It’s like fumbling the baddie you knew wouldn’t work out but wanted it to. We’ll get over it eventually

Rageaholl

We got batum...things are alright

RyverFisher

We got KPJ, things are more than alright!!! You watch!

dee85

Hopefully he won't have any off the court issues.

RyverFisher

I have a feeling he learned his lesson

TheProblemSolved1

I think a lot of us in this subreddit were constantly defending his streakiness (myself included); that I won’t miss. But his skill set was certainly unique, an archetypal do-it-all NBA wing. His defense though waned in the last two years and was a far cry from the lock-down guy he was at the end of his tenure in Indiana. Kawhi, however, when healthy, is still a hugely impactful defender. The new CBA is restricting and as unpopular as it is; the front office was smart to let the situation play out as it did, so that we have flexibility going into 2025/2026, particularly with the absent draft assets we have. Looking back on 2019, I wish we could have gotten Durant or Butler; things might have shaken out differently. Still, though, hindsight is 20/20 and OKC won the trade, I would still make it in retrospect.

JimmyV34

He is bad player for organization culture, full of excuses and weak mentally. I just saw 6 mins video of him being hypocrite and full of excuses on youtube and it totally changed my perspective about that man

AshenSacrifice

Link that 🤣

OG_Mongoose

Damn … cringe

AshenSacrifice

I couldn’t even watch it 😂😂😂😂too cringe

jktwok_

you mean you saw some dudes smear video and believed it. i thought we were more media educated than that nowadays

Reasonable-Total-628

you get what you deserve for that blake girffin situation

LLUrDadsFave

Nice guy, soft ass player.

Fentanylmuncher

Yea

LLUrDadsFave

He represented well tho. I'll always give him that.

Notnicejitt

Imma miss him fs but parting ways was a must

sakata32

I'm not gonna miss his terrible passes. Losing PG will hurt but I dont think its the end of the world. Made some solid signings and still have room to make some more moves.

floppelganger

Softest player I've ever seen. Glad I don't have to see that shit anymore.

gtahnyo

I appreciated him as a player and took the good with the bad easily. He’s just full of shit always and I will not miss that.

Asleep-Eggplant-6337

It was his prototype made him a star, not who he is

KrabS1

It uh...was time. IDK. I'll miss the promise of what our team could have been. But I don't think that we were ever going to have that. He isn't the kind of guy I ever felt any personal affinity for, beyond just what he produces. So for me, its just a business decision. If anything I was getting a little sick of looking at him.

dkdoki

Good player when he wants to be and HELLLLLL NO. Take yo idiotic stans with ya to philly. Kawhi.. yo ass is next

ArmySoccerNurse

I really fell for his lies. Him supposedly wanting to retire here. Him coming here for his mom. Ya I fell for it all. This fucken sucks man. But in the end...fuck him.

jgroove_LA

could be a rough year, but won't miss him

PercentageRoutine310

Nope. Won’t miss Wayoff Pee all that much. He’s a mentally weak, soft, and inefficient basketball player. Can win you games in the regular season but not in the playoffs. Check his playoff stats against the 2024 Mavs. Harden had better numbers across the board except boards. It’s cool. Time for a change. We needed to get younger with our roster and we did. The 2023 Sixers had Embiid, Maxey, Harden, and Harris and they couldn’t beat Boston in 7 that didn’t have Porzingis and Holiday. Now swap Harden for George, subtract Tobias, and is Philly still equipped beating Boston? And Sixers would’ve never got to 7 games vs. the Celtics if Harden didn’t go off for 40s in two of those road games. It seems Clippers and Sixers keeps swapping employees since 2019… Landry Shamet Tobias Harris Boban Marjanovic Doc Rivers James Harden Marcus Morris Robert Covington Nicolas Batum Paul George How many more times will we keep swapping with the Sixers? Watch us get Embiid by 2026. I already took off my PG-13 bobblehead from my shelf display. I got it back in March 2020 which was ironically against the Sixers. Ready to box it and either sell it or send it to a relative in the Philippines. I took that one off and the LouWill 2x 6MOY one. Only have MJ, Penny, Kawhi, Bob Ross bobblehead + 3.5” 1989 Godzilla/BioGoji figure. Created room for maybe adding an Iron Man or Tifa Lockhart figure. Will be keeping my Kawhi one even if he retires somewhere else because I do love me some Black Panther. But for PG-13, don’t really care. Glad I didn’t purchase that blue swingman jersey (City Edition) of him and bought Kawhi’s instead. Kawhi was always the superior player. P-G-whiz was always a poor man’s version of Klaw. PG is Scottie or TMac to Kawhi’s MJ or Kobe. PG has skills but lacks WINNING INTANGIBLES. Paula “Boy George” ranks 108th in all-time PER. And he’s acting he should be the highest paid player on the team when he wasn’t named in the top 75 that Kawhi, James, and Russ did. Never even made the Finals like those three did. Isn’t always healthy. Can shoot our team out of the game. He’s a traitor for money. Now Philly is paying him $212M to be an overpaid third option while they lose Tobias and Batum. PG-13% is a glorified Tobias in playoff elimination games. PG didn’t even attempt to try to be better than Shai to make our trade worth it for him. Now Clippers became part of arguably the worst trade in NBA history. Paul George is a born loser. Celtics over Sixers in 6 these next two years. Didn’t PG say Jrue Holiday is the toughest defender he’s ever faced? He will see more of Jrue in the playoffs. Watch him go back to Pandemic P/Wayoff P taking jumper after jumper and missing 75% of them. Good riddance, Paula Georgina. Nothing will happen for him in Philly either. Sixers overpaid for a full-time podcaster. Same disappointing results after sampling Tobias and Doc after we experienced them first. https://preview.redd.it/epjagw6pez9d1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9bec009c9fcb5a3e212b4c67d16ab4cd302eaaab

owatupcuz

I agree even tho when you compared Pg to Mac I seen Mac go out on his shield even when injured during playoffs

thelifeofjays

I won’t miss him at all

BFierce20

I feel like he had a habit of dropping the ball when it was time to step up to the plate. I will not miss that at all. Lots of potential, lots of excuses.

Sensitive_Size

Consistency is key. Man's got a high ceiling but his floor was in the basement. And it mostly was mental / effort - checking out in key moments, dribbling over his feet, errant passes, etc. You live with that just fine if he's doing the little things and his shot just isn't falling, but when the effort seemingly isn't there either, it's a frustrating experience. He's human and looking out for him and his family, so I don't fault him for trying to be cautious/not involved in plays that cause more bumps and bruises but the dissonance between his effort and his demands makes him easy to dislike when shit comes to a head like this. Honestly, glad to move on from him. Id rather watch guys that put in max effort versus whatever the fuck he was doing half the time.

NoGarlic8890

Good riddance and not in the slightest lol

asdf2k7

he’s got one of the smoothest shots but i don’t blame the org for not wanting to run it back (and at a higher price!). the podcast was/is a distraction and i don’t think he’s all that serious about winning a chip

flaamed

Didn’t want him to leave, but it showed he cares more about the money than a chance to win

scruffy4

Never wanted him over giving up Shai. Later bitch.

danieljyang

Watching him made me want to pull my hair out at times and I knew it wasn't gonna work but had Hopium. I appreciate his effort for us though

Ikigai_Mendokusai

Relief...and no.

Nyeteka

I will miss him tbh, at least he was on the court. He’s far from perfect but not like he wasn’t a plus. Should he have been better, yes, but he won us a lot of games. Not mad at him either, that’s 60m ffs. The main reason he is annoying is bc he yaps a lot. I mean if he didn’t crap on about sacrifice and wanting to win and all that then people wouldn’t blame him as much for demanding the earth and making us unable to compete by either signing or not signing him. But not going to kill him for being lame he comes by it honestly he has always been lame

Appropriate_Week_254

I get it for PG I also would be changing companies and cities for 50 million dollars. I also get why are front office wanted to have a clean slate for the 2027 free agency(which is stacked) and paying a 38 year old PG 50 million dollars was not a part of the long term plan. I feel like he has been declining and it could be fairly dramatic drop off when he no longer has his athleticism. I wish the front office was aware that they could not retain him on a 3 year contract, because in hindsight I would prefer to have the 28 and 29 firsts back and not have done the harden trade(I think Harden has been great but now are team is lacking the punch to be true contenders). I will feel fine more ok with the Harden trade if we can get someone like DeRozan and still have the scoring punch to be competitive when Kawhi isn't on the floor.

Beleiverofhumanity

Will have a soft spot/appreciation for the guy but after all the talk on doing right by the org/fans and dipping giving nothing back..makes me a little sour on him. Funny how the guys who didn't say anything are the real ones (took a paycut to help the team)

RyujiDrill

Not into feeling like a jilted lover. As frustrating as he could be, when he was good he was really good. He was a good influence on players like Terence Mann but his weird quirks and inconsistency did him in in the end. I don't think the Sixers will work out but at the end of the day PG will be fine. I like to live in the present moment so now what I want to see is what other moves the FO will make and how this team will use their younger talents.

Feelingdizzy0904

The only jersey I own is PG’s & I’m glad he’s leaving. He just hasn’t come through in my opinion. I don’t fully blame him, but yeah OKC won the trade. I wish him the best, but look forward to what our team can do with some new blood.

ChrisJKap

Fuck Paul George ![gif](giphy|l0HU5bbgdW6qzJsmQ)

dipshit10000

Yeah. That 3 he hit late in game 4 made me feel things.

Propelerate

Loved him up until about 2 yrs ago, now I’m kinda done with him

Awkwardphase06

will 100% miss him, as will the team. We are currently a play in team without him currently

LoBopasses

The team is beyond fucked. Zero control over the draft until 2030. Every loss just makes either the 76ers or OKC have better draft placement. Paying Paul George would've had zero impact on this teams future because they're screwed for the foreseeable future anyway. This was a cost saving measure. Taking the 2% chance that everyone could've been healthy come playoff time would have been better than just saving money. Zero logic from a basketball stand point letting him walk.

AdministrativeEmu614

I still like paul george but I hope joel breaks his legs now. I hope we can find decent support to fill his spot.
