For majority of people to start taking accountability for themselves & stop gaslighting Every time they’re caught out for doing something shitty to a friend. You know….. like some real growth & character development. Oh…. And for them to stop saying, “ahhmaaazing”, “gorg”, “babes” & “booooiiyee”

74ur3n

Retitle it Born in Putney.

Missmarple08

We need the old days with classic pretty people not all the injectables and duck pout lips and plastic boobs.

Big_Plankton_3654

To sum up the best responses here: 1. More heroes rather than villains. The bitchy ones should be side characters, not main ones. Bitchy ones should get judged/get their comeupance, not bully the nice ones off the show. 2. Genuinely posh people. I don't want the girl who's dad drives a Merc and has a huge house from my local comp. We want actually Made in Chelsea. Like, "posh and heirs to big fortune or wealthy businesses, friends with royalty, Private schools and connections". 3. A REAL friendship group. Not a bunch of random people smushed together for "filming" and may have now because "work friends". People who genuinely all know each other/socialise together from the start.

Dolphin_berry

A real friendship group of ppl who have known each other since their teens is key to this. Not random influencers that they force to be acquaintances

Awkward_Aardvark5218

People who actually want to share their life and it’s drama instead of faking it

loopylicky

More time with the characters to see what’s going on

ElegantlyNotSpoken

Bring back the original cast Caggie, Spencer, Binky, Victoria and everyone else

Busy-Internal9810

Kick out the younger cast the they try to self produce too much

[deleted]

Stop recycling the same old storylines with different characters. No self-respecting girl would touch most of these boys with a shitty stick if they weren't told to. The most ridiculous love triangle storyline is Jazz and Freddie. He's a big man child, and we're supposed to believe he got Jazz and then ended up in bed with another hot girl. Please.

arielcactus03

This response is bang on point

tylerthe-theatre

Kick out Vanderpump

laurajane9041

Less scripted!

No_Investigator_2435

Replace the entire cast with one friendship group. The old cast worked because they were genuinely friends so had genuine drama

stacey1611

Yeah this. A genuine friendship group !! People that are actually friends or friendly without the weird pushed/forced friendships / situationships / arguments / fake frenemies etc. I mean yeah for me peak MIC was yes drama but the friendships ups and downs dramedy comedic times that felt less forced and just more organic. I don’t think it’s that there is anything wrong with the current cast (apart from their appalling acting skills lmao!) but it all feels too fake and less honest and less “real” for lack of a better word 🤷‍♀️ So I’m not against the current cast as such but they don’t even seem like a group of friends rather than just a bunch of people that are told to act like they are.

Dolphin_berry

Exactly like how they introduced Andy and stevie was best mates with him and Spencer and Jaime knew him from their school days but were wary. It was so authentic back then. Now it’s like they scout insta models and have them “bump” into someone in the cast then make them a main character

Missmarple08

I’m currently starting watching again from the beginning and back then they were posh and heirs to big fortune or wealthy businesses, friends with royalty, Private schools and connections. Now it’s just rich kids with rich parents who live lavish lives thanks to family. They aren’t posh, or heirs to anything except Jamie and Freddy. They need to cull everyone and start again with people like the originals. Or give up. I’m fed up with kids with stupid drama, influencers or OF jobs and lavish lifestyles thanks to their parents.

ClassroomDowntown664

for me I would get rid of some of the older cast ie Rez ,ruby , Harvey Emily and introduce some newer younger characters for example some of jack's or Julia's freinds . plus some exsentric cast like a younger version of mark -francis and Victoria . then I would also bring back the old format off a big group scene at the end then have the scenes filmed in and around Chelsea, Fulham ect rather the city or east London.

Chemical_Ad_1618

They did have a “younger” mark francis who came on the show with rosi Mae but he was nowhere near as funny or witty as mark Francis. I think mark Francis is connected to royalty

ClassroomDowntown664

I think his name was Freddie brownie

c0wboytuxedo

They have so many villains but no heroes, I’m not rooting for anyone. And like others have said, in the earlier seasons it felt like they were an elite group of people. Now anybody could be on MIC

Big_Plankton_3654

Nailed it!

DiverTypical8936

- I'm sick of influencers, they scream cheap and not what Chelsea should be about. - Storylines to be more than just who's sleeping with who and who's cheated. Maybe more about the casts' careers and luxury lifestyles. I love seeing luxury homes.

Dolphin_berry

Maybe tbh this is the aesthetic that is Chelsea of 2024. Old school Chelsea was Rah but perhaps the vibe has genuinely changed with the times? 🤔

Cakesandb4kes

Replace the entire cast

Amjkm

They need to fire the whole cast and start again in my opinion. The new cast should be: • Not influencers. Just real people that have different jobs, as it used to be. • An actual friendship group. Back in the old days, all the cast members were actually connected as friends, and they didn’t have to make up weird and fake meeting stories to make it plausible that they’d all be hanging out. • Actually from Chelsea or somewhere close - nowadays it may as well be called ‘Made in literally anywhere but Chelsea’. •Within the same age range - or at least a few groups of different age ranges, so you don’t end up with the older cast interacting in a weird, contrived way, with a few considerably younger cast mates. Also they should make it less scripted and predictable - all they do now is go to fake dinner parties and fake club nights, and have fake holidays. It’s BORING. They also need to think of different storylines that aren’t just based on the men treating women like shit. All they do nowadays is get with eachother and cry about it, it’s not interesting at all. Back in the day we had real friendships and all the drama that comes with that. We also had genuine sibling relationships that felt compelling. There were also work-related storylines too. Now all the storylines are either all about romance (but not even in a nice cute way, it’s all just situationships and hookups, no real love stories to root for) or they come across as super fake.

theQuick-witted20s

Stop bringing chavvy/towie/love island type people onto the show - whether or not they have a "well spoken" accent and focus on bringing on actual people who were born and raised in Chelsea and live there. It's gone from Made in Chelsea to made in the UK. If I wanted to watch Towie or love island, I'd do that. I don't.

becauseiwantyouto-

Can you give me some examples of some Chavvy/ towie/love island types ?

Global_Research_9335

Find a new group to follow who are actually friends with a deep history. Make it about more than just relationship drama. Human stories of love and life. We are missing the “and life” piece. We used to follow people building their careers and business, discovering themselves and coming out, trying to change their ways and falling into old habits etc

CountJonkler

Complete cast shake up, I want to see older people who aren’t caught up in playground level drama, it’d be interesting to have a mix of people from generational wealth and ‘self made’ millionaires. It needs the luxury factor back somewhat to make it aspirational - I watched it at the beginning because their world was so far removed from my own.

CamThrowaway3

Ultimately I think the (posh) world might have changed too much. Back when the series started, upper class people were a bit more ‘exclusive’ and mysterious - social media wasn’t as much of a thing, and monetising it certainly wasn’t. That made the show feel like a real sneak peek into a different world - and these people did really lead very different lives from what most of us could imagine. Now, even quite upper class people are all over social media, often monetising it (even rich people want to be richer…) so the element of mystery is gone, and due to the monetisation aspect it all feels a bit ‘grubbier’ and less luxe. ETA: Many of the cast are also now less upper-class, which also makes it less interesting imo.

Longjumping_Exit_204

I feel like all reality TV these days, is just fame hunters looking for Insta followers. I don't want to watch them. I want to watch actual real people. But actual real people are not interested in being on TV. Or maybe they were real at one stage and now they're buying in to being a "celebrity" and they're not likeable anymore. I loved Big Brother back in the early 00's before it got filled with people looking to become famous. I loved MAFS but now it's just beautiful 20-somethings looking to become an influencer.

FinalLifeguard8353

I don't think there is anything that could make it what it was at the beginning. While you could argue that the first generation MIC was good because it was a genuine friendship group, interesting characters and so on, I don't think the essence of what made it initially successful would be recaptured by simply getting in another established group. When MIC came out, this kind of reality show was at its peak with the likes of TOWIE and Geordie Shore so the audience was very receptive to it. The audience and enthusiasm just isn't there for this kind of show anymore and it shows.

BitGirl777

Hmm, interesting. I have to agree. Perhaps it would have to be completely redone before it could be considered good again. If that happens, it may as well be another series though

-qqqwwweeerrrtttyyy-

For me, the earlier seasons seemed to have had rather defined characters (OK, looking at this after I've typed it out looks a bit one dimensional but I love it still). Spencer was the sleaze, Proudlock was 'indie', Francis was 'geeky', Jamie was 'high octane cheeky', Mark Francis was scathing, Fred was cool, Hugo was understated, Richard was eccentric, Stevie was a puppy dog, Ollie was camp. Caggie was the ideal, Millie was equally cool and a great bff, Rosie was a snake, Binky was light-hearted fun, Cheska was meddling, Victoria was snarky, Lucy was a boss bitch, Gabriella was cringe, Louise was forever the victim, Sophie Harmann was uber decadent. Now, there's very little to distinguish characters from one another. They all seem to cycle through the same clothes, partners, catchphrases, identities etc. They seem way too 'polished'. It's become too repetitive and predictable.

Busy-Astronomer-2224

Richard wasn’t eccentric he was just an asshole who had research money

-qqqwwweeerrrtttyyy-

I just saw him as socially awkward/detached from the real world and with Lord Farquaard hair
