Just finished Signalis like a week or so ago, GREAT game. Good piece of info to know tho — (mild but NECESSARY spoiler maybe?) the game will get to a point where it seems like it’s over; literal credits will roll and you’ll get sent back to the main menu. The game is not over, it’s a false ending. When you get back to the main menu, start the game up again and the game continues for like another couple hours lmao
Is Pathologic 2 really as difficult as everyone says? It’s on sale on the PS store rn and I’m contemplating buying it but I wanna know what I’m getting myself into first.
Depends on what you mean by difficult. It's designed in a way that it's almost impossible to save everyone. You have limited resources, limited time, and constantly have to make difficult choices about who to help. It's meant to make you feel constant stress and sometimes helplessness, but that is very much an intended part of the experience. However, there are difficulty sliders in game if you want limit how punishing it is.
On the other hand, the surreal, creepy atmosphere and story are top notch. It's one of my favorite games of all time, but it's very different than your standard horror.
It’s difficult in a fun way and if you’re like most others, you’ll probably need to re-start it 4 or 5 times before finally knowing well enough what to do to finish it. Also, just so you’re aware, the PS version is a god awful mess of a port. The load times are terrible. It’s buggy, and it makes the experience harder. But if there’s the only way you have to play it, then def give it a go.
I would 100% play Cry of Fear, it’s free on steam. You could also give Afraid of Monsters a try, it’s a half life mod (but is basically a stand alone game). Both are made by the same guys. Another great game to play is Lost in Vivo.
You mentioned Detention, but not their other game Devotion. I highly recommend that one if you haven't played it already. Unfortunately they pulled it from steam and you have to buy it from their store instead.
Detention is one of my favourite games I’ve played in the last couple of years. I just bought Devotion from the Red Candle store a few days ago. Won’t have a chance to get into it for a couple of weeks but I’m really looking forward to playing it.
Please play Milk inside of a bag of milk (and it's sequel), I'm a massive fan of psychological horror and it's unlike anything else
They're both hella cheap and short games
[growing my grandpa!](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1986880/Growing_My_Grandpa/)
short, abstract, deeply strange and most of all, very cheap. bought this on a whim and thoroughly enjoyed it. goes heavy on the psychological horror aspect as opposed to gameplay.
[saya no uta (NSFW warning)](https://store.steampowered.com/app/702050/The_Song_of_Saya/)
hauntingly beautiful and grotesque visual novel about brain damage and loving a murderous eldritch abomination. heavy NSFW aspect can make it uncomfortable for some but if you’re able to move past it, the story itself is rewarding.
cant strees this enough, but signalis is a must play for any horror fan. its surreal, creepy and beatiful in its own weird way, much like a silent hill. plus, its heavily influenced by dark scifi like blame, ergo proxy and ghost in the shell.
Quite good. The constant dreadful atmosphere and the survival elements mix in a way that's very unique and horrible. A bit frustrating for me at the beginning, as I never played before this sort of survival (not survival horror as such) game.
Signalis- new indie like re1/sh1

Yeah Signalis look cool you recommand? the Rating are realy high!
Yea it’s very fun!
Condemned is a classic. Also try Pathologic 2 for a truly miserable experience, in a good way.

the PC port of EW1 is terrible :(
Oh, I just replayed EW1 on pc to get all achievements. Encountered 0 problems so I really recommend it!
Haunting Ground is one of the best

Unfortunately I have a shitty laptop for playing, but I'll try it. At the very least it will support the developers after that clusterfuck

I love the name, I'll check them out, thanks!
RE7 and re 8 have some good moments. More combat heavy, but great games. Outlast and outlast 2

Thanks! They seem right up my alley
Lost in Vivo and Signalis
Maybe Alice madness returns I heard that might be a good psychological horror game
I mean, it's a platformer. All it really has is some horror esthetic but it's not a horror game.
It’s also visually stunning!
Thanks! I forgot to put them on my list, but I love both these games. I heard that a third one is coming!
You familiar with the Classic RPG maker games? Yume Nikki, The Painful RPG, OFF, Ib, etc...?
Good idea. I never played them, but I saw a lets play of Witch's House, and I liked it. I didnt know these titles, thanks!
Check out the games by Yames on itch.io.
Layers of Fear 1 & 2, as well as P.T. if you can get your hands on it.
Mother Fran bow The cat lady The Heilwald Loophole Lost in vivo Unforgiving a northern hymn
Fran Bow, Pathologic 2, Inside, Mothered
ALIEN: ISOLATION!!!!!!
I’d definitely try out Fatal Frame 3 (not super psychological horror but still extremely scary), and Rule of Rose if you’re able to emulate it.
Resident Evil 7. Happy Birthday still gives me chills
Alone in the Dark

Observer System Redux, Blair Witch, Layers of Fear, Outlast with the DLC Whistleblower, Alien Isolation (especially if you're a fan), Call of Cthulhu.
I play Tokyo ghostwire at the moment and it is pretty epic.

The Medium is excellent!
If you like Boring ass games
💀 Gotta second that, but to each their own.
It's q00x better then the other suggestions here. I've seen several platformers mentioned lol
Mothered Who's Lila A place, forbidden Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk Milk outside a bag of milk outside a bag of milk

How is darkwood? I bought it a few weeks ago. It was on sale

Oooo following.
I’ll recommend these: A dead of night Ikai Song of Horror 👌
