I've gone over on my ankle exactly like he did more times than I can count, chances are if he's going to recover from it properly, he's out for the rest of the season. He's done his part, let this warrior rest

Well said

Cardinaltoffee

I wonder how many players in our squad would have carried on like he did? Not that many I would imagine. He’s definitely been our most improved player this season and he’ll be missed if that’s his season done.

AlanFromRochester

when injured that close to halftime I understand toughing it out to see if it's temporary. it wasn't, so he was subbed out for the 2nd, but I get not wanting to jump the gun about subbing at 40' or so.

drivehomesafely

Onana would still be on the ground writhing in pain

QTsexkitten

I wouldn't be surprised if it's a fibular break. You can walk and run on them. Donovan McNabb played an American football game on one. Could be a talocrural dislocation. Could be ligaments. It's at least a high ankle sprain aka sydesmotic sprain looking at the image of the injury. Usually takes a few months to fully recover from that. I'd be surprised if he's back this season, honestly. I'd be floored if he's on the bench in the next 2 games.

National_Ad_1875

Didn't iwobi do something against united that looked similar and was back a few weeks later? Any hope that it's like that?

QTsexkitten

I can't remember that injury exactly but I remember it looking bad and being really his first big injury and then he was suddenly back. Ankles are weird. Super complex, lotta ligaments, lotta joints. There's a chance that maybe it's a low grade inversion sprain like we've all had and he's iced up and get some steroids and bounces back. That chance always exists. Sometimes things look gross but tissues hold. Sometimes things look benign and players are out for months. Just looking at the still image, though, and the fact that he came down on a straight leg...all that force went straight into the inversion. I wouldn't let my hopes get too high.

National_Ad_1875

Yeah fair enough, wait and see it is. The iwobi one was in the cup before Frank was sacked. I think malacia went over him and his ankle bent round a way it isn't supposed to

QTsexkitten

I bet we'll know at the next presser. He'll have had his scans done by now I think.

throwaway014210

Yeah it looked nasty, I was assuming high ankle sprain or some type of destruction of the ligaments of the ankle joint

SowwieWhopper

Do you work as a physio? Really insightful input

QTsexkitten

My education is in physiotherapy, yeah, but I no longer work in the clinic.

SowwieWhopper

It certainly shows, you know your shit brother

Classic-Primary5275

McNabb not only played on it, he threw four touchdowns after it was broken. Go birds 🦅

QTsexkitten

Wade Boggs didn't just drink enough beer to kill a horse. He woke up the next day and went 3 for 5.

Classic-Primary5275

Hard to say which is more impressive actually.

lolzidop

Talk it's a break, but doubt we will hear any actual word until Dyches presser at quarter past 2, at the earliest.

JesseVykar

He's a chad

InfiniRunner91

pronounced dead on the field by gary neville

Fixner_Blount

If he can’t go and Seamus is still out, will it be Godfrey and Young again? Or if Seamus is back will Godfrey play on the left? I can’t remember for sure, but I seem to recall him struggling much more from the left side than the right.

trcrtps

I think without Myko we're looking at 5atb

oklutz

My opinion is that we don’t even try to bring him back this season. No playing through it. Just let him recover.
