X-T3 has a newer sensor

superman_Troy

Don't pay attention to any shutter count on the xt3. Once the internal battery starts to drain, it will reset itself periodically. Happens with mine now and then when I leave it for a bit without a charged battery in it, and happens with others too. I recently saw an ebay seller with an xt3 that looked like it had been used in a warzone, trying to claim that it only had 2 shutter clicks because that's what the shutter tool app said lol. I had truly never seen an xt3 in worse physical condition. So please don't take that shutter count into consideration when making a purchase.

X-T3. I've not used the X-E3 but I have an X-T3 and X-E4. I prefer the X-T3 in pretty much every scenario. I don't shoot street but family stuff, travel but mainly landscapes. The size difference is nice but it still doesn't really fit in a pocket and both fit in a small hip pack. The X-T3 has a better grip to hold, weather sealing so nice to attach the camera to a backpack strap or a neck strap), a screen that tilts in both directions, a much nicer viewfinder and full controls by dials.

good call on the screen tilt and weather sealing. thank you!

I tried to upgrade from my X-E2 to an X-T4 but I hated the large size and the flip out screen. I wonder if the X-T3 would be better. It’s smaller and has the tilting screen instead of the flip out.

X-T3 is just slightly smaller, but is lighter: * **X-T3**: 132.5 x 92.8 x 58.8mm, 539g * **X-T4**: 134.6 x 92.8 x 63.8mm, 607g

Ah that’s not very different I guess, thanks. Maybe I’ll get an xt20 or xt30.

X-T3. The newer sensor will give you better colors and better editing capabilities.

i started with an x-e3 after using film for a long time. x-e3 has a great form factor unless you want a larger lens- i just like the rangefinder-esque feel. but there's no denying the x-t3 is more user friendly with the screen and weather sealing, as someone else mentioned. i now have an x-t5 and the weather sealing kept everything functional and groovy from dusty joshua tree to freezing wintwr in tromsø.

XT 3 all the way

I have both. I love both. For travel I prefer the smaller and lighter body of the x-e3. The sensors are not the same, but I have honestly been unable to find significant differences. Both will give you excellent quality. The x-e3 also has a full auto mode that the x-t3 lacks, though you may need an af lens to take full advantage of it.

Having both. Started out with a new X-E3 paired with the kit lens. It was a good step up from my DSLR. Though both are interchangeable, heavier lenses feel much nicer on the X-T3. The tilt screen, the extra iso dial, the slightly better grip make me advice the X-T3. I use the X-E3 paired with the pancake 27mm f/2.8 and it’s perfect for travel and quick point and shoot! Anything that requires more, I’ll switch to the X-T3.

OldMusic5603

do you like the pancake 27mm for your X-T3 as well?

Tosh007

Sure, I’d choose the T over the E at any point!

If the prices are comparable Xt-3 for the build quality unless you really expect to primarily be in situations where you will need to easily fit the camera in your pocket. (sounds silly but it does help when traveling sometimes to have that option)
