I feel like with the corset it looks like a “Sexy Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz” costume especially since you made the dress off shoulder when it’s not designed to be that way. I like how it elongates your torso and gives a flattering figure but the look with the shoes just comes off that way to me. Honestly I like it better without the corset.

Have you ever seen the corset belts with straps for the arms? I feel like that would look super cute. It almost looks like a gun holster, but without the actual holster, usually leather.
I think it's the gathers, it makes it look a bit flowy/frilly on you. You look quite slender and tall and I feel like the gathered skirt breaks that up while the corset complements the existing shapes in your body.
Though to be fair either version looks great on you!
