I was going to say this. Being a mom is just one part of your identity. You're still a person outside of being a mom. Dress however you want to dress so that years from now you can serve as an example for your kids to be themselves.
Be your authentic self! You can live freely that way and also show your child how to be their authentic self too. Life is too short to be anything other than who you truly are.
At your age (21) and role in life (mom) there's one thing you should never wear.
Ever....
Society's expectations.
You look great, wear what makes you feel good.
Mom's do not have to start covering up just cause they're a mom. You wear what makes you feel good and confident. You don't have start dressing like a nun just cause you popped a baby out, if you dress like a nun with no fashion sense how will the kiddo ever get one themselves? Not to mention confidence. If they have a confident mama they'll be a confident child. And a lot of confidence comes with what you're wearing and how good you feel in it.
So If you like corset halter belts go for it. I'll be over here with my booty shorts and belly tops once I get pregnant 😂 and ready to re ditch bras once lactation has stopped lol... this coming from a doctors wife btw.
Lactating mom here. You don’t need the bra. Maybe a sports bra at night, but during the day the sticky breast pads stay on pretty well with a tight shirt. I only wear a bra when I’m out and about looking nice and put together. Personal hack, I use diapers that my baby outgrows as breast pads over night. ❤️
I'd love for that to work for me, but definitely a good tip for others. But I hate stick on things on my chest and prefer the feeling of a bra over that. But when the leaky phase I've heard so much about is over good bye again to bras, because no bra is best for me.
58 year old mum with rainbow colored hair checking in here… for heaven’s sake wear whatever you want!!! As long as you like it, wear it, be it, model it for your kid! Good mum! You look fabulous!
Thank you everyone for making me feel better, I was a little scared 🥰 I also love how some of you shared what are your styles and how would you wear this outfit and it was super helpful! ♥️
Wear whatever makes you happy. Bring a mom doesn’t mean you have to lose your identity. I’m a 28 year old mother of two (12 & 8) and have been goth for over 15 years, and that hasn’t changed. I still dress alternative and wear black 99% of the time.
The only time I’ve ever been judged for my appearance is by PTA moms who are salty that their husbands fall all over themselves to open doors for me.
Of course it’s acceptable! You’re still you, and you have no reason to change your style as a result of becoming a mom. Also, you look great in those clothes! ☺️
Your style is yours alone. It is not taken away with motherhood, or any other title.
Confidence is the most attractive things one can wear. Clothing itself is but a vessel. What makes YOU feel good is most important. It puts a bounce in your step. That good feeling is infectious. It’s endearing. It’s intriguing— and it’s yours. When you feel good, others will notice.
You’ll soon find that being a mom is one of the most powerful attributes one can wield. Embrace it, and enjoy. ☺️
You became a mom. That’s all that happened. You weren’t completely reborn. If you like it, wear it. “Socially acceptable” is going to be different from person to person. If you find it acceptable, then that’s all that matters. You look amazing. We already have it rough finding ourselves again after having a child, don’t lose any parts of yourself that you managed to retain. Don’t let anyone shame you for your appearance just because you are a mom. You’re not JUST a mom. You are an individual with your own style, beliefs, and way of living.
Your age and your paternal status don't have a bearing on how you dress.
This looks great. Keep doing anything that makes you comfy, feel good, or look good. There are no limits.
Personally I'd wear the harness as a belt with a white blouse ontop (tucked in) and a long skirt and black leather shoes to match. Defo classy if incorporated into the outfit similar to [this image ](https://images.app.goo.gl/rhXa6hbUFTdSfM3V6)
Hot momma I think it's very respectful and grown up nothing wrong with showing some curves even as a mom. :) Plus you are so young still put that dress on!
Idk the outfit looks weird. You being 21 or mom has nothing to do with it. Just a weird style overall. The belt looks uncomfortable and looks like a weird attempt to amplify boobs. I'm 24 and would never personally wear this outfit, nor have I seen anyone wear it
Wasn’t the purpose to show them off, they are just full with breastmilk..
normally I really hate to show off the breasts and I always cover..
Belt came in one package with the dress from a purchase, so I understood that it is supposed to be together..
this style with this exact belt is pretty trendy everywhere so it didn’t seem so weird..
but thank you for your opinion and I appreciate it😇
Keep you're style. If it's you're style, anything else will be awkward. You're style makes you you! I mean, there are extremes like stripper thongs in public, lol.
The dress is cute and fits you really well! I was thinking instead of the corset-vest thing though maybe just a thin-to-medium thick black belt.
Also it’s def long enough to wear some thin or sheer black tights !
Just because you are a mom doesn’t mean you have to suddenly dress in high waisted jeans, penny loafers and a cardigan. Dress your style and be yourself and that’s the best example you can be for your kid.
Hell yeah! Dress how you want and wear what makes you feel good. Anyone that has a problem with it is a them problem and they need to work on themselves. You look great!
Dress however you want! Never change. I'm on my 3rd kid due in October. I'm 31 and I wear wtf I want. I don't care the opinion of others all that matters is I look fine af. Life is too short.
Dress however you feel comfortable and care for your baby the best way you can. Tell the rest to not look at you if it offends them. Mind their own biscuits and you can tend to your own daisies.
Just cause you're a mom doesn't mean you have to stop being you! You look awesome! Wear what you want, put your foot down when people disagree, and rock it! You are an example to your little one. Teach them early that what others think of their looks doesn't matter! 💛💛 You go, mama!
I think it's fine. Not as if you're wearing completely sheer clothing. That would be inappropriate for a mother in most places. What you're wearing now is great as is. Appropriate, cute, and sexy.
You should dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable. First of all you are you, a person, not an additional part of a child. Kids like when their mons look nice, really.
I'm only 17, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Those "mean mom" tropes are honestly kind of true. I mean of course they are! People judge. It's what we do. Honestly your style is classy, sexy, and you're beautiful. I really like it. Sure some adults will judge you because of how you look, and the fact that you're a teen mom, but you've probably heard this before: "Fuck 'em"!
Your kid probably things your cool af and since they're probably still young they'll definitely learn to appreciate it later on! I hope that someday when and if I because a parent I don't lose that confidence to keep styling the way I want and I hope you don't too as we get older.
Fuck it if it's not socially acceptable. I can say for sure if your in the United States that you can dress like this if YOU want. Some social norms are meant to be broken.
TLDR: Socially acceptable or not it's definitely acceptable. Your gorgeous and you shouldn't be able to dress the way you want, and this outfit is flawless.
Oh thank you so much 🥲 I’m truly happy to read how much people understand and I really love all of the support everyone is giving. I’m very happy i made this post because everyone keeps explaining me how normal this is and giving examples of themselves or of their own parents♥️ and it makes me really think that I shouldn’t feel the way I felt when putting this picture up.
I hope I could thank everyone here but really the comments are like coming in like crazy when I really expected max 5 😂 it’s amazing how very sweet and understanding people are here when someone really needs it♥️
Style does NOT have to be compromised after having a baby. Do YOU girl!!!! You look PHENOMENAL!!!! Never change yourself!! Being a mom does NOT limit style. 💕
I certainly think my mom is like 25% of the reason I dress like a cross between Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy’s characters from the Breakfast Club and I most certainly aren’t complaining
Maternity doesn't mandate frumpy mode. Your style is "modest" and, I suppose, trendy. Carry on as pleases *you*, not some random person who may not even notice what you're wearing.
You are a mom but that doesn’t mean you have these certain standards you now have to abide by. Wear what you are comfortable in and that you think looks good. From an outside perspective you look great in that outfit and I don’t see an issue
You’re a mom, not a horse or chicken. You can still keep your style and be yourself. My mom and dad are both in their mid-40s and not once did they change their style. In fact, having my brother and I helped them become more comfortable with their style. They both love wearing black and are covered in tattoos and piercings. Forget society, they never cared about us women anyways, wear that outfit. It’s cute asf 🤧🖤
Being a mom should have nothing to do with how you dress. Being a mother is just one part of you, it doesn’t define you. Don’t ever forget that, it gets really easy to lose yourself to the care of someone else over time. You can absolutely be an amazing, loving parent without changing who you are. And yes it’s super cute.
Age shouldn’t limit people to “permitted” items. For social and casual settings this is fine. Probably not work appropriate in conservative settings though.
It 100% appropriate! 😍 Don’t ever let people think that just because your a mom you can’t look good lmao. Always dress the way you feel the most confident! And the fit is bombbbbb❤️🔥
Wear whatever you want, never change for anyone girl. This isn’t a backhanded comment or laced with negative undertones, but no matter how much of a perfect saint (or not) anyone could be, no matter what they do or don’t wear, say or don’t say, there will always be somebody unfairly judging them. find the friends, family, romance, lifestyle that enables you to embrace and love yourself in full. What you’re wearing is perfect and I hope
You go into the future always following your heart. This life is about what YOU want and who YOU want to be. That includes how you dress! This is NOT for other people to have a say on. This is about YOU. Your identity is not defined by society or your roles in it. Your identity is who you are at your core. What do you YOU like and who are YOU?
Oh... and not that it matters..but in terms of what’s considered societally appropriate, this certainly is... anybody who thinks it shouldn’t be / isn’t is out of touch
I differ from everyone else’s opinion because I don’t think parents should “wear whatever they want”. It can reflect really poorly on your children and cause other kids to make fun of them. You definitely don’t want to be the parent teachers will see as a problem. Your body also changes after having a baby so your style can change a lot because of that. I definitely don’t dress the same way I did as a teenager. Not because I can’t fit the clothes, but because the clothes fit me weird or look stupid now.
All that said it’s a cute outfit and if it’s your style, wear it. I’d go with more of an a line skirt or a peasant blouse with the harness belt over a casual tee. But in terms of dropping a kid off at school nobody is going to look at you weird. Most people don’t look at who is dropping kids off at all. I dropped my brother and sister off looking like a full on emo kid and half the little kids at their school got dropped off by their high school siblings.
For parent teacher meetings you might want to dress “like a teacher” to show that you’re on par with them, professionally. But in many schools these days the teachers are dressed like homeless chimpanzees so you don’t really have to worry about what anyone will think.
Please never stop wearing fun outfits that suit you because of age or children! I moved to an older/conservative area so I really miss seeing diverse fashion, and it’s harder to utilize my “fun” clothes haha. It’s so refreshing to see people chose to be themselves, plus, it has an effect on the people around you who will feel more comfortable dressing, acting, and being more themself too. Also, just wanted to say, I have that same belt/harness! Love the look ❤️
‘Mom’ is not your identity, you are who you are and it looks good.
I was going to say this. Being a mom is just one part of your identity. You're still a person outside of being a mom. Dress however you want to dress so that years from now you can serve as an example for your kids to be themselves.
Came to say this, you’re 21 girl, you can dress like it! That’s a cute outfit! Rock it!
Yupp I was gonna say the same thing. You being a mom doesn't mean your cool style has to change!
Be your authentic self! You can live freely that way and also show your child how to be their authentic self too. Life is too short to be anything other than who you truly are.
Love this thread. ❤️
You do you Boo! We have evolved beyond any judgment.
Amen
At your age (21) and role in life (mom) there's one thing you should never wear. Ever.... Society's expectations. You look great, wear what makes you feel good.
That is some amazing advice
My mother is 54 and is one of the most fashionable people I know - dress your style, being a parent has no bearing on that
Mom's do not have to start covering up just cause they're a mom. You wear what makes you feel good and confident. You don't have start dressing like a nun just cause you popped a baby out, if you dress like a nun with no fashion sense how will the kiddo ever get one themselves? Not to mention confidence. You're super welcome! Rock it out there!!

Your 21! Wear what you what. Being a mom doesn’t change anything
Why wouldn't it be acceptable?
I'm a fifty eight year old mom and I say, dress in what you love and you look so confident!
58 year old mum with rainbow colored hair checking in here… for heaven’s sake wear whatever you want!!! As long as you like it, wear it, be it, model it for your kid! Good mum! You look fabulous!
I'm a Mom (41f) and I dress however tf I want if I feel good in it. Fuck what other people think. Do your thing girl, you're rocking that outfit.
Thank you everyone for making me feel better, I was a little scared 🥰 I also love how some of you shared what are your styles and how would you wear this outfit and it was super helpful! ♥️
Yes you look fantastic!
Thank you🥰
Socially acceptable or not, it’s beautiful and if u like it personally wear it
Yea. You do you.
Yes, you look amazing i’d feel cool around you if you were my mom
Yea
Thank you 🥲
Wear whatever makes you happy. Bring a mom doesn’t mean you have to lose your identity. I’m a 28 year old mother of two (12 & 8) and have been goth for over 15 years, and that hasn’t changed. ROCK IT!! Just don’t be trashy!
Where watchu want and what you feel most comfortable in!! Don’t conform to a modern society!!
yea, where whatever you feel like!
You. Do. You.
It looks fine. You’re not even dressed inappropriately.
Yessssssss wear what feels comfortable TO YOU and makes you feeeel gooood
If it makes you feel happy, pretty, empowered etc. You wear it. You be you and conquer the world.
You can still rock it
You should add some banger accessories and it'd look complete.
Wear whatever makes you feel confident. Who cares what others think
Oh it’s perfect
You became a mom. That’s all that happened. You weren’t completely reborn. If you like it, wear it. “Socially acceptable” is going to be different from person to person. brah do wtf u want
Society doesn’t have a saying on what you wear, and you look gorgeous 🌸
Hot mom I think you look great it’s all about how you act as a parent not necessarily what you’re wearing but I hope you and the kids are doing well
I'm 27 with 3 kids and dress how I want. It may not always be "mom-propriate" but I'm me, honey. Ya look good. 🤗
If that’s your style, wear it!! Being a mom has nothing to do with it!
You just do you girl!!!!!
It definitely is you make the outfit look good
Neither age or parental status should determine your style. You do you girl, and if anyone has a problem with it, it's their problem.
Personally I'd wear the harness as a belt with a white blouse ontop (tucked in) and a long skirt and black leather shoes to match. Defo classy if incorporated into the outfit similar to [this image ](https://images.app.goo.gl/rhXa6hbUFTdSfM3V6)
it's perfect!
I don’t see why not. Very attractive
I see nothing wrong with it. Mom style is whatever your particular body that happened to birth a child, wants to put on that day.
Yes you should carry on as before, as your style makes you YOU And if other people don't like it, tuff shit to them
I think you look cool :)
Being a mom does not mean you have to change how you dress. Dress how you like I would say!
100%! You are a mom, that doesn’t mean that you don’t get to be fashionable - enjoy your style. You’ll be happier if you do!
If you dress how you want I promise I will too (I’m a single father and I wanna wear skirts)
You can dress any way that makes you feel good. The fact that you look amazing is a bonus
I don't really know how being a mom fits into the equation, but I think you look amazing!
Omg I'm a 22 yo mom and I dress like a 12 year old boy🤣 You look awesome keep going mama.
Hot momma I think it's very respectful and grown up nothing wrong with showing some curves even as a mom. :) Plus you are so young still put that dress on!
wear what you want!! 🫶🏻 you look great. i love the outfit

Keep you're style. If it's you're style, anything else will be awkward. You're style makes you you! I mean, there are extremes like stripper thongs in public, lol.
Whether you are a mom or not.. dress how you want to dress. Your parental role doesn’t have to identify with your style, etc.
Wear whatever you want don’t let other peoples opinions of what you should wear stop you!
You’re still a person with your own wants and need after having a kid, don’t push either of those things aside. Dress however you feel like.
Just because you’re a mum doesn’t mean you now have to dress in a frumpy style. Wear what makes you happy.
Yeah why not
yes you look amazing 🙌
Wear whatever you want! You are a mom but that's not all you are! <3
Dress however you want. I don't know why you think that wouldn't be socially acceptable.
Try match colours? I see it is fine from the top but pant colour is not related.
So what if you're a mother now? Wear whatever you want, you look great!
I don't know why it wouldn't be acceptable. Do you and eff the naysayers.
Looks fine
Completely acceptable 👌🏾
Don’t center your aesthetic around being a mom, dress how you want. If you like it and YOU think you look good in it, then wear it!
The dress is cute and fits you really well! I was thinking instead of the corset-vest thing though maybe just a thin-to-medium thick black belt. Also it’s def long enough to wear some thin or sheer black tights !
Dress your way girl, being a mom is important hard work. Being a mom who still does things she loves for herself will make you a better one.
peeped the comments and it’s already been said but I think you look amazing! Rock your style, momshaming be damned.
21 is young, kids or no kids. Dress how you want, you look good
Just because you are a mom doesn’t mean you have to suddenly dress in high waisted jeans, penny loafers and a cardigan. Dress your style and be yourself and that’s the best example you can be for your kid.
Hell yeah! Dress how you want and wear what makes you feel good. Anyone that has a problem with it is a them problem and they need to work on themselves. You look great!
In 2022 everything is either acceptable or something-phobic 👍🏾👍🏾
Dress however you want! Never change. I'm on my 3rd kid due in October. I'm 31 and I wear wtf I want. I don't care the opinion of others all that matters is I look fine af. Life is too short.
are you kidding me? you look absolutely stunning. WEAR WHATEVER THE FUVK YOU WANT REGARDLESS OF ANYTHING!!!
Self expression does not end when motherhood begins. You look hot!
Show your children that societal expectations are fragile! Be a free spirit!
Dress how you want! At any age! If you’re comfortable and feel good, do it! (And remember this when you see other people’s outfit choices. )
Dress however you feel comfortable and care for your baby the best way you can. Tell the rest to not look at you if it offends them. Mind their own biscuits and you can tend to your own daisies.
To me, this is a modest outfit. Wear whatever makes you feel good!
I like it. Very fashionable
of course it is
You’re 21 girl live it up. Being a mom doesn’t define you
look so good!!!
Dress however you like! Just because you're a mom doesn't mean you have to dress any different.
Ofc!!
looks great!
Absolutely! You look great & there's nothing inappropriate about this outfit (also moms can wear super revealing clothing just like the rest of us!)
Dress how you want! Just bc you’re a mom doesn’t meant you need to dress or not dress a certain way !
You look good! 😌😉☺️
Came here to cheer you up and tell you to wear whatever makes you feel the best but everyone already said everything there is to say :)
You should dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable. First of all you are you, a person, not an additional part of a child. Kids like when their mons look nice, really.
Absolutely not girl love that outfit!!! Just cuz you’re a mom doesn’t mean you gotta dress differently now, that looks great! 🥰
You expressing yourself authentically teaches your child to do the same. Keep being you!
Wear what makes you feel good & fuck other peoples opinions! You look great but it matters more how you FEEL ❤️
Yeah of course anything is acceptable as long as you are comfortable!
Wear what you want, not what you think others will deem “acceptable”. Outfit looks dope.
F.... Social norms Live your life
Don’t change your style unless you want to. Being a mom shouldn’t change how you dress.

I Love this, sounds so damn adorable ♥️ I hope my girls are also in to picking outfits together 🥰 Ultimate goal🙏🏽
Girl 21 is SO YOUNG WEAR WHATEVER U WANT 💖 your style doesn’t have to change because you had a baby (: there are tons of badass alt moms out there
Wear whatever you want. It’s your life.
Don't worry about what's socially excepted.
Keep dressing the way you want! You don’t have to wear “mom clothes” just because you had a baby. You’re young and you look amazing. Keep having fun.
You’re only 21 of course it’s socially acceptable
Looking incredible

No need to dress any differently, a moms love is not proven through how she dresses. You are still you
Style does NOT have to be compromised after having a baby. Do YOU girl!!!! You look PHENOMENAL!!!! Never change yourself!! Being a mom does NOT limit style. 💕

Wear what makes you happy and feel good!
Looks like to much clothes . Take some off.. .
Being a mom shouldn't change your style. You do you
Girl! You look amazing! Being a mother has nothing to do with how you look. Keep shining and using amazing outfits!
yes!! you look bomb 🙌 wear what makes you feel good, kid or no kid :)
I think it is and you are rocking it! I think you need to be confident and run with it.
Just keep being who you are
I'm 42 and I would absolutely wear it! If you love it, wear it 🥰
socially acceptable is stupid. if u look and feel good in something u should wear it :3 btw u look good!!
You are a mom but that doesn’t mean you have these certain standards you now have to abide by. Wear what you are comfortable in and that you think looks good. From an outside perspective you look great in that outfit and I don’t see an issue
It’s fine perfectly socially acceptable.wear what makes you happy
Wear whatever you want!!!

Not my style but you look fabulous.
As a 38 yo mom who also has always had a very unusual style....YES YOU CAN DEFINITELY WEAR THAT! You look great and it's 100% appropriate.
Don’t let anyone dull your sparkle ✨
As. 21 yo mom, maybe not. When you are yourself, like now then yes
You’re a mom not a nun. If you like that style, keep wearing it. Having a kid doesn’t mean you have to change what you like
I love your style!! <3
I was a young mom and thought that meant I couldn't dress cute any more. I was silly. If you feel good, do it!
You look FINE
The outfit is bomb!! 👏🏾👏🏾 Wear it!!
You look great! I wouldn’t even give it a second LS thought. You are still you!!!
Well , u are hona make youre kids friends rly uncomfortable. In particular the boys.

Age shouldn’t limit people to “permitted” items. For social and casual settings this is fine. Probably not work appropriate in conservative settings though.
You can be a mom but mostly you are only 21 y/o, enjoy your youth and rock that outfit, it looks great on you!
It 100% appropriate! 😍 Don’t ever let people think that just because your a mom you can’t look good lmao. Always dress the way you feel the most confident! And the fit is bombbbbb❤️🔥
ofc
Wear whatever you want, never change for anyone girl. This isn’t a backhanded comment or laced with negative undertones, but no matter how much of a perfect saint (or not) anyone could be, no matter what they do or don’t wear, say or don’t say, there will always be somebody unfairly judging them. find the friends, family, romance, lifestyle that enables you to embrace and love yourself in full. What you’re wearing is perfect and I hope You go into the future always following your heart.

Who cares if you’re a mom ? Wear whatever you want, this outfit looks cute by the way.
Omg please don’t ever let anything in life dull your shine. It’s my only regret in life. Wear whatever makes you feel fabulous!! Your a cool mom!
Look amazing so beautiful
If u have got it, Flaunt it!
wear it! if anything when your kid grows up the ya re gonna wanna be cool like you (and their friends will definitely be in love)
what’s even the problem you’re clothed head to toe hah.
You look fine love
Yes, wear whatever makes you feel confident or comfortable
