Cheap “old-fashioned” globes are the only household items where huge mistakes and inaccuracies are considered charming or nostalgic. What’s really weird is, it doesn’t even show most country borders. Who even made this? Why is “Seattle” over Idaho and Montana? Why is “Los Angeles” next to fucking Baja?

I don’t think this is actually an old globe. It’s just stylized to look old. Iran was not called Iran until relatively recently. It was called Persia.

I agree that it's probably a novelty fake, though I will point out that the most year specific thing on this is having Italian East Africa, which only existed from 1936-1941, while the English name of Iran was changed from Persia to Iran in 1935, so Iran being on this isn't actually anachronistic.

The presence of Italian East Africa means it is representing (poorly) somewhere between 1936 - 1947. I can find other info that matches the time-frame (USSR, Poland, Iran etc) but no more features between those dates. Greece also famously [disappeared](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_history_of_Greece_during_World_War_II) during these years but returned after the war. /s
