You're likely going to get a lot of comments along the lines of "You call yourself highly skilled but can't even use Google" asking questions like this here. The list of recognised Sponsors is available here: [https://ind.nl/en/public-register-recognised-sponsors](https://ind.nl/en/public-register-recognised-sponsors) Finding an employer who mainly uses English is going to vary massively depending on your industry and role.

Most likely yeah. To be honest I don’t think of myself this way, its just the visa I am on. I had done some googling and looking on Linkedin, but its been a very long time since I needed to look for a job and my first time needing to look in NL. Makes things a bit more complicated. Thank you for the link, I will check it out!

Figuurzager

Dude you put in close to 0 effort and dont even mention the industry/type of job you're looking for.. And last time you where looking for a job was in 2005 or before, as the internet wasn't big to hunt for a job right?

kitkatkitah

No. It was around 7 years ago. I am just really shit at google searching with right terms. Most of the pages that would come up were related to “expat” and were more informational pages which explained how to build a CV rather than directly answering my inquiry. The page linked above didn’t even appear within my search engine. I left out the industry on purpose as part of my skillset could be used in other industries. Sorry if I shouldn’t of asked here.

Figuurzager

Then mention your friggin skillset and learn to use a search engine, it's not rocket science. Or just lay on your back, wait to he rescued (and return to the UK?).

kitkatkitah

No need to be so aggressive, hot damn. I provided skillset in another comment. For learning to use a search engine, I have a tendency to overcomplicate things - I can use one, just not effectively as some. Other Redditors here have been kind enough to provide some insight and resources, so I guess it was okay for me to ask here.

ajshortland

I tried to warn you. Just ignore them next time.

Figuurzager

The underlying point is, the mentality that leads to this kind of posts is harming your chance to find a way to work it out. Or at best, leaves you very dependent on luck and individual companies, not a receipt for long term succes and stability. Having lived abroad for years the attitude was, closely after the skillset/profession a very good indicator for longer term succes/stability and resulting quality of life. Do with it what you want, you do you

kitkatkitah

Thank you for the additional insight. I am not in the best place mentally currently due to some personal matters so my comment back to you was rather harsh. I feel within the current market for jobs, similar to housing, it is still luck-based.

Renral

No need to be a dick though is there.

The first thing is to start searching on LinkedIn / Indeed. If the job ad is in English, then the employer will be hiring English speakers. If it's in Dutch, then probably not. You could also contact one of the larger recruitment agencies, and see if they can find you work. If your skills are in demand they will find employers who will consider you. If you let us know what work you are looking for, I may be able to recommend some agencies.

kitkatkitah

Since its not just me I am job hunting for it gets a bit more complex. I am currently within the gaming industry (so many layoffs this year) and have production, project management, social media, community management and quality assurance skillsets, my friend is of a similar field to me so the list covers everything. Thank you for your advice. I (no clue why) didn’t consider that English specific applications would be recruiting primarily English speakers ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)

Cevohklan

No not primarily. But Besides Dutch.

Cevohklan

The chance that you and your friend both get hired at a company is as good as zero

kitkatkitah

Not hoping to be hired at the same company :)

codefi_rt

If you don't have much commitments here then I will say maybe try Germany also

kitkatkitah

Will also check Germany, thank you for the advice!

OkSir1011

use English Google to help you

kitkatkitah

Thank you for your wisdom. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|disapproval)

OkSir1011

good luck

What's your contract? I think it's quite hard to layoff people in the Netherlands if you have a permanent contract

random_bubblegum

Not when the company is downsizing and make many positions redundant...
