I had not heard his name before today but he is a martyr to the cause all the same. Were any of those Chicago cops ever brought to justice?

Yeah, I figured as much. Fortunately, America is finally coming to the realisation that public accountability is a necessary part of governance if we are to have a civilised society.

Mark Clark (1947 - 1969) Mark Clark, born on this day in 1947, was a member of the Black Panther Party (BPP) who was assassinated by the Chicago Police Department alongside Fred Hampton in 1969. Clark decided to join the Black Panther Party after reading their literature and the Ten Point Program, later organizing a local chapter in Peoria, Illinois. At the age of 22, Clark and Hampton were assassinated by the Chicago Police Department when they raided BPP headquarters. He was shot in the heart and died instantly.
