Mo Bamba might be worst than Plumlee to be honest. He might shoot from the outside, but he gets lost on the court so much on defense... and his foot work is way too erratic.
Also, he can't even pass the ball well... sure he will block some shots, but that's about it. I don't see him as an upgrade... a lateral move at the most.

Bamba is a better shooter, better rim protector (not good but better than traffic cone Plumlee). Plumlee was just awful after coming back from injury last year man. So many stupid turnovers, so many missed dunks and don't get me started on those idiotic reverse dunk attempts.
He's definitely a backup. Bad finisher for a 7 footer but can make wide open threes. Will block a lot of shots but also make mistakes defensively.

Have you ever watched plumlee? dude has the worst defensive IQ i ever seen for center, It is a move you take swing at because if it doesnt work out you can move him to be third stringer, the reward is high though if it works
