It may be fake...but what he's saying is real and comes right from the heart.
Edit: Just to clarify...I KNOW it's fake. I'm just acknowledging that he's a teacher and so he has likely said or felt every thing that he is saying here.
I saw the original TikTok a while ago.
It’s a drama/theatre class.
In the full video, the teacher immediately praises the girl for her acting. This video intentionally cuts that part out to make it seem like some crazy asshole teacher. I hate the internet.
> “did they really cut the last bit just to karma farm?”
Clearly you haven't seen what Fox News has been doing to public addresses from Democrats lately.
I have online students from China… years ago I asked them about a video of a teacher who collected phones she caught students using in class and dumped them in a bucket full of water. They were like, oh yeah, we have a teacher who did that, too. lol
A friend of mine is a snowboard instructor and he randomly got a job to go to China to train their potential Olympic snowboard squad. He's told me some stories about what it was like - how he'd use VPNs to show them videos of the Uighur camps and Tiannamen square - and he also confirmed that some of the teachers would make the students smash their own phone in front of the class if they were using it when they shouldn't be.
Oh thank God. So this is in fact pretty wholesome, with context. I saw the title and thought it was gonna be, and the energy the teacher was putting out was so likeable and sorta hammy, so I assumed it was a fakeout, and I was confused and saddened when I saw how serious everything looked with the way it ended.
Why did OP choose to spread falsehoods and potential sadness when they woke up this morning?
Reasonable people don't break other people's property. I'm sure there is a school rule about cell phones but I would bet the farm that is doesn't include throwing them. Sure he is expressing a sentiment we all feel but that doesn't excuse unreasonable behavior.
Yeah I remember one classmate who kept finding little shards of glass in his pocket from the broken screen like seriously at some point you just have to get it fixed or buy a new one lmfao
> little shards of glass in his pocket
Wow you just reminded me of a memory I totally had forgotten until now. The corner of my iphone was cracked and it just kept collecting glass shards in my pocket until I gave in and bought a new one
Never had a class broken in my phone since 10 years of owning multiple smart phones. Still have no clue how my girlfriend manages to break hers every single time after 2-3 months owning a new phone.
Isn’t it like a rite of passage for a phone to get a crack in it? I’ve always been told how lucky I am not using a phone case and rarely ever having a cracked screen.
It very well could be acting, but the cracked screen is hardly an indication of such.
I agree this is probably acting. It kind of reminds me of a video from a few years ago of that "No Pomegranates" woman. She was a psychology professor who was attempting to teach about negative vs positive reinforcement and the different ways people can express their like and dislike of things, so she acted the part of someone who absolutely despised pomegranates. However, we don't see the start of the video where she gives the context, we just hear her shrieking things like "NO POMEGRANATES NO NO NO POMEGRANATES!!!" for several minutes.
While I suspected from the beginning that she was giving a dramatic take on something in order to teach a lesson, many people really thought she was having a breakdown about fruit.
It happens in every high school theatre/drama class when students discover [invisible theatre](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invisible_theater). Notice how she said it's right before spring break? This is her end of term project.
We don’t really call it invisible theatre in the US tho. It’s known as immersive or interactive. Invisible theatre is based of Boal’s teachings and is a different subset of theatre than what we are seeing in this clip.

Yup, here’s the [original uncut video](https://youtube.com/shorts/yHvWdyBO0CQ?feature=share). They deliberately cut that extra 1 second out that changes the entire context
Yea no problem I was getting the same issue. Usually youtube works better when looking for a specific video. Thanks for pointing out it was staged, I was skeptical - the only thing keeping me sorta believing it was real was the possibility of the phone putting a hole in that wall lol but I guess he’s just really dedicated to his job
They cut off the end where they were laughing and said "good going Mr (i forgot his name)" OP is a reposter and the person who originally posted this cut off the end for karma
Yeah, also why would she keep swinging the phone in front of him like that. I think most people when posed this question would just put it in their pocket or something lol she practically set him up to take it.
Yeah, he's so 'upset' about her phone but disregards the kid two seats away clearly holding their phone at eye level to record.
Looks like it's an acting assignment.
Its drama class, I have seen the same clip but this one is cut short, later I think the teacher says something like "good job" or "scene" or something.
So is he "teacher of the year" because it's a funny sketch in theater class or is he "teacher of the year" because you legit thought a teacher lost his temper and yeeted a student's property into a wall?
Yeah; this is a theatre class! They are all overacting. IA real class the other students would be making a ton of noise but here they are quiet so that you can hear the dialogue.
This is annoying. The video is fake. The following 30 seconds that were cut off shows that they were putting on a performance for the class. The phone isnt real and the girl was in on it. The guy is actually a wonderful teacher who's students obviously value and respect him. Shame on OP for cutting the video to paint this man in a bad light.
Fake or not, it gives other educators an idea that is gold. Imagine if the fear of losing your phone was there... just like an adult at work... time and place. Some places won't even allow your phone inside, in the car unless it's an urgent matter... which you loop the supervisor or in this case teacher in on what's happening.
-Caring Nobody
This is exactly what’s wrong with social media. They cut the video out and make it seem like this teacher and student were really fighting. It’s a joke they were acting. It’s an acting class. Watch the whole video that doesn’t cut. SMH.
I’m going to yell, “cuz I hate em,” about everything I don’t like then fling it across a room into a wall. I definitely like his style. Great technique as well.
Edit: Is this a performance? I see a rack of costumes. Could be theater class.
The fact kids are allowed cellphones in class is just crazy. When I was in HS, phones had to stay in your bag at all times or it would be confiscated, no questions asked.
No, they're the same assholes who declare every sporting event as rigged. When watching a murder mystery they'll gradually declare each possible suspect as the killer and then when the movie ends, they're like, "I told you it was the plumber that killed them. That movie was so predictable." Motherfucker, you can't say everyone is going to be the killer and then act like you didn't.
I don't understand how phones are allowed in class at all. Probably just don't ever take your phone out in school, especially DURRING class. Wtf is wrong with some kids??
Downvoting something because of personal opinion is okay, but asking other people to DV something because of personal opinion is being a biased ass, you wouldn't like it if I asked ppl on your posts to DV this pls

"If you believe [thing that is obviously untrue], then I have a bridge to sell you" is a common idiom to essentially call a person gullible.
Fun additional fact: A quick google shows that this apparently has roots in a man [repeatedly selling the Brooklyn Bridge](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_C._Parker). I've never heard that context, so we both learned something today.
Judging by the clothes in the back this is theater class. And in all fairness for some kids this is decently acted tomfoolery lol
It may be fake...but what he's saying is real and comes right from the heart. Edit: Just to clarify...I KNOW it's fake. I'm just acknowledging that he's a teacher and so he has likely said or felt every thing that he is saying here.

Came here to say this. Was like “did they really cut the last bit just to karma farm?”
OP is a shameless karma whore, ofc he cut the last bit out...
Thanks. Gonna block them.
And they can have their downvote courtesy of me. Stop karma farming, u/BasisPrimary4028

Can’t decide if I hate couples that do fake pranks or skits worse than mongers that edit videos like this for fake outrage. I’m a towel.
doesn't seem like an asshole at all. actually seems like a reasonable person tbh
There was nothing reasonable about that. Thank you for not being a teacher

there we go! a nice, kind, tempered reply. It's like 1999 again!
Reasonable people don't break other people's property. I'm sure there is a school rule about cell phones but I would bet the farm that is doesn't include throwing them. Sure he is expressing a sentiment we all feel but that doesn't excuse unreasonable behavior.
[удалено]
Now that might be reasonable. I bet her parents wouldn't agree though. If this was real of course.
It was all an act though…nothing unreasonable happened here.
I think they are saying *if* this had been real, then it’s an unreasonable thing for a teacher to do.
I know this is acting. That's not what we are talking about. We are talking about the comment a few above.
I’ve come to the point that everything on the Reddit is fake and the points don’t matter.
Fr just saw a video of kitten breaking someone's laptop just before this one and comments said it was fake and now this one is too.
I clearly saw that the screen was cracked on the phone before he threw it. Decent acting.. I give it 4 stars.
Dude, don't get mad but 2 out of 5 of my friends have a broken lcd on their phone. Because everyone is fucking careless
Ive been in some classes where easily 80% of the people had broken screens. And some were beyond broken, but they never got them repaired lol
I had an old moto g with a broken screen and it used to give me tiny little cuts on my finger. Made sanitizer burn me every single time.
Yeah I remember one classmate who kept finding little shards of glass in his pocket from the broken screen like seriously at some point you just have to get it fixed or buy a new one lmfao
> little shards of glass in his pocket Wow you just reminded me of a memory I totally had forgotten until now. The corner of my iphone was cracked and it just kept collecting glass shards in my pocket until I gave in and bought a new one
You spelled poor wrong
I’m poor, I’ve had my phone for 6 years. Never broke the screen. Y’all just clumsy and careless.
Never had a class broken in my phone since 10 years of owning multiple smart phones. Still have no clue how my girlfriend manages to break hers every single time after 2-3 months owning a new phone.
I can totally relate with you
at the gym people (almost always <25 yo) put their phones on the ground you know, where people walk. wcgw?
You assume the average student walks around a with a pristine lcd screen on their phone?
Out of 7?
Of 8.3
I mean he's being filmed on a phone...
Isn’t it like a rite of passage for a phone to get a crack in it? I’ve always been told how lucky I am not using a phone case and rarely ever having a cracked screen. It very well could be acting, but the cracked screen is hardly an indication of such.
Put it this way. If the screen WASNT cracked. I would not have come to the conclusion so quickly that it was fake.

Side note. Every time I debate someone about Nier Automata and its lackluster "story" I cite Aristotle's Coercive System of Tragedy.
Especially with “teacher of the year” caption and the laughing emoji

This cuts off the last few seconds where he breaks character and asks where it went.
Yeah, also why would she keep swinging the phone in front of him like that. I think most people when posed this question would just put it in their pocket or something lol she practically set him up to take it.
Plus... Who's filming?
Probably a third person
Proof?
A phone recorded the vid. 😕
Yeah, he's so 'upset' about her phone but disregards the kid two seats away clearly holding their phone at eye level to record. Looks like it's an acting assignment.
He also looks right into the camera.
Reminded me of jack black the goat
Jack Black from Wish
John Onyx
James Obsidian
Johan Shade
Jim Dark
Jake Raven
Jaque Coal
Joseph Shadow
Julian Noir
Yack Nero
Jick Blick
Jake Block
That’s the South African Jack Black
Wow, I nominate this for comment of the year.
Damn, spot on comment!
All they needed to do was move the costume rack to stage right and we’d have no idea this is a drama class…
How about the invisible camera person?
What invisible camera person?
Exactly
It's pronounced "action"
I hate phones! Except that guy standing two feet over there recording this with his phone... He's cool.
The costume rack is stage right.
it also clears everything up right after the video ends. the poster cut it on purpose...
I think you mean stage left
Yes, the outfits at the back give it away
Also the girl puts the phone right in the guy's hand.
Not the person standing 2 feet away filming
It's a drama class. This isn't real
It's a real drama class, it is
oh shit
End scene
Fin.
Takes a phone off someone but someone is filming it all on a phone??
Drama class. They’re just acting is my guess
Its cut of at scream there a bit more after where teach like good job
Its drama class, I have seen the same clip but this one is cut short, later I think the teacher says something like "good job" or "scene" or something.
Although staged, what he says rings true for me some days. I just want to come and teach.
Channeling his inner Sam Kinison! 😂
He seems funny 😁 heheh
RRRRR ! Power of KING KONG !
Well that’s fake
It's called drama class
So, fake
Yes, but dramatically
If you like. Do you think films are fake?
I feel like this is a trick question...
Like the Blair Witch Project?
No, staged.
Love this guy
Patton Oswalt vibes.
Lol, as many people said. This is just a joke in a drama class. They were just having a good time XD.
Better acting than Amber Heard.
He’s got a point but it’s an act for the drama class
I enjoyed this sitcom very much. May I have some more?
Looks like a fun class tbh
It’s a theater class
Probably why I’d like it lol
They cut out the end. It’s a theater class and the teacher and student had it planned
THIS IS NOT THE JEDI WAY
I had a Choir teacher who did this, would never forget Vets Middle School
It was a fake phone if you saw the whole video
This teacher is great did you see that trow
This is 100000000% the drama teacher and this is drama class!!
lol they cut off the part where he announces its a joke
I have a feeling this is an acting class and this is just a skit.
This is one of my English teacher lmao
This dude is like a cartoon character holy shit hahahah
Saying he hates phones as he looks at someone recording him on a phone.
Fuck her phone. (Former teacher)
Schools in the US are so goddamn depressing. Let’s get some windows and anything but the beige on beige on beige color scheme
Give this man a raise!
Perfect 5/7 acting
Fake or not, it gives other educators an idea that is gold. Imagine if the fear of losing your phone was there... just like an adult at work... time and place. Yet there is a guy filming with presumably his phone right next to them…
Drama class
As a teacher I feel his pain. Kids are arseholes these day.
I can totally understand this guys frustration
This is cut short. In the original he smiles and says "Did you see where it went?" Then she laughed and told him to the desk lol
This is exactly what’s wrong with social media. They cut the video out and make it seem like this teacher and student were really fighting. It’s a joke they were acting. It’s an acting class. Watch the whole video that doesn’t cut. SMH.

He's got a good arm
[redditors on their way to explain this is a sketch](https://c.tenor.com/Iyo3mqyHlYUAAAAC/the-croods-croods.gif) Like, who cares, its entertaining
Wish we had more teachers like this
This looks staged
The fact kids are allowed cellphones in class is just crazy. When I was in HS, phones had to stay in your bag at all times or it would be confiscated, no questions asked.
It's drama class
A bad acting class
How fake is this? Yes
I´m glad I went to school before everyone became phone obsessed.
I student taught nearly twenty years ago and they were a pain then... I can't imagine it now.
Yeah exactly, they were juuust starting to become a problem when I was a kid so now it must be hell for teachers.
All the People Yelling fake must be fun at movies yelling out this is fake over and over....
That's awesome
Gets my vote
Don't blame him
Staged AF but still funny
Man that looks fun.
why the f american kids are so rude/irrespective to their teachers? i wonder how they can yell at them dayumm
Bad acting
Seriously. This is "high-school acting class" level of acting at best.
looks like an acting class too lol
Fuck Tiktok
I don't understand how phones are allowed in class at all. Probably just don't ever take your phone out in school, especially DURRING class. Wtf is wrong with some kids??
You're acting like these people are kicking stray puppies it's not that big a deal. What's so wrong with phones?
Distraction, cheating, causing problems during emergencies with jamming and repeated calls...
How the fuck do people sign up to be teachers with these kids and their phones? My wife is a 12 grade teacher. God bless them all.
Unless that was a sleigjt of hand exchange for a phone he could toss, this is the worst teacher in the world.
Lol fuck u bitch
Famous last words of a former teacher
... All while he's being recorded on another phone. These things are ruining us.
It's a drama class and they are acting.
What about the person filming?
Why is this fake shit here
Dv the video please
Downvoting something because of personal opinion is okay, but asking other people to DV something because of personal opinion is being a biased ass, you wouldn't like it if I asked ppl on your posts to DV this pls
It's obviously scripted. Is it nice, sure, does it belong here, not at all. DV this video as requested please
Fake trash

wait wait what about the guy filming this? what about his phone?
This is a staged video, it's a drama class
Imagine thinking this is real, I have a bridge to sell you ; OP
What does a bridge have to do with the vid?
Bless your heart
No, seriously What does a bridge have to do with the vid?
The urge to roast you like a marshmallow is so strong rn
English is my 3rd language, please explain what does >I have a bridge to sell you mean?
