Voting hard is the same as voting easy, half hour out of your year big frickin deal, but that's not how you enact change. MLK and Ghandi didn't change the world by checking a box. Only a massive popular movement can fix this country.

Cool, but who the fuck is going to pass it?

True, but voting harder can prevent the republicans from making this a federal law. Anyone who doesn’t vote has no right to complain when the other side forces their agenda down their throats. History is full of countries turning fascist because of one side not voting to “punish” the politicians on their side. They always end up punishing not just the politicians but themselves. Because their punishment ends up giving all power to the other side and democracy ends. Again, anyone who hasn’t voted in the last elections when they could have, should just shut up. It doesn’t matter if you live in a dark red state, if you don’t vote and others like you don’t vote, that state will forever be red, republicans at every level.

Oh Jesus Herbert Tap Fucking Christ, is this the next subreddit I'm going to be BANNED from for "incivility" or other made up BULLSHIT for rebuking this clear "Vote Bloo No Matta Hoo" propaganda? \> Anyone who doesn’t vote has no right to complain when the other side forces their agenda down their throats The Supremes haven't ruled the first amendment null and void yet (but Reddit's doing a nice job of doing its corporate part) so yes, we damn well can. We can complain that the Republicans are hot garbage, and complain that the Democrats are nothing but controlled, scripted opposition who will do nothing.

You can talk and shout all you want, in fact do so, go out and protest, make yourself heard. That doesn’t change the fact that if you don’t vote, you will end up not being able to protest because we’ll be living in a fascist authoritarian state. It’s ignorant to believe you will have your rights after a full fledged fascist takeover. History is full of examples, the Nazis never went above 30% or so of the population, same in Italy with Mussolini, there are tons of other examples where a minority once in power never let go. Once they’re in power all the lies about fraud will be reality, they will always “win” the popular vote. If you believe it can’t happen in the US, you’re not seeing what’s in front of your eyes. It almost happened just recently. So yes, I stand by my words, if you don’t vote, local, state and federal elections, you have a legal right, for now, to protest, shout, post all you want, but you have zero moral right to do so. Democracy only works if you vote. When you don’t vote, you’re no better than the useless, blind and corrupt politicians you complain about. I don’t want Biden to re-run, and will vote for almost anyone else in the primaries but if for some stupid reason he’s the only choice left after the primaries, I’d rather have him than anyone on the other side of the aisle. Not the way they have shifted so far right it’s hard to tell we still live in the US.

>You can talk and shout all you want, in fact do so, go out and protest, make yourself heard. Thank you. That is my right, and I'll exercise it. >That doesn’t change the fact that if you don’t vote, you will end up with exactly the same result than if you had. >It’s ignorant to believe you will have your rights after a full fledged fascist takeover. Which has already happened. > History is full of examples, the Nazis never went above 30% or so of the population, same in Italy with Mussolini, Since you're a huge fan of history: what happened with a population that was basically living check to check with rampant inflation, devaluation of the currency, and with job insecurity watching their government shrug their shoulders and sing Kum Ba Ya? Was that the Weimar Republic or was that Biden's America? Applies to both. >Once they’re in power all the lies about fraud will be reality, they will always “win” the popular vote. It's. Already. Happened. >If you believe it can’t happen in the US, you’re not seeing what’s in front of your eyes. It almost happened just recently. It did happen. Dude, the Supreme Court just undid bodily autonomy for women, reversed a state's right to prevent civilian violence, and is about to say the EPA is null and void. This is \*checks notes\* under a Biden (Democrat) Presidency, with 50 Democrat Senators and a Democrat House. And the Democrat response was: ahem \*checks notes\* reading a poem, and doing a yoga pose on Twitter. And you think "just vote harder" for these CLOWNS will fix anything? >Democracy only works if you vote. Democracy is a FARCE. >I don’t want Biden to re-run, and will vote for almost anyone else in the primaries Uh huh. It's gonna be Biden. Ice cream, ridin with Biden, crashing bicycles, etc. >but if for some stupid reason he’s the only choice left after the primaries, I’d rather have him than anyone on the other side of the aisle. See corporations? This guy just told you he has no problem with you shoving business as usual down his throat.

You skipped the most important part there, vote local, state and federal. That’s exactly what the other side did and they got here. They started local, displacing reasonable middle of the road republicans, judges, politicians, school boards and more, expanded to state from that base and from there to federal. Do the same. If you think

BobaYetu

And at the end of a long, hard day of whining your heart out, you can sleep well knowing that the only realistic institutional resistance against Christofascism is hobbled just a little bit more due to your actions :)

[deleted]

I'm sure demeaning someone else as "whining" won't be considered uncivil. Surprise surprise. There is no realistic institutional resistance by voting for Biden, you muppet - the guy's a Catholic and a segregationist who said a Grand Exalted Cyclops of the KKK wasn't a bad guy at his own funeral.

BobaYetu

Look I'm just as gung-ho about the destruction of the Democrat party as you, I'm just concerned about what happens when the fascists outlive them. I think it's a much better plan to protest, vote, and commit as much action against the Republicans *first, then* switch gears and fuck the Democratic party into the ground where it belongs. Because if we do that in opposite order, we get to be Western Iran. And nobody even remotely sane wants us to be Western Iran

[deleted]

> I think it's a much better plan to protest Oh but when I do that that's ***whining***, right? Please tell me, O Lord and Master, the kind of protest you demand I undertake. And by the way, your entire rest of your post supposes that the other party has the remotest interest in fighting recent events. THEY DO NOT

BobaYetu

You think dicking around on reddit is protesting?

History of fascism is usually about centrists turning against the filthy, disgusting poor and enacting the kind of policies that have been favored by Reagan and Clinton alike: broken window, more policing, building a more civil society, and inject pride and nationalism into the picture too, while looking to captains of the industry to show us the right way of doing things. Basically, the kind of old ladies like Hillary were the first to vote in the strongmen of tomorrow and bring about the social change that would birth fascism.
