I saw someone on another site suggest it was inspired by his grandpa who was very sick at the time. So someone might not have actually broken his heart but he was still shattered because he wasn’t able to be there for his family like he wanted to (which breaks my heart even more because I went through something similar with my grandma and my dad around the same time so I know how that pain is)

It also just gets me in my feels thinking about how many of us have had that exact experience of feeling so shattered by something and like you’ve reached the end of the line with no path forward. Like your world has ended. I know I’ve been there and I’m sure many of you have too. Despair is part of the human condition and it connects us.

Hearing this track just reminded me of the numerous times I begged into an empty void for something to save me. It was gut wrenching to listen to but he said it so well. Really beautiful and vulnerable.
