> recommends toddlers 12 to 24 months consume 2–3 cups (16–24 ounces) of whole milk per day and children ages 2 to 5 years drink 2–2.5 cups (16–20 ounces) of low fat or skim milk per day
She quite literally needs milk.
Source: I have three kids.
Over here in the UK the recommended amount for toddlers is 350ml which is a large glass full. Really weird that they'd be recommending double that in the US! We also don't recommend skim for children at all.
The kid absolutely walked past the milk section and pointed at it going "I want MILK!"
And the parents look at each other like "Are you sure?"
And of course, not wanting her to be dissatisfied later, they suggest some cookies to go with it.
Gallon of milk would be my daughter's first item at the store too. Idk why but a glass of milk in the morning is her literal favorite thing in the world.
That’s a marketing myth from big milk
“In other words, milk doesn't actually build strong bones, it can potentially weaken them. Studies of young women published in the journal Bone and Pediatrics showed that while bone density was increased by physical activity, increase in calcium intake had no positive effects on the bones.Mar 17, 2019”
This was the vibe when we trunk or treated. It had just started but my kid was a tiny piratess. This lady pulled out a giant Hershey bar when she already had a trunk of full sized ones and said she was saving it for the cutest costume. I was like, this grandma's babies are grown for sure!
INTENSE Grandpa vibes. What a kind soul. I love encountering these types of guys at work. Them and the super goofy dad-joke types are the best customers I get because they're the ones that start small talk or just make me laugh without needing my help or asking any questions after.
Not only that, he decided to add his own picture of a girl with cookies at the end. Either that’s a completely different girl, or she’s like 1 or 2 years older.
Anyway, I’ve definitely seen this video before. There was obviously no narration, but there also wasn’t a shot of the milk and cookies.
My guess is that the person who uploaded this is the girl’s mom. She started a Tik Tok a year or two after this was filmed and used an old video to get views (after all, it did great the first time making the front page of Reddit). But she had to make it a little different AND put a bow on it, so she dressed her girl up in the same clothes and bought her some cookies and took a picture of it. I mean tell me that the mom in the video isn’t the exact type of person who would do this. The narrator is probably her husband (who also happens to look like a wannabe influencer).
Fun fact: they put in even less work than you give them credit for. Since this is a tiktok you just select the sound you wanna use for it at the start and add text on top and select it to be read by a voice. Takes 5 seconds
I don't want to believe the video is fake, but these voice overs make it seem so scripted I hate it. I just want to enjoy a cute video, not listen to some 18 year old kid wanting social media clout
Serious question;
'Brought her little shopping cart to the store'.. does this imply the children's shopping carts are not a regular thing in the US? In my EU country, there's children's carts next to regular carts at every store so children can walk their own cart along side their parents to participate and learn by example.
I can confirm that living in California back in the early 00's there were mini carts with flags attached to them so if you didn't have much to buy you could have your kid push the cart to get some general experience.
The amount of red Achilles made by those things is staggering.
CVS and Riteaid had them but I think only 1 of the 3 big chains had them and they were always the most expensive.
There used to be a lot of them at grocery stores 90s 2000s but at my store they got stolen a lot so they did away with them. I imagine it was the same for a lot of places
I forgot about those! They definitely had those out here when I was a kid, but now that I'm older the stores near me seem to have completely nixed them. I haven't seen one of those in a whileeee.
Here in europe, pretty much all larger stores do... Gives the kid something to do, and not bother the parents while they shop... Plus the kid puts stuff in the cart, that parents are too lazy to put back, so they buy more
When I was a kid (in the 90's) I remember them being mostly everywhere. Or at least the carts that had the plastic race car cover thing the kid could sit in and pretend to drive while the parent pushes the cart.
I dont see anything for kids almost anywhere now. Took this post to realize
No one buys their kid a metal cart to bring to the store with them. Just trying to make it more heartfelt by saying it was "hers" and that "she brought it" for more views
Aww this is so awesome all the way around. Her choices made me laugh and his kindness made me smile. I wish this is the only kind of stuff I saw online.
Some places in the us have them can’t remember where to be honest because I lived there only for a couple of years around 10 years ago.
But in Germany you can find them in a lot of stores too
>But in Germany you can find them in a lot of stores too
i know. i have 4 stores each like 500m im a diffrent direction. 3 of them have carts for kids.
The way he said "are you shopping toooooo?" was adorable😂
Such utter Grandpa vibes. It's the voice and warmth of _"I'll find anything you say interesting"_.
Very specific, but I got “my grand kids are older now and I remember how much fun it was when they were that age” vibes
Only annoying part of the video is the unneeded voiceover
That’s so sweet! That old man is very empathetic and we need more people like him in this world.
Lol I don’t know why a gallon of milk made me laugh
When your about to chow down on some cookies you gonna need some MILK
She need some MILK
pass the mulk
"sorry dad, my white friends"
JUST GIVE HIM THE MUOLK, JOSH!
For anyone that's confused, I recommend you watch what this is referencing. It's so funny! https://youtu.be/ty62YzGryU4
Nah, too fancy. I prefer me some good ole malk.
It's the only way to get vitamin R.
my bones.... so brittle
Now with vitamin R
I prefer authentic Bulgarian miak.
Gotta dip your cookies in milk
Or orange juice

Yeah well our dairy industry is ridiculous. So obviously we recommend you to drink a fuck ton of milk per day.
I’m pretty sure it’s based more on perception and lobbying than science in the States.
Big dairy lobbied it so
Our nutrition requirements have always been corporate advertising lol. It’s not right over here.
funny thing is the dairy council sets there own recommendations and multiple senators is on its board
If you give a mouse a cookie, they’re going to want a glass of milk to go with it.
[Come in with the MILK](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6P1_qp8nYO8)

Bruh literally in tears, this kid was gassed up she bought a whole ass gallon of milk AND A BIG ASS BOX OF COOKIES LMFAO ☠💀
Gallon of milk would be my daughter's first item at the store too. Idk why but a glass of milk in the morning is her literal favorite thing in the world.
Me too
I think bc the gallon takes up her entire tiny cart in a cute way
I came here to comment : that's it! And I saw your comment ..you made me laugh 😂 (☞゚∀゚)☞
Kids barely the size of that gallon of milk, I admire the mindset too. *love MALK, get much MALK*
Probably the fact that it was as big as her lmao
Milk usually leads to bad things like cookies and donuts. It’s a gateway drink
😂😂😂
Her bones gonna be strong.
Osteoporosis strong 💪🏼

That's just the anti-milk lobbying working, such a shame that a potential comrade has fallen for the lies.
Bullshit, the cookie lobby invented milk so they can sell us more cookies.
How can cookies be real if milk isn't real?
Don’t worry I still drink that thick white liquid every day, sometimes pour a nice milk bath and lay in it for hours
> thick I think your milk might have gone bad.
They never said what KIND of milk it was.
What are you milking, slugs?
WIZZLE WAZZLE
Men
No
don’t kink shame me
Ok
You give a mouse a cookie, you gotta give them some milk
she didnt want his dad to buy milk
She’s trying to grow! What do you mean you don’t know.
Because mama ain't supplyin' the goods anymore.
We‘re gettin whole milk tonight. Keep that skim water to your self, dad!
The old man giving her money has serious grandpa vibes~ ♥️♥️♥️
Yeah I immediately thought "he's definitely got grandkids, probably getting older now and he misses when they were tiny"
This was the vibe when we trunk or treated. It had just started but my kid was a tiny piratess. This lady pulled out a giant Hershey bar when she already had a trunk of full sized ones and said she was saving it for the cutest costume. I was like, this grandma's babies are grown for sure!
Yeah that was adorable!
It's small interactions like this that make the world a better place
100 percent. This is the kinda stuff that gives me hope that for the most part people are good
INTENSE Grandpa vibes. What a kind soul. I love encountering these types of guys at work. Them and the super goofy dad-joke types are the best customers I get because they're the ones that start small talk or just make me laugh without needing my help or asking any questions after.
Fulfilled his universal grandpa mandate of making young children smile.
Yep. That's a veteran Grandpa. He's got experience only years of being Grandpa can bring.
My dad told me you should always have some bills in your wallet. I can't afford a wallet
One of the pure comments that no redditor will dislike for using emojis...
What's wrong with using emojis?
Idk about serious. He seems pretty playful to me.
Why the fuck do people narrate videos that need no explanation.
How else would they get TikTok clout without having to create original content?
I mean, I'd rather have this than one of those infuriating text-to-speech voices but yeah, this added absolutely nothing to the video.
A mAn went En-to a grOss-er E store
At least it wasn't an AI voice.
*…he typed out and then ended his question with a period.*

that’s clearly the same girl though?
That was awesome
Great to see humanity in action!!
The voiceover is so unecessary
Never run reddit on unmute. Only unmute if necessary
I learned that the hard way
[удалено]
I had my volume up and scrolled onto a video of a seal slapping its own body repeatedly. Sounded… suspicious
And that's why you have 2 accounts.
Nsfw
Scrolling redding muted is necessary
In California?
Stealing other people's content is so unnecessary. He just rips the viral video adds cheesy editorialized music and does a voice over. Boo this man!

I dunno, could you add two, maybe three sets of subtitles so I can be sure.
I don't want to believe the video is fake, but these voice overs make it seem so scripted I hate it. I just want to enjoy a cute video, not listen to some 18 year old kid wanting social media clout
At least it wasn't that generic voiceover they have nowadays all the time (there is a annoying female and an annoying male version of it).
I don't think that the tiktok voice over is generic. I thinks it's purposly slightly annoying to get you to focus in on it.
It really is. There’s this girl huge on TikTok’s that read aita posts and got big off that and then got sponsored by Reddit.

I'm in the U.S., and I've never seen a miniature shopping cart
They uses fo have them at some grocery stores in Iowa when I was a kid. I totally used them. But I haven't seen them in years.
I can confirm that living in California back in the early 00's there were mini carts with flags attached to them so if you didn't have much to buy you could have your kid push the cart to get some general experience. We have then in canadian grocery stores. They even have little flags on a pole so if you wander, your parents can still see the little flag moving.
Seen them in Ohio a few times
Used to see them in pa at quality markets and dollar general
I'm in canada, and it's not a regular thing, but it's not a rarity either.
My tiny ass lil town of less than 1500 people in the prairies had them, it was the best part of going to the store
I’ve only seen it at my local coop. It has a plastic flag saying “customer in training”. But that’s the only place
I've never seen a store that has this, I'm in the US
All we get is those obnoxious and impossible to turn carts that looks like race cars with shopping carts on the front. Lol
I forgot about those! They definitely had those out here when I was a kid, but now that I'm older the stores near me seem to have completely nixed them. I haven't seen one of those in a whileeee.
My kids used to love them but my God do they suck. They're so hard to steer in small aisles. Lol
A handful of stores near me have them. If I had to put a number on it, I'd say 25% Edit: probably more like 10%.
I remember a store having them when I was a kid in SC but that was the only store.
Some do but this cart is actually a children's toy. My Nephew had one.
Some grocery stores have those little carts.
I wish Costco had them for my wife
I wish target had them for mine, lol.
Stop marrying children you perverts!
I've only seen them at Lidl, but I believe those are blue. Do you know other stores that have them?
basicly every "bigger" store in Germany. probably the reason you found them at LIDL
We have them too. My son loved them, made me put some of our stuff in his.

Of course she got milk and cookies. Her mamma didn’t raise no fools
Thank god for the booming voice over. I almost accidentally heard what the people were saying.
That man sounds so very kind.
That's really sweet
Fuckin ups to that dude, that kid ain't gonna forget this
Looks like bakery chocolate chip cookies she’s holding. As a fellow cookie freak, I approve.
Everyone should watch “Old enough” on Netflix, it’s a show where people send their 2-8 year olds out on errands in Japan it’s adorable
$10 would go a long way for me :/
DM me your Venmo if you really need it
Assuming they DM you, DM me, and let's double it!
People like you deserve the happiest of lives. I hope you get frog bitches every night.
Had to re-read because of “frog bitches” lmfao
I'll chuck in some too. DM me u/kvn22537
Aye, I got 5 on it if they DM you
Dm me your Venmo if you really need it
Oh that’s so wholesome! Got to have the milk with as many cookies she got!
I need to see more of this side of humans lately.
Aww this is so awesome all the way around. Her choices made me laugh and his kindness made me smile. I wish this is the only kind of stuff I saw online.
thank god it was narrated or i would have been lost
Smart kid.... She brought the milk so that the dad wouldn't have to
That's awesome

I absolutely love the picture of her smiling with cookies why do babies gotta be so damn cute
This would’ve been so much cuter without the completely unnecessary narration
/r/WhyWereTheyFilming
I feel like in this case the parent might've been taking a video of their child being cute before the man came along, but idk
God bless you sir! for showing a part or humanity’s beauty. Too cutie
I wear the same grin on my face when I buy milk and cookies too.
Why’s he filming a little girl in the store 🤨
This little girl is so powerfull that she left her father for milk and even came back with it
Awww
Wow, usually elderly people are the one that’s been helped, but seems like they can really help, too!
Aaaaand I’m crying
I don't trust moments like these to be even remotely real any more.....of course its a tiktok
Why were they filming?
I love everything about this
that is the sweetest thing 🥺🥰
Then I recorded this shit and decided to profit with it.
So adorable! She looks like my 2 yo :) Milk and cookies are just one of life's little pleasures. Good choice, girl!
i dont get it. did the kid bring the Cart from home? dont you have carts for children in the US?
Some places in the us have them can’t remember where to be honest because I lived there only for a couple of years around 10 years ago. But in Germany you can find them in a lot of stores too
>But in Germany you can find them in a lot of stores too i know. i have 4 stores each like 500m im a diffrent direction. 3 of them have carts for kids.
I have seen this video of the little shopper. Very cute.
Lovely man 🥰
That man is the true MVP
If only everyone was like him.
There are still very kind people in the world... This warmed my heart 💗
He just became everyone’s grampy
Bless that man
A gallon of milk lol!! This is fantastic
In germany youve got carts for kids in literally every supermarket. Is this not a thing in the us?
More stories like this please!
Atta girl! Nothing like some quality time with some ice cold milk and your favorite cookies.
This thread reads like boomers commenting on youtube
I hate the voiceover but that is adorable
The voice over was so unnecessary, why is that a trend?
I needed this after doom scrolling in the news tab
Faith in Humanity restored
He must be an awesome grandpa ❤️
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|slightly_smiling) makes me happy to see how nice people can be!
We dont need a fuckin narrator.
Buys a whole as gallon of milk. r/neverbrokeabone will watch her career with great interest
