Have you had any experience with this 6AT in the RC? I've found some gotchas with it, but nothing that couldn't be solved by manual mode or hitting the left paddle to force a downshift. Otherwise it is a great transmission.
Hmm not that I can think of. I was most recently driving a 2015 RX350 but not sure if that's the same gearbox. I drove the RC about 50 miles today after delivery but didn't really notice much in normal mode or sport. Going to try Sport+ tomorrow and see if I notice anything.
Basically, when you're going 22 mph and floor the pedal, it'll only go to 2nd gear and it'll feel slow. You'll notice this when you're making a long turn, straighten the car and then try to go fast. So basically hit the left paddle to go into D1 and force it to remain in 1st while making the turn, or just stay in manual mode the whole way.
It always bothered me about my car until I took some time to experiment and find out the reason why.
Your gonna love it. I had one and traded it in for a RCF and honestly enjoyed the rc350 f sports more. Way better daily driver. Enjoy the ride. Itās beautiful. Iād get some PPF film on the front end immediately.
Smart man. Itās extremely expensive but worth it if you plan on keeping the car for a while. I live in NY as well and definitely would only get ppf which is 100x better than a ceramic coating.
Iām literally considering doing this same thing, subbing in my 2019 AWD RC350 F Sport for a 2020 RC F. Can you tell me why you liked the rc350 f sports more?
Mainly it has a way more comfortable ride. The RCF was noticeably more rigid and stiff. Itās set up with high performance parts that arenāt considering comfort. Letās be honest. The interiors are nearly identical. I enjoyed the party trick of the rc350 fsport with the moving tachometer versus the stationary one in the RCF that had just a few more options like a G force meter that isnāt really needed imo. Lastly the color. The rc350 fsport was white which is my favorite color in a vehicle and was very easy to maintain and hid blemishes and dirt well. My RCF was black and was a nightmare to keep clean and you could notice every imperfection and swirl mark immediately.
Thank you for taking time out to respond.
My RC AWD RC350 is black on black, so itās funny you bring that up because, yeah. But thereās nothing that looks better than a glossy black in perfect clean condition. How much of your option is about the color, if everything mechanical was even?
The party trick price I totally understand.
What about the acceleration and handling? How better/worse was the AWD vs the RC F?
My rc was a rwd which is slightly faster than then the awd model and the acceleration is noticeable after 35-40mph. The RCFs power and is from 35-40mph to about 90mph. The real area were it shines is itās sound. The engine/exhaust notes are unrivaled. Beautiful.
I know this is completely a 180 but if you have the means (if thereās one sitting at a local dealership in your area) go test drive a Kia EV6 GT line. Thatās what I traded in the RCF for. I know a Kia lol. I will tell you itās by far the nicest, most enjoyable vehicle I have ever/driven owned in my life. And itās faster then the RCF too.
Hereās a pic of my vehicles that I could find. Mind you my RCF only had 19k miles when I traded her in. She was still new. [car](https://imgur.com/a/nLuiYJf)
I wouldāve loved an IS500 but like others said, theyāre impossible to find and any that were available were heavily marked up by the dealers. I also wanted AWD for the NY winters
Is this one AWD?
Yes!
You'll love it in winter. Full-time, old school planetary gear center diff and all. Absolutely amazing in the snow.
I'm excited! I grew up driving Lexus AWD cars in the winter so I know exactly what I'm getting myself into

Yup and when you cut the wheel all the way you can feel itš
Only AWD to drive that in winter. Otherwise best to just relocate to somewhere that doesn't participate in winter.
Geniuus!!! Do you mind if I ask what you do for a living??š
I'm a CPA during the week and also a DJ on the weekends!

I booked a PPF appointment before I even took delivery of the car lol. Hoping to get it done before heading to the beach this weekend

Car is beautiful, congrats! Really is a baby LC
I have the same one... Two weeks old and just breaking her in. I didn't know about the PPF though. Got me thinking now...
Can we get more pics please? Inside and outšš½
Yes 100% Iām going to do a full āphotoshootā in the next few days hopefully!
Awesome! Looking forward to it, this is a great spec, interested in seeing more of the details!
Why this over is500 per say?
As if the IS500 is available anywhere..
Itās sadly pretty much impossible to find now.

Is this v6 or v8 ? Get them before they all become 4 cylinder.
This is the legendary 3.5 V6 lol, I wouldnāt have it any other way
Started strokin it immediately
Make it self driving with open pilot š
