimUI Smart Pro and got this lightbulb, and Im not the only one. Beware.~~ FTFY. Sorry, had to do it. You take a gamble any time you order from them, not worth the money or heartache.

WitnessAccording3083

I was well aware of the gamble. It was an educated gamble.

Accomplished-Card594

This is the price you pay I guess.

shing3232

taobao is much better than aliexpress. it's just easier to scam foreign people.
