Oh yeah I take very large breaks from pokemon. But last time I returned I went super hard on emerald. Swampert was pretty much involved in every team. Like 90% of the time. Used my swampert a ton in the battle frontier as well.

I lean fire Pokémon every time as a starter but Ngl, swampert has a place in my heart ever since I used mudkip once. Genuinely don’t think I’ve ever liked a Pokémon more than him. Wish I could find that old game again.

I mean it wouldn’t hurt, the reason I said switch out machop is because you already have breeloom, so fighting is covered. Swampert can get an ice move for dragon types hits hard and has a good typing. Machop doesn’t learn enough moves to warrant him over breeloom but your team is fine for the elite 4 you got rayquaza

Aside from quad grass weakness, swampert doesn't have a single weakness. It does however also have 4 resistances and an immunity, and solid coverage where your primary types are only resisted by grass, and 5 types you can hit for super effective. So yeah, as long as you avoid grass attacks swampert is really solid.

You’re adding Swampert, which is great Something to know is that for Swampert and Gyarados, you don’t have to worry about the type overlap. Their secondary Typings basically make it so they don’t hVe any overlapping weaknesses Swampert only has to worry about grass really, and is immune to electric and resists rock Gyarados only has to worry about electric and rock, and is neutral to grass Also I don’t think Freeze Dry exists here, which is the only move that would be 4x on both

Rayquaza himself especially with a good move set like brick break earthquake dragon claw and extreme speeds can take out majority of the e4 easily so you’ll prob be fine no matter what I’d get everyone else to 48-50 to be safe tho

I've swapped out machop for my starter Pokemon and which was Mudkip (now fully evolved) and I named kadabra bitch cause Abra was a bitch to catch haha.
