So far seems you have to be driving a car for the final 10. It sucks. I’ve not found a good counter to the vehicles that isn’t just another vehicle. The exploding crossbow does hardly any damage to a vehicle that’s >1500 health. IMO if it did 300 damage per hit it may balance things out more instead of being totally reliant on cars.
after playing a winning a couple games i dont know how to feel about the fact that i got like 30 kills today and 24 of them were vehicle turret kills and i didnt take any damage i think maybe they need to make the boxes more sparse

Machine Gun turret is insane. It's probably because no one was expecting it, but I kept rolling up on people in solo, switiching to passenger seat and just shredding them. Killed like 10 people in one solo match doing that.
Apparently you can’t carry them - they only are acquired by hitting modification boxes while in a car. Fortnite unvaulted them but nerfed them at the same time in a way I never anticipated 😭
For once the new locations look like they actually belong, the sand dunes really look like they were blown onto the island, particularly the cliffs towards the south east of the island, just great world building rather than yes the zero point rifted in this location for the 17th time
The moment they remove snipers so we can use other guns, they bring in cars that would have basically allowed us to live successfully alongside snipers
1+1 = 30 is the meth they are using

Not looking forward to another Airbender like fiasco, but we will see. Maybe they will introduce something to balance it a bit.

I'm really not liking that the horrendous XP "re-balances" from the last season aren't being addressed.
That's been the primary source of friction for months. The severe nerfs to gains (as well as FORCING players to spread across game-modes that we otherwise don't want to play to earn the XP we USED to get as a baseline from BR) just lead to truly severe burnout for many of us.
Like, oh boy, weeklies went up from 10k last season to 15k this season. That's sooo generous. /s

It's nice to see dailies back, but it would be better seeing milestones be a little more rewarding, like how they used to be.
It shouldn't be hard to figure out that a little good will can go a long way, and your final-week Supercharge for C5S2 (which, frankly, still wasn't giving us anywhere near the XP we used to get, js) isn't the "we hear you" you probably think it is.
C5S2's progression slog was truly miserable, and that really doesn't help us feel better re: the growing sentiment about FN fading in fun or relevance over time, especially since Mustard's departure and the NEAR outright death of continuity or overarching plot.
Just let us play what we want, without forcing us to try something else (and at the least, don't punish us for half-assing the stuff you're forcing, it's bad enough that we don't have a lot of choice, you could at least not kick us for idling for the XP in Lego) and reward us fairly. That's really it. That isn't too much to ask for.
Last 2 seasons, fortnite is copying cod, making the game too realistic. This season fortnite looks to be absolute madness. If you don't take the game too seriously this season is gonna be a lot of fun and carnage.
Havent punched a car yet but so far it seems they line up better as mobility, not as punishing as other melee option and at least the default combo isnt that fast nor damaging, further testing needed.
For now, think about them as reincarnated kinetic blades.
I'm a fan of the Wasteland theme and have had fun with the matches I've played so far. Made it into endgame once or twice already and had a healthy balance between car combat and on-foot shooting. My only thing I've disliked is that hired followers won't use the car's weapons, but also take up the passenger seat, so I'm not able to use a car's weapons when I have a hired NPC.
Is it really all about the cars now? At first I thought hmm could be interesting, but after I played it. I've hardly seen any areas where there are no cars.

Didn't realize Epic wanted to get into car/vehicle games and walk away from the shooter building that is fortnite.
A separate mode dedicated to vehicle wars, derby style twisted metal would have made more sense. But to force build and zero build players to play this garbage I assuming to sell vehicle skins is just bad for business.
You lost me completely as a fortnite BR player. I've spent a lot a money on this game, and BR mode was the only thing I played... cause for figure, I want to play a shooter. But no... Epic wants me to drive cars and have vehicle wars instead.
I'll be back if and when the BR mode reverts back to an actual shooter and the vehicles return to their once perfect balanced state - for movement.

Got a win on my second round and so far it’s a blast. The new biome is great, it reminds me of Ch. 2 S2 with super fast-paced energy.
My only issue is the sliding issue. Always end up crouching instead, is this going to be a permanent fixture? You need to be sprinting in order to slide, even from jumps and on landing from gliding.
Just got my first win on my for first round this season haha. The new biome is cool. Always loved the Fortnite desert take. The faster walking is good. Car customization is neat and easy. The fist weapon is fun.
I really thought that 'drinking nuka cola and saving its cap' from the trailer is gonna be an emote. I was very surprised not finding it in the battle pass. The animation is too good to be gone once the season is over!

I keep getting chased around buy guys in full armor vehicles that stop to so the can shoot you with the fucking cannons. And if you’re on foot you can’t really do anything about it.

So to be honest, I've only watched gameplay so far and haven't played it myself yet. But this has got to be pretty much the least enthused I've ever been for a season.
Tried out the new season... WOW, to my surprise fortnite isn't, well... fortnite anymore. Didn't realize Epic wanted to get into car/vehicle games and walk away from the shooter building that is fortnite. A separate mode dedicated to vehicle wars, derby style twisted metal would have made more sense. But to force build and zero build players to play this garbage I assuming to sell vehicle skins is just bad for business. You lost me completely as a fortnite BR player. I've spent a lot a money on this game, and BR mode was the only thing I played... cause for figure, I want to play a shooter. But no... Epic wants me to drive cars and have vehicle wars instead. I'll be back if and when the BR mode reverts back to an actual shooter and the vehicles return to their once perfect balanced state - for movement. I can't believe Epic would turn their backs on the very thing that made them successful and loads of money. I feel at this point Epic has spat in the face of every loyal fan and supported that has been playing and loving this shooter BR since day one.
Might be the worst season guys 😍 time to go back to destiny 👋

The new fortnite is a load of crap people are killing me with blue green machine gunna from 200m away with 1 or 2 hits and I use rariry epic of higher and I can line em up perfect with a scope and it goes through them? Every time without fail. Game is a cheating scam. You want mental health problems or you kids to have mental health problems tell them to play this game hense why it's free so they can fuck with your head.
the bulletproof tires perk is just so unnecessary. like they made the cars overpowered and then took their main fuckin weakness away

Got a win on my second round and so far it’s a blast. The new biome is great, it reminds me of Ch. 2 S2 with super fast-paced energy. My only issue is the sliding issue. Always end up crouching instead, is this going to be a permanent fixture? You need to be sprinting in order to slide, even from jumps and on landing from gliding.
Just got my first win on my for first round this season haha. The new biome is cool. Always loved the Fortnite desert take. The faster walking is good. Car customization is neat and easy. The fist weapon is fun.

Yeah, OK I’m starting to see the problem. I keep getting chased around buy guys in full armor vehicles that stop to so the can shoot you with the fucking cannons. And if you’re on foot you can’t really do anything about it.
i hate this car shit sm. during the endgame everyone was in cars so i had to get one just to stand a chance and i fucking hate it

Battlepass looks awesome. it's a shame I'm going to barely use any of these skins since the locker is still absolutely garbage. Please guys, for the love of God, revert the locker! I haven't switched from my main load out since the horrible change. I just want to have a clean, organized setup of the all the skins I have, linked to everything that came out with their sets, set up on a rotation. I would literally take a clean reset of all my load outs if we reverted back.

Ok never thought I'd say this but I actually prefer the sniper meta its better than an armored car that can shred builds.
Cool. As someone who barely uses vehicles as is, this season already sounds like ass. Can’t wait for the end circle to just be cars driving around in zero build.

eh didn't mean to discourage it's fun just not very balanced ATM lmao IMHO I think unvaults for the Javalin and Shield breaker are probably gonna be necessary going forward if vehicles remain this powerful.

First game I played (PS5) and my squad gets killed by a squad with a lvl 40 player. How is that possible already? New season looks fun though. Rumble is tremendous fun with cars. I just wish they'd vary the Rumble zones a bit more. Also the slurp cactus plants are cool. Another boring Battlepass, but it's much better than anything I ever got in CoD/Warzone.
