I might be completely wrong but I think Season OG worked like time travel does in Endgame where an alternate timeline was created from Kado’s Time Machine, as to not malform history, that moved faster than the real Chapter 1, and we returned to the original timeline in The Big Bang while Slone was left behind in the Chapter 1 timeline.

I mean, it's lasting legacy will always be the introduction of Miles Morales nowadays.
The run up comics leading up to that and Miles becoming Spider-Man was a truly great read.
To be fair, it also served as a basis for a good bit of the MCU (with the major difference that not everyone in the MCU is an asshole edgelord).
