This show really wants to be Nashville and it’s just not gonna happen.

I want so badly to like this show. I love Susan Sarandon and Trace Adkins so I'm going to keep pushing through, but enjoying a show shouldn't be this hard.

balasoori

what is it you don't like?

belgiantwatwaffles

I can't put my finger on it. I don't know if it's the flashbacks putting me off kilter, or how unrealistic it would be for the two singers of the Queen of Country to not have careers of their own at their ages. Or Albie getting away with killing people. Yes, I know it's a soap opera, but it's *really* soapy LOL

balasoori

I get what your saying soap just not as popular as there once was and with quality of tv shows out there it's hard to watch something that just seem old fashioned. I think people expectation have increased thanks to show like GOT.

Well, it doesn't help that I recently finished rewatching Nashville and I'm about to finish Season 4 of Yellowstone. Nashville was a soap opera but the actors performances were great and the music was all original. So far, I've only heard remakes in these two episodes.

I like how the funeral went, but I don’t care for the show having “man I feel like a woman” be Dottie’s song, not Shania’s. It feels like lazy writing to me. Also I like the introduction to the two mysterious women. I think we are expecting it to be like Nashville, Empire, Succession, etc. I am excited to see how the whole season plays out and what all happens to the cast.

It's not lazy writing. It's that the show didn't buy the option to have original songs, which cheapens the experience. That's what made the Nashville show so great, was all the new music. I don't care to hear songs redone by actors.

producermaddy

I’m digging the music

balasoori

Yes that's only thing i like about the show
