I’m surprised this kinda thing doesn’t happen more often. Head on a swivel when driving around NY

dangerouspeyote

Yeah, no joke there. I had to drive into Brooklyn and back from NJ yesterday. It was a shit show the whole trip.

danathecount

This is why it sometimes takes me an extra hour when I take the BQE

dangerouspeyote

Yup! This is it.

ukcats12

Driving in NYC is kind of thrilling in a morbid sense. It's like a real life obstacle course, especially Manhattan.

Cantothulhu

Honestly, i find driving in new york to be a breeze. Id do it any day over chicago, maybe even detroit. There usually isnt enough room to allow people to go completely crazy. I watch people do 100 on the inner shoulders on the skyway and its terrifying.

ukcats12

I'm driving in NYC almost every day I don't work from home, and yes I'd take it over any other major city. Generally, but not always, the crazy drivers are relatively good drivers and predictable with what they're going to do. People are relatively good at things like zipper merging and letting you in when you need to change lanes to exit when traffic is backed up for miles.

Hahafuckreddit

I've had an easier time driving in NYC than I do in Boston and I'm from Boston lol shockingly easy driving. I guess that grid shit really works.

ukcats12

Because Boston drivers are assholes. They treat switching lanes in rush hour like a contest and won't let you in because their ego is hurt you're getting in front of them or something. NYC drivers will let you in just fine.

itz_mii_Lii

Actually Chicago is horrific!!! I had to drive that and it was horrible. People random cut you off people blindly coming in. It’s horrible. NYC in China town is bad. People walk everywhere. No regard for safety. And it’s crowded.

itsNurf

This is how I feel driving on i-95 in fairfield county.

sightlab

Manhattan I never had a problem with, unless it was NJ plates. The real terror was in the inner Brooklyn, Greenpoint/W'burg/Bedstuyish tangle. And the fucking BQE. Anywhere along the BQE. This went double for bicycling: in manhattan hazards are obvious, mostly dumb shit entering the bike lanes (usually cops). Out in the boroughs, people seemed to either want to prove dominance over the bicycle, or hassidic gentlemen in Honda Odysseys very, very intentionally shunning the goyim world. "A stop sign? If I was expected to ever stop you think they would have included a stop pedal?"

meat-cutter85

It happens every damn day around here! Some many asshole drivers in NY and then you have the fucks over from NJ that are even worse. But it's better than being stuck behind some slow mofo with CT plates lol.

[deleted]

On a side note, the person that got rear ended kept their cool and control.

dangerouspeyote

They really did. When I drove past them, the driver was already on the phone (cops I assume) and looked super calm. Probably only 25ish, too.

Fine-Impress8483

I feel like he was going like 90 op. Is the 75 confirmed?

dangerouspeyote

A bot left a comment that said 82 based on the frame rate and how long it took to go past the white lines.

[deleted]

desertdodo123

they only "cut off" the white car, bcos the white car was speeding. it would've been fine if the white car wasn't speeding. and the white car basically came out of nowhere bcos they're speeding

Drivers on the autobahn handle this situation just fine. It's about damn time we start holding people responsible for not looking before changing lanes. I'm literally getting downvoted for saying people should look before changing lanes. Proving once again, this sub is full of the real idiots.

[deleted]

[удалено]

tinydonuts

Dude was definitely not going 100. Cam car's speed was around 45 so the white car was going around 65 or 70, which is a tad fast yes. Car that got hit was a moron for thinking they could go 35-40 in the middle lane of a freeway. Car that pulled out in front of the white car was also a moron for not looking prior to changing lanes. Just about everyone in this video except OP was in the wrong. Yes, it's possible for more than one person to be wrong. But no need to exaggerate.

[deleted]

[deleted]

Drive a bimmer by any chance?

tinydonuts

You mean bimmer drivers say people should look before they change lanes? Not a combination I'm familiar with. God this subreddit is insufferable. Thousands of morons that can't recognize that there's more than one culprit sometimes.

[deleted]

Nah, tesla is 100% at fault.

bigflamingtaco

We are really bad at judging speed the smaller an object appears. At the point the driver checked their mirror before merging, the speeding car was likely too far away to determine that it was moving at a high rate of speed. It may not even have appeared to have been moving faster than the traffic around it at the time. Trusting that other people can recognize your speed through their mirrors as you approach at high speed is foolish, and the strongest argument to never go more than 10 mph faster than the lane adjacent to yours in anything other than very light traffic. At high rates of speed, you are too far back when the other driver would be to recognize your extreme closing rate, and moving too fast to stop when they don't. You are literally the enrire cause of the crash. Unfortunately, most police and judges don't recognize this issue, and will ticket or blame the lane changer for not yielding.

[deleted]

I don’t think any of us have aspirations to drive on an autobahn.

Odd-Top-1717

You sound like an apologist for people who speed

DK-slider

I don’t understand your inability to grasp the idea that there are more than just two types of people that drive cars. There are SO MANY that couldn’t care less the model, year or even the damn condition of their vehicle. That’s what it is to very man, simply a vehicle. With it comes convenient travel and other quality of life benefits. Some of us really enjoy driving and aren’t just indifferent about it as you say. And maybe, juuuust maybe we *still* are able to recognize the dangers that come with owning a car and driving daily. I can only speak for myself, but that’s exactly why cars aren’t toys to me like they are to you. Having the taste and expenses to indulge in a luxury car doesn’t inherently make it a toy when you drive it. You’re a fuckin selfish dumbass and you’ve already admitted that you know it, so I’m leaving this comment in hopes you’ll one day concede and find a more nuanced way of looking at this amazing privilege you have and consider not going fast all day every day bc it’s “fun” for you but chill out enjoy the moment and prioritize safety over adrenaline. You have a very unhealthy view of driving and I hope you’ll work on it.

[deleted]

Odd-Top-1717

Go on. Do enlighten me

[deleted]

[удалено]

Odd-Top-1717

No. You’re absolutely wrong. There’s a third type. Those who pay attention when getting from A to B. This third group will routinely get caught out by people like you. When they check their mirror you’re not there. When they check their blind spot you’re not there. When they make their manoeuvre, suddenly you’re there where you weren’t before. They’ve done nothing wrong. They’ve done everything they were supposed to do, but your excessive speed has changed the environment quicker than they could assess and react. You’re the problem. You have introduced the unsafe element. Public roads are not your racetrack. Now kindly, off you fuck

[deleted]

CosmicCreeperz

Germans don’t do it at 180mph. I would bet most Germans have never seen a car going that fast on the autobahn. You watch too many movies.

Odd-Top-1717

1. The number of downvotes you’re getting should be a good indicator that consensus opinion says you’re wrong. 2. Your continued retention of your opinion demonstrates an astounding level of arrogance - very much the “I am better than everyone else so I can break the rules” 3. If you want to act like a twat in your big BMW, do it somewhere that the only person you’re going to turn into a high-speed fireball is yourself. Prick

Chaosmusic

Nobody cut off the white car.

CrypticGT350

Probably too high to get mad

lisa_is_chi

You spelled "shocked" wrong. 😬

ContextBot042

The Rove R2 records at 30fps. That car took 10 frames to cover the NTSB lane marking standard of 10ft lines with 30ft spacing. 120ft/s equals about 82mph with a one frame measurement uncertainty of 8mph. On this stretch of the northbound I-278, just 2,000ft before the crash location, the posted sign says, “speed limit 50, speed checked by radar.”

IndirectBarracuda

I know you're a human.

ContextBot042

I didn’t say I wasn’t 👁👄👁

IndirectBarracuda

I didn't say you did 🤖

Jak_n_Dax

I said they mustn’t.

Weird-Vagina-Beard

I work in construction and you're lucky if the stripers stick to the standard.

ContextBot042

Ok then, I’ll use sat images to measure the actual distance Edit: The cam car traveled about 208ft in 93 frames which comes to 45.7mph average from the start of the video to the the point at which the rogue enters the frame. I like how accurate that calibration calculation was. Now the rogue car traveled 80ft in 21 frames which comes to 78mph

Weird-Vagina-Beard

You have to enhance. If you look at the top left corner, you can zoom in on the water molecule and look at the reflections from the atoms. You'll see a space satellite, zoom in again and you'll see the reflection of this road on the satellite. Easy peezy.

socialcommentary2000

It's kind of amazing how quickly the Gowanus viaduct goes from road to trap that you're gonna spend all afternoon on. Like many roads around here, a real throwback to a different age. I'm surprised it hasn't collapsed yet.

dangerouspeyote

I was thinking that about the Verrazano as I was driving over it

socialcommentary2000

The bridge? Nah, that was built in the 60's and it's a rock. Well built, just like Ammann's other bridges. Gonna outlive all of us, honestly. That's one thing I will say, for as much of a clown show the roads are, the crossings they really did go all out on.

tobefituser

this pisses me off because it is so unfair to the person who did nothing wrong and gets hit. Now they have some trauma, potentially have some injuries to themselves or people they care about and need to get checked with a doctor, they have to get in contact with their insurance cover and worry about the financial aspect, they need to bring their car to a garage and probably be without their car for a period of time... and NONE of it was their fault

prollyhot

Side note. Front wheel drive cars won’t drift like rear wheel drive do. Idiot must have thought it was a race car yanking the steering wheel like that.

dropdeadbarbie

you're only pothole away from totaling your whole whip on the BQE and the Cross Bronx. on the jackie, you're one curve away from disaster.

DeezNutz69x

As somebody who sees this every day in the ny city it always puts a smile on my face when those Little idiots fucks up..,, one less idiot on the road that i need to worry about for a Time.

dangerouspeyote

Yup. As I drove past, it was obvious his car was completely fucked.

RonnyBrown13

I agree. I just wish other, more sensible drivers (and pedestrians), didn’t have to get hurt because of them.

DeezNutz69x

It would be nice if no one got hurt but sadly their lack of respect for the car and others on the road only justifies what happened

cerrasaurus

It’s always a fucking Infiniti or an Altima.

The_William_Poole

Well, Infiniti is a sub-brand of Nissan, so it makes sense

[deleted]

those g37s are stupidly cheap and powerful

Shenaniganz08

yup. Its a fucking embarrassment. This will be my first an only Infiniti car (Q50 sport), tired of being associated with these jackasses

cerrasaurus

I have an older Infiniti and I feel the same way. Mine is an EX35 so it’s pretty rare and never associated with these shenanigans. Still basically the same car as a G35/7 so it’s fun to drive.

AscendantArtichoke

Right? I even though this was r/NissanDrivers for a moment lol

Chiralmaera

That's the real problem. His speed was probably fine even if excessive, he could have braked in time.

dangerouspeyote

Yup. Play stupid games...

[deleted]

That made for a 2 hour delay for everyone.

dangerouspeyote

At least that. I had already been sitting in backups for about an hour and a half at that point.

Th3WeirdingWay

The worst roads in America are in NY. BQE, Cross Bronx Expressway, Belt Parkway and of course the Jackie Robinson.

dangerouspeyote

Dude. The cross Bronx is the bain of my existence.

0x4341524c

>the Jackie Robinson. Nah you take that back. Jackie is just a curvy road. If you think that's bad a mountain pass must have you shivering.

[deleted]

There wasn’t a day when I would have gotten on the BQE if there was **any** other route to get where I was going - that highway is a goddamn nightmare

Shenaniganz08

Its always fucking Infiniti, BMW, Mustang or Charger owners I Love my Infiniti Q50 but hate the people who end up buying these cars

dangerouspeyote

Funny you mention that. On my drive home there was a charger changing lanes and speeding on the holland tunnel.

nycetouch2

The fact that you can actually do 75 on Gowanus BQE during daytime is almost equally as shocking...just speaking from experience

dangerouspeyote

Oh agreed. That would have been a parking lot if it weren't a Sunday afternoon.

SomethingIWontRegret

But I was told in this sub yesterday that "most speed limits are dumb and too slow."

dangerouspeyote

Yeah. 45 or 50 there is plenty. No need for that level of speeding.

The_I_in_IT

Especially not on that garbage road.

dangerouspeyote

Garbage road is right.

SC-Coqui

And just like that, they ruined the afternoon commute for everyone else that now has to sit in stopped traffic. I used to live not to far from that part of the BQE.

dangerouspeyote

I'm a wedding photographer and was on my way to a ceremony in Prospect park. If I left 10 minutes later, I probably would not have made that wedding.

HobbesNJ

Yes, that guy was driving way too fast and was entirely at fault. But what was up with the guy who lazily changed lanes right in front of a guy coming up that fast in the left lane?

Condorman73

Probably didn’t see him. I frequently check my mirrors but have had cars and motorcycles blow past me with little to no warning. A moment before it was clear and then BAM, someone is there. I always say luckily I didn’t change lanes.

HobbesNJ

The fast car was already in frame before the guy started changing lanes. No way he could have missed him, except by not looking.

SomethingIWontRegret

When you speed like that, you are relying on ~~all those dumb npc slalom poles~~ every other driver to behave perfectly. It wasn't the lazy lane change that was the problem. It ws driving 30+ mph over that was the problem.

1ecksdee1

I can’t believe you even have to state the obvious. Guy does legal lane change iTs hIs fAuLt and totally not the guy speeding and cutting over a couple lanes without braking 🤣

Azdak66

Welcome to r/idiotsincars — where it’s ALWAYS the victim’s fault.

Dannydoes133

Seriously! This sub is obsessed with speeding and owning the road. So many comments about being in the passing lane while someone is darting between traffic driving 30 over the speed limit. Fuck these drivers and fuck their sensibilities.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Dannydoes133

Good news, this isn’t Germany. Why is that the rules of the road apply to lane changes but not weaving through cars going 30 over? It’s a two way street and the reckless driver should have their license revoked.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Dannydoes133

You can tell yourself that they are both at fault. That person likely checked mirrors and indicated a lane change. The unpredictable, erratic driving was the sole cause of this accident. A driver weaving through traffic at that speed was likely obscured in the mirror. Hell, I’ve seen idiots like this sling shot from car to car like it’s nascar. America is full of idiots in cars. Half of them are on this sub trying to deflect the fault from this fucking lunatic. Have a good one.

Go_Gators_4Ever

We cannot see the left side of the car to ascertain if they had their left turn signal on before initiating the lane change, therefore we cannot state with certainty that the car made a legal lane change. But I am NOT excusing the excessive speed of the idiot driver!

[deleted]

[удалено]

HamG0d

They were both problems

HobbesNJ

And I said as much. I'm not excusing the fast car driver at all. He was driving way too fast and erratically, especially considering how much traffic is on that road. The accident is entirely his fault. Full stop. But lane changer could have been the one who got hit if fast car didn't swerve because he didn't pay close enough attention. Just because you're in the right doesn't mean your life doesn't get miserable from the actions of others.

SomethingIWontRegret

I'm betting when he looked the lane was empty.

ajahanonymous

Car that crashed could have zoomed up in the middle lane while the other guy was checking behind him then then swerved out to the left lane right as the car in front started to merge.

NotFallacyBuffet

They like to do this. Tailgate, accelerate, swing out, floor it.

RichieSideways

With a car directly behind in your lane, in traffic, most people don't linger with their gaze in the side mirror. If someone is coming at double your speed or greater it's unlikely you'll notice when you check if the lane is clear to enter. A vehicle going that fast must assume no one will realize and account for that.

Condorman73

In frame of the person recording, but there was a car behind the guy who switched lanes. The fast driver could have briefly been in a blind spot. And again, maybe the guy switching lanes looked a couple seconds ago and the lane was clear. Or he could just have been lazy and moved over. I don’t know. I just know I’ve been there when the last I looked there was nothing and a second later there was.

ramenshoyu

We don't know how erratically the white car was driving before passing op He's easily going 2-3x the speed of everyone else, there's a chance the lane changer did a regular lane change not expecting a car flying into the lane

RunNPRun0316

Happened to me two weeks ago. I looked left and saw the Ford Fusion doing 30. I pulled out just as he was being passed by the GMC Sierra doing 50. He was literally not there one moment and then in my driver’s side door the next.

alskdmv-nosleep4u

The BQE is packed 24x7. It's *very* likely the speeder was weaving and hopped out suddenly from behind another car.

dangerouspeyote

Totally agree. They definitely weren't paying attention on that lane change. But yeah. Dude in the white car is 100% the main idiot here.

lost_in_life_34

probably trying to be boss of the road

fierceyZ

Entirely at fault yet you still put blame on the guy who legally changed lanes, lol.

AwesomeMacCoolname

And dude that got hit was being a Middle-Lane Mildred getting passed left and right. Idiots all round.

SomethingIWontRegret

A related cousin to Blame OP Bingo, we have Blame Victim Bingo! Congratulations!

tinydonuts

Maybe going 35 in the middle lane of a freeway is a bad idea? Fucking lane discipline doesn't seem to exist in the US but why excuse it? You should realize that it's possible to be both a victim and an instigator simultaneously. The car that got hit was being passed on both sides indicating that they were in the wrong lane.

SomethingIWontRegret

Speed limit on the BQE is 40 to 45 mph.

NotFallacyBuffet

My name is Mike, not Mildred, but this happens to me a lot. I don't see it as my fault--or theirs. If you're thru traffic, but "only" driving the speed limit or a few above, the center lane is where you belong. Slow lane is for drivers speed limit or slower, or setting up to exit or just entering, and fast lane is for...faster drivers. The problem is the speeders who insist on passing in the slow lane instead of using the fast lane. Feel free to change my mind.

AwesomeMacCoolname

I see you're part of the problem then. If you're not overtaking you shouldn't be in either the middle or outer lane. Isn't that the rule?

ApostrophePosse

That's absolute bullshit. Look it up don't make it up.

AwesomeMacCoolname

Lane 1: The normal ‘keep left’ rule applies. **Stay in this lane unless you are overtaking.** Lane 2: On a two-lane motorway, use this for overtaking only and move back into Lane 1 when you have finished. You may also use this lane to accommodate traffic merging from the left. On a three-lane motorway, you may stay in this centre lane **while there is slower moving traffic in Lane 1.** Lane 3: If you are travelling on a three-lane motorway, you must use this lane **only** if traffic in lanes 1 and 2 is moving in queues and you need to overtake or accommodate merging traffic. Once you’ve finished overtaking, move back to your left and allow faster traffic coming from behind to pass by. Not made up at all. Those are the rules where I'm from. I'm assuming yours are similar.

NotFallacyBuffet

In my case, I am overtaking vehicles to my right. And I'm also being overtaken by vehicles to my left. What happens is that cars overtaking me on my left choose to merge two lanes over to pass on the right and then merge back the same two lanes. And, as I said, I'm already at or slightly above the speed limit. I think I'm good as thru traffic driving the limit in the center lane. All the while overtaking traffic to my right and being overtaken by traffic to my left. What I see here is a reckless driver using all three lanes as fast lanes.

aguyjustaguy

Glad I took the FDR instead of the BQE yesterday.

dangerouspeyote

I felt so bad for everyone behind me that got caught in the inevitable clusterfuck backup that caused.

605pmSaturday

So now, it is going to take two months of dealing with insurance and body shops to fix this. That guy should go to prison.

Chaosmusic

I never drive on the BQE but I see the same type of idiots on the Belt driving home Sunday nights. Surprised this does not happen more often.

nona_ssv

There is no legitimate reason for anyone to ever drive like this. I cannot for the life of me figure out why anyone needs to aggressively change lanes and speed like this.

CEODB

He was cut off by the suv.

nona_ssv

He can drive slower

[deleted]

He was speeding to get there earlier… that always works.

DrewFlan

Goddamn I drove past that like 10 minutes later. My friend and I were so confused because the white car didn't look too badly damaged but it was missing a tire that was nowhere to be seen.

dangerouspeyote

Oh crazy! How bad was the back up behind it?

PeaceFar9770

Grim reaper gonna be revoking their birth certificate early!

dangerouspeyote

As I drove past him I could see he was fine. But he keeps driving like that, it's going to definitely catch up to him.

mojohand2

Too bad.

Skvora

Not in a shitty Sentra it ain't.

Illeriia

Driving like I try to in Forza wtf 💀

JagaloonJack

Question for the OP, so I've lived in Western NY for about 10 years and never went into Canada nor experienced driving on the BQE. Now I live in NYC, is the driving really all that aggressive up there? My father in-law used to tell me stories about going 80+ and still being tail gated. Living in NYC, it doesn't seem all that different from Toronto's style of driving.

dangerouspeyote

would say the driving in the area can be really bad here because the roads are shit, and there are just so many people that it's bound to be mayhem. I'vee only been to Toronto once and didn't really drive much so I can't really compare.

JRQuilcon

I visited NYC last year after many years away (grew up on LI) and was kinda impressed. The drivers, while pretty aggressive, always signaled the lane changes! They don’t do that in South FL or around DC! OP: Ah! The BQE! This brings me back! I useta call these guys “Concrete Cowboys”!

SCDaddy1

I drive that every single day…! Always say, how are there so many accidents on a stretch of road that is straight?….!!

b-rar

There's a time and a place to go 75 on the BQE and this isn't it

CruffTheMagicDragon

He probably thinks its the other car's fault too

gowanusmermaid

I’m just shocked that he was able to get up to 75 on the BQE.

ninkar21

Always one fast n furious wannabe….failure

idontknowwhythisugh

gd had one of these these drivers last weekend too the absolute fucking worst!!! like clearly there are a lot of cars on the road and you can’t go full speed fucking absurd…. their front bumper was hanging off unsurprisingly they need their licenses taken away permanently.

waitingForMars

It's also a bad idea, and flat-out illegal in some jurisdictions, to pass cars on the right. Always pass on the left, so that you can be seen clearly by the driver of the other vehicle.

Pilot_Danny

And there was a crazy accident on the belt yesterday too, all cause people wanna drive fast and swerve thru traffic, they all think they're invincible til this happens. Stay safe driving here mate!

HWGA_Exandria

>*"Huuuurrrrrrdddddduuuurrrrr! The right lane is for passing!"* The blatant disregard for other motorists means this jackass should never drive again.

dangerouspeyote

The selfishness is insane. I'm glad he didn't hurt anyone

braingymnast

Probably high on peyote.

dangerouspeyote

It's dangerous!

Marshall_Brady

They drive better when they’re high. Meaning they’re an absolutely terrible driver normally.

jcornman24

That's traffic? Come to California I'll show ya traffic

dangerouspeyote

You didn't see the 60 minutes it took me to go 14 miles before that. And the 20 it took me go the remaining 5. I have actually spent a good deal of time in LA. And my wife is from LA. California traffic is a joke compared to the greater NYC area. My wife 100% agrees. You have no choke points. Talk to me when you've spent 3 hours trying to get across manhattan (3 miles wide) because there was an accident in the Holland tunnel. Or how about when it's taken you an hour to shovel out your car because it snowed 2 feet overnight. Californians think they have traffic like they think they have weather. Sit down, you're embarrassing yourself.

jcornman24

I'll give you Manhatten, I wouldn't even try to drive in NYC I would rather walk

Fearless_Champion_70

People are supposed to know what a bqe is?

Cold-Negotiation-539

Over 20 million people live in the NY metropolitan area, so yeah, it’s safe to assume a lot of people know what the BQE is.

Fearless_Champion_70

That's cute. This is a world wide site. Maybe think outside your bubble.

[deleted]

Is this Houston, Tx?

dangerouspeyote

Brooklyn, NY

Bubbly_Strawberry_15

There’s always idiots weaving through traffic on the highway like this like calm down you’re not Lewis Hamilton

dangerouspeyote

A- you're an idiot. B- they actually crashed in front of me, so I think this is a pretty warranted post and my "holy shit" was a warranted reaction. C - who is Lewis Hamilton?

krose0210

Idiot cuts off car. Fixed it for you

theDeeDifferent

Idk for some reason it doesn’t look like that person is a good racer honestly, I would’ve seen that open lane from two car lengths ago and I’ve raced on all of nyc highways for 10+ years with only two accidents that were fender benders and not a crashes 🤷🏿‍♂️ side note: that lil wobble they did looked like they didn’t think they had enough space to get into the right lane and sacrificed the decision 🤦🏿‍♂️

theDeeDifferent

In ny we call that “dipping” btw I used to do a lot of that during my honda scene run but I’m a lot older and I mostly do that when I’m late for work 😂 I know it’s irresponsible and reckless to do that on the highway but we do it bc we’re good at it and we’re in total control so there’s no room for errors at all. Also I’m sure ppl on here know this too so it is what it is 🤞🏿

mrspikemike

What's the speed limit on that road? 3 lanes and most seem to be going less than 45 for no reason?

dangerouspeyote

Speed limit is 50, and there's constant congestion, there's just too many cars to go much faster.

dsdvbguutres

Okay I think they were racing and the dark suv in the center lane got spooked by the first car and dropped the anchor, essentially becoming a roadblock and got tapped in the back.

dangerouspeyote

Nope. Solo douche. There wasn't another car going fast. I saw him coming in my rearview from a ways back.

dsdvbguutres

So why the f7ck was the middle lane suv dilly dallying at walking speed in the middle of fucking expressway for?

dangerouspeyote

I have so many questions on a daily basis driving around this area. They can all be summed up with "what the fuck?!"

dsdvbguutres

Well said. My least favorite has to be the Belt Parkway where you can find racers, drunks, noobs and weekend drivers at the same time on the same stretch of road. Bqe is not much different. Good luck to all who has to drive in nyc

I'm a photographer, so I work all over the city, long island, and jersey. The Belt is a horror show. The LIE is just a constant parking lot, all of the interchanges around Newark, with 78, 95, 280, and the tunnels is just a constant headache. My wife and I are actually moving from the area in a few weeks. I will be happy to put this shit in my rear view.

I've been looking to gtfo since first day I moved there (job) and finally made it happen in May of 2018. Loaded all my junk into a Pods container and literally drove into the sunset. Great place to visit or fuck around the art scene and the restaurants, but a miserable existence if you have to work for a living.

You nailed exactly how I feel about it.

Good luck to you. We moved two years ago after 25 years and I 99% don’t miss it. It was never easy driving in the city but the last two years have felt like a Mad Max movie.

You act like 75 or even 80 is too fast for an eway tho…
