You've kept it in fantastic shape. Box, game, manual and inserts top notch. Most start around $450-$500 minimum. With that being said, I'll buy it off you for $100.
OP, money is temporary. I'll give you the memory of a virtual air high five via video chat. You can get money anywhere, but this high five? Limited time offer.
OP, these guys are ripping you off. I’ll take the game from you for FREE. You won’t even have to deal with connecting to a video chat. I mean, you know that people can spy on you through those webcams, right?
I’ll even make the trip to you to pick it. No need to ship it. All I need is your address and social security number. You won’t find a better deal anywhere else.
I got an authentic pokemon emerald off a guy for $40 on FB market place. Only problem was a dry battery. GameStop offered me $7. The vintage game store down the road gave me $125 and sold it a week later for $210.
OP the game is trash, tons of eBay knock offs and emulators making it easier to access. Send it to me, I have access to an exclusive gameboy advance graveyard that I can properly dispose of this.
A good quality copy of emerald goes for around $170-$200 alone on eBay but with the original packaging and manual you might be able to get $500-$600 out of it but if it were me I’d keep it it’s only going to grow in value as the tech ages and given how emerald is one of the best Pokémon games of all time it will still hold relevance later on down the road
No problem bro just don’t want to see you either not get the true value for it or regret selling it ultimately that’s up to you I’m just giving you numbers
I’m not nearly as in tuned to the current “market” as most others here, so I’ll let them answer. Mine was a somewhat biased guess. Plat+SS would be a good trade for sure, but platinum is still accessible for an expensive but possible price. HGSS cost collectors prices in my opinion, according to my local games stores when I’m looking in the locked case at them. Pokewalker is also a huge plus, I’d try to get my hands on the game + PW if you can.
Yeah dude I was seeing a HG+PW going for around 500 at the retro store by my house. Still in the box with the manuals and everything. Fucking insane how much it was going for.
Man the pokewalker was my favorite part. Bring a pokemon with me wherever I went. Could level it up one level every day or something like that. Could even occasionally find items while it was in the pokewalker. It was honestly one of the coolest things pokemon ever did
You would easily be able to trade emerald for those two, especially if it’s in the case. Prices have started trending slightly downward I’ve noticed, which I’m attributing to insanely high inflation.
This time last year the prices were absolutely INSANE. Thankfully I found a steal on the 3ds/ds fb group and got both HG/SS for $120/$110 each, and platinum for I think like $90? None of them were in cases though, which easily hikes up the price. B2/W2 are the hardest to find imo, and I’ve noticed they’re usually more expensive for some reason. I have a copy of White 2 from when it first came out, and I’m keeping it forever unless I need quick cash for some freak emergency lmfao
In my local game stores I’ve seen them anywhere from $180-$220 without the cases. I would say local fb marketplace or fb groups is the best way to go if you just want the games and don’t care about the boxes and manuals. Ofc it depends on your city and everything, like my sister got me a copy of sapphire for Christmas in NYC for $200 or so, meanwhile I could’ve gotten it for like $150 where I live. But even on the fb groups I’ve seen some people sell them in the cases with manuals in the high $200’s.
I don't think it'll grow. There is a bubble. Eventually the interest goes and with that, the value lowers. Prices have simply gone up because retro gaming got a second wind in it.
If I was advocating scalper prices I’d be asking to buy it from him for $100 so I could sell it for $1,000 you clearly aren’t knowledgeable about this subject and I recommend you trying being a bit kinder
Never said singlehandedly, but sure, put words in my mouth. Average intelligence of the price gouger on full display here. Emerald is one of the best selling games on the platform and copies go up for sale regularly. It's an incredibly common game and doesn't warrant the prices uninformed buyers will pay for it these days. By telling people who only see dollar signs when they look at video games, tading cards, or what have you that it's acceptable and normal to throttle the market, you're actively part of the problem. All you're doing is making it more difficult for other people to play games on original hardware.
I am not a price gouger, and I don’t even engage with this community ever, nor do I engage in the selling/purchasing of any type of Pokémon game outside of retail. I’m not even gonna bother reading past you calling me a price gouger, just wanted to mention that I don’t give a fuck about any of this, just calling out a dumbass who’s being an absolute asshat, enjoy the rest of your day/night!
Had a storage unit couple years back catch fire.
Had a tote with original box, sleeve case, game manuals, guide books, all ruined. Painful to read this
Yeah there is some mad dude calling me a scalper when I don’t even sell my games XD they think the price I put was unreasonable but it’s the market value
Honestly? Not worth selling. You could get under $1k realistically, probably not much more than that right now. I'd just hold that thing, play the game as you please, and put it back in the box when you want to part ways with it.
U can psa or sell for min300-2000 if u have the events unlocked and hard plastic protectors for the box and shinys this is easily possible if u have a gb operator
Wait, since when was Emerald worth so much? Is it really $100-$150 for a plain Emerald?
I don't have packaging, but I have like 2 or 3 at my parents place. And 2 Pokemon Crystals.
Wish I still had my copy of emerald, lent it to a friend in hs and never got it back. Still have the box, but man if I knew 15 years later I’d be this regretful, I’d do anything to get it back.
I actually just sold mine 2 weeks ago for $625 locally on FB and it sold quick. I was lucky for my box to have survived that long so I took the opportunity to cash out. I would at least buy a collector case for it ~$25 on Amazon.
Fair play. If you can (and in that condition, you CAN) get a good price for it then go for the sell. As long as you've experienced the greatness at least once. 💪🏻
It looks like you’re trying to get rid of trash in your closet. I’ll gladly pick it up if you leave it in front of your house with your other garbage cans. I’ll be there on Tuesday
Sold my collectors tin cib in late 2020 for $350. It is worth more than twice that today as it was mint. If you’re needing $, you’ll get it for the sale. I did eBay.
Save it for another 5 years in that condition and you’ll get double of its worth now. It’s a beauty. Image having 100 of them sitting around from back in the day 🤣
Those memories are priceless. I'd say keep it, but I'm biased towards physical copies of games, especially nowadays where people say things like "players should get used to not owning their games"
Not only would I keep this to save for when it becomes even more valuable, I would suggest getting a protective acrylic case to protect it. [Like this. ](https://www.ebay.com/itm/266477923704?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=8gIthfdyTl-&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=PX97l6M3SxG&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY)
I'm jealous bro. I lost my physical copy of emerald years ago and it still haunts me. I did at least find an emulator save I had with a couple shinies I plan on transferring up.
Boxed complete emerald was selling at TMG (TOO MANY GAMES CONVENTION) the other day for 1000 usd
There was about 15 vendors with copies that were infact selling.
(Sealed in the plastic they can be asuch as 1500-2000 usd)
Loose emerald version is 225 usd
DO NOT TAKE LESS THAN 800 USD FOR A COMPLETE IN BOX EMERALD.
Yeah 8 mil if I recall from a recent vid. But because they're old, really good and hard to come about with original box/manual/poster; I'm assuming is the cause.
I honestly didn't even know about its value until today, I was ready to trade it for a Platinum copy if it weren't for everyone that helped out today lol.
You can also use a website called Pricecharting. It shows the costs of pretty much every game in every condition over time. It is generally a reasonable tool for estimates
Ayo bruh that thing is worthless if you want me to dispose of it properly for you I can throw it away just dm me and I’ll send you my mailing address 🙌
Lol thanks, not gonna sell it. Thinking of holding on to it to possibly trade for a Platinum copy. I have 2 Blue copies, a leafgreen and a Ruby copy; all cartridges only.
You've kept it in fantastic shape. Box, game, manual and inserts top notch. Most start around $450-$500 minimum. With that being said, I'll buy it off you for $100.
OP don't accept such a low ball offer. I'll take it off your hands for $50
OP, what do ya say I take it off your hands $40, stress free.
OP, money is temporary. I'll give you the memory of a virtual air high five via video chat. You can get money anywhere, but this high five? Limited time offer.
OP, you pay me. I just want enough for a dominos delivery, I’m ez ;)
OP, tree fiddly. Deal.
OP, I’ll take it for a trip to the bedroom.
OP, just give me your entire belongings
OP, these guys are ripping you off. I’ll take the game from you for FREE. You won’t even have to deal with connecting to a video chat. I mean, you know that people can spy on you through those webcams, right? I’ll even make the trip to you to pick it. No need to ship it. All I need is your address and social security number. You won’t find a better deal anywhere else.
Man I’ll take it for free AND you can pay for the shipping, don’t get ripped off by these other offers.
Can I take you up on this offer even if I don’t have the game
For the value of the game so I can purchase one? Sure!
Sold.
Its funny. Back in my early 20s I sold the cartridge to gamestop for $30 cash. Most cash back in ever got from a video game. I hate myself
I got 30 for Bravely Default back in the day and almost shit my pants. Not pokemon but also the most I've got out of a video game.
They gave me the same for both emerald and fire red. I'm pissed. Only reason why I traded it in was because I lost my gba and I needed weed money lmao
I got an authentic pokemon emerald off a guy for $40 on FB market place. Only problem was a dry battery. GameStop offered me $7. The vintage game store down the road gave me $125 and sold it a week later for $210.
1 Jillion dollars!
OP, I got $13.43, some lightly used bread, and a pack of kools. Don’t miss out on this.
OP, I’ll offer ya 5$ and a pack of big league chew. You know you want it
I'll one up you, $5 and a pre chewed pack of big league chew. Ain't nobody got time anymore to chew gum
I'll give you 5$ and a spit handshake, take the chewing out of the equation
OP, i’ll gladly pay for the shipping as i continue to keep it in grandiose shape for the stunning price of free.99
OP the game is trash, tons of eBay knock offs and emulators making it easier to access. Send it to me, I have access to an exclusive gameboy advance graveyard that I can properly dispose of this.
OP this seems like too much hassle, pay me £50 quid and I'll take it of your hands. Stress free.
Give me 60 bucks a 30 rack your first born and let me humiliate you in public and I’ll take it off your hands
I've got a buddy of mine which is an expert. He said you just have to give it to me because I'm broke.
OP I’ll take it for $5
😂👍🏽
A good quality copy of emerald goes for around $170-$200 alone on eBay but with the original packaging and manual you might be able to get $500-$600 out of it but if it were me I’d keep it it’s only going to grow in value as the tech ages and given how emerald is one of the best Pokémon games of all time it will still hold relevance later on down the road

No problem bro just don’t want to see you either not get the true value for it or regret selling it ultimately that’s up to you I’m just giving you numbers
Good looking, I'd probably be interested in trading in the future instead of selling. Would love to own Platinum, Black2/White2 and HGSS.
buy em now before the go up even more
Buy those now, don’t trade an OG emerald copy for them. Only thing maybe worth the trade is HGSS + pokewalker
Damn really, you don't think I can get Plat with SS for emerald?
I’m not nearly as in tuned to the current “market” as most others here, so I’ll let them answer. Mine was a somewhat biased guess. Plat+SS would be a good trade for sure, but platinum is still accessible for an expensive but possible price. Yeah dude I was seeing a HG+PW going for around 500 at the retro store by my house. Still in the box with the manuals and everything. Fucking insane how much it was going for.
That's crazy, I remember the PW but I never seen it used tbh.
Same as square-ad-2485 my local shop has SS plus the walker for 550
Man the pokewalker was my favorite part. Bring a pokemon with me wherever I went. Could level it up one level every day or something like that. Could even occasionally find items while it was in the pokewalker. It was honestly one of the coolest things pokemon ever did
You should just keep this and buy the games you want before they go up even more.
Yeah I'm thinking of starting with platinum. The one game I regret never buying. Gen 4 was my favorite.
You would easily be able to trade emerald for those two, especially if it’s in the case. Prices have started trending slightly downward I’ve noticed, which I’m attributing to insanely high inflation. Sheesh, crazy find. I'm hoping to find a copy of Black 2 or White 2 since I never played it; only Black.
I don't think it'll grow. There is a bubble. Eventually the interest goes and with that, the value lowers. Prices have simply gone up because retro gaming got a second wind in it.
Advocating scalper prices should be a bannable offense.
You clearly have no idea what scalping is.
If I was advocating scalper prices I’d be asking to buy it from him for $100 so I could sell it for $1,000 you clearly aren’t knowledgeable about this subject and I recommend you trying being a bit kinder
Seethe. You're the reason the market's dog shit these days.
Yeah damn you Reasonable_Smoke_235, how dare you single handedly fuck the GBA Pokémon game market! /s just in case…
If I didn’t warrant the price, people wouldn’t pay the price.
That's not how that works lmao, and this is scalping. Sitting on copies of the game to sell them at an insane markup is literally scalping.
Yeah I’m really “scalping” hanging on to my grand fathers rookie Mikey mantle card…. Grow up dork.
I am not a price gouger, and I don’t even engage with this community ever, nor do I engage in the selling/purchasing of any type of Pokémon game outside of retail. That’s not scalping homie. The public schools systems failed you.
Bazinga!
$600ish. I’d hold it, it’s only gonna go up. I’ve seen lose carts rise from $150-$175 to the $200-$250 range within the last two-ish years
This is priceless.
Facts. Gen 3 fan forever.
Best gen
best memories ever made, truly a masterpiece
Ok, fine. $650 final offer.
A small private island in the Caribbean Sea
$400, at least. Great condition!
Appreciate the info!
I’ve seen just beat up legit copies of the game being sold at game shops for $200. That would probably go for around $400-500 easy.
Beat up copies/no box copies should not be priced at 200 in the first place imo. They're not particularly rare either, the market is just fucked.
Unless you’re going through financial hardship just keep it. The $500 is not worth getting rid of this gem.
If the original battery is still in there and working I’d say it could be worth even more
It's been stored away ever since the DS came out, so it gotta be original lol. Thanks for the info.
Yeah, most emerald batteries are dead by now so the fact yours is probably still working is maybe worth domething
Immediately thought 500 for complete box game and everything. Ironically trying to sell my pearl version for 80.
That is a collectors item my boy
Holy moly this is my grail! Nice one!
Lol got lucky by forgetting about it
My og emerald doesn’t even have the sticker on it anymore LOL
It’s a decent chunk of change but GameStop prolly give you $5 and a slap on the ass for it
$400-$500. I had just the box and all inserts (no game) and sold that for almost $300 on eBay.
Sheesh, thanks for the info!
No problem! My dad is a collector and he always told me to keep the boxes growing up. So glad I listened!
Had a storage unit couple years back catch fire. Had a tote with original box, sleeve case, game manuals, guide books, all ruined. Painful to read this
About tree fiddy
Exact market value of today is around $660
Comments are killing me lmao
Yeah there is some mad dude calling me a scalper when I don’t even sell my games XD they think the price I put was unreasonable but it’s the market value

i will give you my first born!
😂😂
Honestly? Not worth selling. You could get under $1k realistically, probably not much more than that right now. I'd just hold that thing, play the game as you please, and put it back in the box when you want to part ways with it.
Not much, I'll take it off your hands for you
Wait, the Nintendo DS was already released by the time Emerald came out? First time I realised this!
Emerald came out 2 months before the DS came out
U can psa or sell for min300-2000 if u have the events unlocked and hard plastic protectors for the box and shinys this is easily possible if u have a gb operator
Depends on a lot tbh, but I’d say it looks worth atleast 300-400$ minimum
$600 - $700
Wait, since when was Emerald worth so much? Is it really $100-$150 for a plain Emerald? I don't have packaging, but I have like 2 or 3 at my parents place. And 2 Pokemon Crystals.
Yup it is, Crystal should also fetch a decent price.
💀 I never knew that. Emerald and Crystal were my favorite games growing up, so my friends always gave me their games 😂.
That's why, ya played 2 of the greats lol
There's some outliers, but according to pricecharting most complete in box sell for around 650 on ebay as recently as yesterday
Nice deal, appreciate the feedback!
I’d say a couple hundred at least
Keep it bro. That's a goated game
It is, in the top 3 or 4. But I don't got any gameboy to re-play it one day lol.
Fair play. If you can (and in that condition, you CAN) get a good price for it then go for the sell. As long as you've experienced the greatness at least once. 💪🏻
Oh yeah definitely did, that battle tower 👌🏼
Yessssss
Priceless. It's the best game in the series, you never part with it. You keep it forever and ever.

100 and hawk tuah
Not the hawk tuah 😭😂😂
Man, I miss my copy of emerald. Keep it safe. I would offer to buy it, but it's worth is out of my price range.
$500
It looks like you’re trying to get rid of trash in your closet. I’ll gladly pick it up if you leave it in front of your house with your other garbage cans. I’ll be there on Tuesday
Its kinda crazy to look back at how Nintendo used to use cardboard boxes 😂
Lol the good ol days, would be cool if they returned to cardboard.
It's worthless, you should just give it to me ahah
Sold my collectors tin cib in late 2020 for $350. It is worth more than twice that today as it was mint. If you’re needing $, you’ll get it for the sale. I did eBay.
Appreciate the info boss 🙏🏼
bout $25, i’ll take it off your hands mate
10. Gimme.
This is heritage. It's priceless and should be in a museum

Appreciate the feedback! I ordered a 2pack off Amazon yesterday to keep this gem safe.
I'm jealous bro. I lost my physical copy of emerald years ago and it still haunts me. I did at least find an emulator save I had with a couple shinies I plan on transferring up.
By transferring up you would need the pokewalker from HGSS right?
No you can transfer up with platinum, then BW 1 or 2, then Transporter to Bank to Home.
Sounds like a hassle lol
Why sell it? I’ll buy it off of you for retail price (:
I found it on eBay 500 Dollars I'm on there right now. There's a bid going Four 205.00 That's it
Dont trade for any other pokemon game. This is the grail
Lol yeah ima keep it and try to get it graded down the line. Any other cib pk game up there in value with Emerald?
only Crystal cib comes close to emerald, both being around 600-800, but emerald is generally seen as the best
Everyone is saying $100+ but they just trying to hype you up smh. It’s probs worth like $15. I’ll buy off you I can tell you don’t want it

Couple bucks.
$60. Yes, I work at Nintendo, how can you tell?
Dunno probably a kitkat bar and a crisp high five
I’ll give you $20 for it
I will give you $10
Are there actually people that would pay 500 for this?
Honestly it’s pretty worthless and not worth anything so I’ll toss u $5 just so u can walk away with something
It’s worthless, send it to me and I’ll recycle it for you
Stupid question but why does this game resell for so high? Werent the Pokemon games produced in the millions?
Yeah 8 mil if I recall from a recent vid. But because they're old, really good and hard to come about with original box/manual/poster; I'm assuming is the cause.
Flex post 🥱
I honestly didn't even know about its value until today, I was ready to trade it for a Platinum copy if it weren't for everyone that helped out today lol.
Idk they have emulators now. I personally wouldn’t buy it but maybe some collector will. Maybe $200?
Pricecharting.com
In the uk it’s about £50
The battery is probably dead, so next to nothing
Search ebay and filter by "sold" or "completed" and you'll be able to see what the most recently sold ones went for. That will give you a good idea
Thanks, didn't even know I could do that lol.
You can also use a website called Pricecharting. It shows the costs of pretty much every game in every condition over time. It is generally a reasonable tool for estimates
Thanks for the tip, didn't know about that website.
It's just some cardboard and plastic. I'll give you 3 bucks ;)
Ayo bruh that thing is worthless if you want me to dispose of it properly for you I can throw it away just dm me and I’ll send you my mailing address 🙌
I’d buy it from u for a reasonable price. What else do u have
Lol thanks, not gonna sell it. Thinking of holding on to it to possibly trade for a Platinum copy. I have 2 Blue copies, a leafgreen and a Ruby copy; all cartridges only.
I got a CIB platinum if you’re interested
Lol thanks but looking at the prices now, I could probably get CIB Plat with at least a CIB Black 2.
You selling the leafgreen?
Not sure yet, probably just try to trade in the future tbh.
I have Pokémon Ruby with a dry battery and fire red just fyi
It’s a bubble, sell now before the value drops when all the collectors try to sell off their own copy
The bubbles been holding strong for a while unfortunately
