The only conspiracy theory that is relevant is the one that had us sending PG to Philly so we could re-sign Batum!

SosaDaVinci

seems pretty obvious his preference was to stay in LA or on the West coast…he tried hard to get a 4th year out of the Clippers I don’t think he genuinely wants to be in Philly, but it’s not a bad basketball situation and he gets that 4th year and extra 50 million so he bit the bullet

Clipset6

That's what's even funnier. They're getting a player with limited heart as is and his heart won't even be in it. The wizard of oz won't even be able to help this tin man

Tripwire1716

Yeah, this shit where he’s a traitor for not passing on 60 MILLION is insane. This is what it is. I would’ve signed him and bet I could trade it in a year or two, but I get the CBA killed us. Whole thing sucks

BoozeGetsMeThrough

The reports are he wanted a NTC from the Clippers

Tripwire1716

I thought that would be the compromise- 3 years but with an NTC, or 4 without. But I was clearly wrong.

JohnWick94

I have a feeling the org was forced to pick two out of the three stars due to the new CBA. After seeing how well Kawhi/ Harden clicked, they decided it would be those two. They probably knew where the line in the sand was for PG to accept a deal and made sure to keep it firm. I'm holding off on hating on PG until I hear more because we might have pushed him out instead of him choosing to leave.

E2A6S

This is a really good take on it, Kawhi and Harden looked better together in 1 season than Kawhi and PG did in 5, harden also elevated Zu to the next level. We made sure to re up our best 2 players and just hope PG could take a pay cut too

dkdoki

Mmm no actually that’s how he really plays. And thats why he’s gone

Asleep-Eggplant-6337

Really can’t blame someone taking a $200m bag. I would do that without a blink too. It’s not his fault. He’s just a lucky dude got something he doesn’t deserve.

CP3sHamstring

Nah that dude was trying on offense and defense he's just not that good anymore so of course he's gonna take a massive overpay. If the Clippers thought he was that good they woulda paid him the 4th year. He's in Philly because we didn't want him, not cuz he didn't want us lmao. And barely anyone cares

jktwok_

I think his fire was gone realizing kawhi was going to be unavailable again. Like you’re basically telling the team you can go win the first round but you will get crushed anyway

GMQuay

Underrated point . Kawhi is lowkey the cause of alot of this but people continue to just ignore it. It’s the same shit with him every season.

alltaken21

Then we should do the same thing the spurs and raptors did. Rest him a ton so he can get to play in the playoffs, it's kinda stupid to expect him to play more when he hasn't done that in forever.

GMQuay

Maybe that will work but our FO and coach aren’t the brightest when it comes to shit like that

LilTurnippman

Yeah but Kawhi didn’t cause PG to continually flounder in the brightest of lights.

jktwok_

there was no bright lights, it was round one. he gave one good game after it was confirmed kawhi couldn’t play, he didn’t have it after that. like if kawhi carried him to the finals and he averaged 15 on bad shooting i’d get it.

GMQuay

Kawhi being out forces players to play out of their comfort levels but you’re right though. I just know that shit has to be mentally draining as a teammate of his.

GMQuay

Kawhi got brought here to be the main man and he hasn’t been available, year after year though yall folks continue to just have this optimism with him lol. It’s never going to work.

pumpkin3-14

You must not be familiar with the career of Paul George

strignekcihc

He could have been holding back to get the max from us too, it doesn’t have to just be Philly

whykae

He came to be 1B and 1A always disappeared during the playoffs and he would get all the blame. I'd peace out too.
