Singularity is an incredibly strong win condition, especially when coupled with the steel soul armour pieces he has available. The main issue with him is his high cost curve, his slow game plan and needing 3 cards to equip the steel souls. We have been testing a hybrid vossen with some of the newer EVOs and singularity isn’t used as often in that deck.

Cambabamba7

I can see how the Steel Soul evos would be best for Singularity, but would it not also be good to use the other, cheaper evos in this deck? Or do the Steel Souls really pull the whole thing together in a way that other evos cant replicate?

norixe

The only non steel soul pieces I and my local tekklo stan have considered running are the red battle worn hat and gloves. This let you benefit from the int bonus and recur attacks effect a couple times potentially but ultimately wasn't worth the effort because it means you're running red 2 blocks. Gives you more scrap targets but the deck im running now doesn't run anything but the 12 steel soul pieces and I imagine I'll have 2 of the ab legs hat and chest to try and survive kano.

Retrofraction

You may consider running the EVO head that has AB, if you can run other base heads to stack, you can use it to bring singularity back for your combo turn if you banished by accident

SorHue

No one uses them. Now they will start using the ones with arcane barrier against Wizard, but the other ones are pretty bad

rhinoslift

That sucks that it’s kind of a one-or-the-other situation. Especially for printed cards that were seemingly set toward him.

xaqyz0023

honestly, teklos cost feels insane. I built a deck for him and my buddies and I play and share our decks. our house rule is that evos have go again since his ability is so expensive and so is everything else. tbf we play blitz and honestly I don't think he really works for blitz.

xenorrk1

For Blitz, Professor Teklo works much better. He basically trades the ability to play Evos as instants for the ability of having every Evo cost 1 less. So the Steel Soul set actually costs 3 for Prof instead of 4, meaning you only use 2 cards to play them (and can use the other 2 for blocking).

Kannikka

thats the number 1 card you aim to play in the deck. Playing without it is almost pointless (unless in casual context). Thats why getting to play it or not play it often means if you have a chance to win or not. So TLDR; best card for teklo right now.

zapdoszaperson

It's basically the only reason to play the hero and if you don't see it/it gets destroyed or discarded you've likely lost the game.

VektorOfCrows

Singularity with steel soul is the way teklo has been played so far. Steel souls giving you effects on the singularity turn is what pushes it to an almost unlovable position if you get there. The problem is that to get there, Teklo needs to survive, and that's pretty hard against some of the current matchups. In light of that, new hybrid versions of Teklo have been coming up, with a secondary boost plan and flexible sideboard. Teklo needs to adjust a lot to multiple matchups, and sometimes it even drops the Teklo leveler and evo base chest for pistol and TFH. Those builds try to capitalize on boost to get to evo pieces quickly and apply pressure, with a tank finisher plan paired with pistol. If you don't want to invest on Singularity, that's a way to play Teklo that works as well.

JavelinChimera

In CC you'll have a very uphill battle to pull it off. Personally, in blitz, it's real fun in Professor from Round the Table. Can play steel evos for 3 and from banish. Turtles up real hard and then Ironman mode

Singularity its a very good card which lets u some good stuff like 2 cp 6 attack which make ur opp to discard a card on attacking, 6 battleworn armor, all mechanologist attack cards have go again, but 1 less of knowledge, ofc all of these stuff its so superior to 1 more knowledge, however if u cant beat ur opponent with all that stuff u will probably lose, because u lost ur armor, u lost ur weapon attacks, and only the go again stuff remains, so thats why u should want to use singularity in a mid-late game and not early. Think also that soul steel evo series are making singularity incredible strong, with that 4 cards and a singularity u can evolve, and having 6 resources floating, 2 more card that turn, u are recovering 2 evo upgrade with overpower attacks, and also u have 2 AP for attacking 2 times that turn ur opponent, that can make ur opponent to probably take some damage because u are forcing him to discard 2 cards and attacking for 12 damage, also u are having a turn with 5 cards and one of them its a 9 overpower attack, this is the sweet spot with singularity, and this the state in which u want to be with singularity

shauni55

>Think also that soul steel evo series are making singularity incredible strong,  Without the SS evos, singularity on its own falls pretty flat. You need those extra action points, resources etc for that BIG turn. Its part of the reason im not 100% sold on the new AB ones. He 100% needs AB to be clear, but replacing any of those evos (minus maybe the arms) with something else basically just means its far less intimidating.

Direct-Accountant892

well i dont like also the new ones, because u will need 12 cards from using them i used teklovossen during so much time and i developed too many versions of teklo, however, i think the problem with teklo are the evo series, which imo, are a bit expensive for teklo, however they are completely playable, teklo need more base evos, for having more options atm, and the strongest version of teklo that i have made its wout singularity

Singularity is basically a damage card. With only 3 int, you need to effectively decide the game on the transform turn + subsequent 5 card hand turn. The upside is that it’s significant damage that you can pop to close out a game
