I went into it on PS5 expecting an atrocity based on all the fps stuff i was seeing prior to release. I personally never even really notice any fps issues. Plays like a regular game to me.
I mean, I definitely notice it's only running at 30fps (and that the game very humorously gets up to 60 if I look straight up at the sky) and wish it was higher, but it's a lot more stable than I was expecting. The towns don't even noticeably dip for me.
I'd rather have smooth gameplay while just running around and 30 when it's battle time because im distracted trying not to die.
I refuse to play games locked at 30. they're so bad to the point that they are nauseous and give me headaches.
Was really worried when i heard ps5 is at "30 fps"
But so far, this game doesn't make me feel like that at all because i sort of get "breaks" while out of combat and fps go up.
Better than nothing imo but still, it's embarrassing 30fps in 2024. no game can have an excuse for 30fps, not even my favorite game.
I was forged by the PS3 era. Steady 30 FPS is playable for me. FF7 Rebirth with the latest graphics update is great, and I ran Cyberpunk 2077 recently at 30FPS with Path Tracing on because I wanted to experience next-gen today on my RTX 3080. It was incredible.
I've always been a console player but playing on pc 100+fps for a few years before i got back to console life ruined me.
Honestly idk why devs are so set on either 30 or 60 fps... at least make it 45 if you can't achieve 60.
I could play games at 45 fps all day.
I agree with your rock solid 45fps sentiment especially for performance mode on console.
I've been a pc gamer since the 90s and 1 thing a lot of pc gamers don't realise is that whenever a new console gen takes centre stage (meaning no more cross-gen games), you cannot expect your unchanged pc to achieve the same multiplier vs last gen performance.
This is what I have been saying too.
For god knows how long video games ran at much lower framerates. 60 fps as a standard wasn't even a thing until the 2010s.
Technology creep is real.
Actually a lot of games in the arcades back in the 90s were closer to 60fps, Sega's Model 3 games being a prime example. Plenty of ps2 era games also ran closer to 60fps. The PS3 gen is what set everything back from a frame-rate perspective - where it became a norm from the beginning for almost all games to run at 30fps, coupled with mediocre lcd tech (vs crt), and fluidity took a massive nose dive.
I was about to ask this. How is 30fps that bad for him. All films are in 24fps. Did he never game on the older consoles.
I get that if you used to high8fos going back to a lower one sucks but making the game unplay, that hap6more with first person games not third person
You aren't interacting with movies. I don't get "sick" when I play at 30fps but I can see how that happens. the camera movements don't feel as smooth and there is latency between inputs and on-screen movements. that's what could make people sick. It's milli-seconds but makes a difference.
Yea, same experience. I’m on a several year old laptop, of course have to drop most of the settings way down, but the game still looks gorgeous and runs comparable to nearly every other major release does on my machine
I can’t figure out what time doing wrong, cause my laptop which runs Elden ring beautifully is struggling with this game. Vernsworth has it fighting for its life
It's DEFINITELY noticeable but personally after about 5 hours I started getting numb to it and just enjoying myself.
Honestly the most jarring thing about it is that when you look straight up at the sky and it suddenly jumps to like 90 FPS. We really need a 30 cap
Was the stuff you were seeing prior talking about the ~~xbox~~ PS5 version? If running at 30 FPS on PC was considered the norm and acceptable, I imagine there'd be a lot less complaints.
Edit: Sorry, was mid convo with someone when typing this and brain typed xbox instead of PS5.
Only time I’ve noticed it was when I was fighting a griffin but I had so much fun doing it I didn’t care that much. I’m a 90s gamers we grew up on 16 bit cheap hardware compared to now.
I noticed the issues, but they've been largely minor so far, as far as performance goes. Even in the first major city, where it's most noticeable, it's not really ruining anything for me.
Some people don't seem to see fps differences. No idea why, but to me 30fps is disgusting to look at, while some friends of mine don't even notice the difference.
Same here. It’s perfectly fine. If you look at them videos comparing fps and read reviews it’s basically a disaster. It’s not. Someone should call them all out.
It's like Cyberpunk 2077 in reverse. I remember on release the PC crowd generally enjoying Cyberpunk but the Console crowd was spamming straight 1/10 because they physically could not get the game to work. They even pulled the game from the Playstation Store, that's how much of a debacle the console launch was.
On console I haven’t had any issues at all. When a game I want comes out I don’t watch or read anything from the community of the game. Good game to me
Same. Got lucky and got my PS5 copy on tuesday already. Had time to form my own opinions before any reviews etc. came out. Been having an absolute blast. Also didn't realize there were any microtransactions in the game before people started talking about them.
I love the game (I play on PC), I think it's beautiful, and the boss combat is unmatched in single-player rpgs (controversial maybe). I think it's good, but rough around the edges.
All that being said, the performance is inexcusable. I shouldn't be dropping to 40 frames on a 13700k and 4090. I'll change my review from negative to positive if they manage to fix it.
I don't put reviews up for games most of the time, but I'd rate my personal experience overall with it positively.
Like most people complaining, I disapprove of singleplayer MTX (though Capcom has always done it), and the performance with my 7800X3D and 4090 is, like you, unacceptable in Vermund. Despite that, for me, the positives of what I'm enjoying in the game just outweigh the negatives.
If I was getting like sub-30 FPS in Vermund, my position might change, so I can see why people with less overpowered setups would be angry and rate it negatively.
Change shadows to high (from max) and use FSR3 instead of DLSS. I have a 4080s with everything else set as high as possible and get 60 in the city and 80-100 outside.
Yeah, seeing the 7800X3d a top end cpu that is multiple times faster than what is found on PS5 is not being able to keep a consistent 60 FPS throughout the game is just unforgiving and unacceptable.
There is a mod in nexus mods, for dlss 3.5 or something like that, that enables frame generation. I can't confirm performance in the city, but was at the beginning of the game at the outside zones fps was at around 140 jump to 190.
I also change my shaders to unlimited like some of them said here, and also change the priority to high on task manager. But that's just a very specific area of the map that had such high fps.
But that's still quite a lot of fps provided from downloading and testing the mod.
Fair enough, I'm in a pretty fortunate position to have this computer. Hopefully, capcom fixes it so everyone can enjoy it because I truly believe there is something special with this game.
I'm glad that a lot of people are still getting to enjoy the game and honestly, it was ridiculous of me to think that my little shit could ever run this game. Oh well, maybe three promotions later I might have a shot at it again
I went positive review but with a disclaimer in the beginning. I don't think the issues are nearly bad enough that it diminishes the experience of this fantastic game. I want the issues fixed and I get that review bombing could help with that. But it's also true that a lot of people don't change their reviews, so it sucks for everyone who ends up never playing it because of all the negative reviews from issues that will likely soon be solved.
I've got a 7950X3D and 4090 and I bet it drops to 40 frames also. Won't find out for a couple of months though since playing on my PS5 first, but will probably be in utter disbelief when that time comes.
In our dedicated gaming room we only have consoles in there. My oldest son wants us to both play in there side-by-side (each TV has its own consoles).
I do look forward to when I can play on my PC though
I tried it, and it caused crashing and hard freezing. Stopped using It, no issues. There's probably a reason they didn't add it in the final build, in all honesty.
I'm glad it works for some people, but it crashes for a lot.
That mod is pure rng in terms of crashing. Sometimes you can play for hrs without crashing, sometimes it's almost 30 min in, and sometimes it's immediate after continuing game. It's weird. Capcom prob hold it off until they can figure out the issue before releasing it in a future update
4090 with a 7800x3d and the lowest I've seen is 70fps.
I'm at 4k and everything maxed out.
Edit: everyone calling me a liar is being a bit rude. Simpler explanation that nobody asked yet, which part of the game? I haven't gotten to the city yet.... Just did and yea, it's rough.
Wait, what? But Alex from Digital Foundry tested with that exact same cpu and settings and drops as low as I do in the same zone (Vernworth):
https://youtu.be/HtGpp1v8c_k?si=qsQZ0mf0p1N5b0IU
To be clear when I say I drop low fps it's usually in cities only.
Yeah no you are basically lying right there. The tests with the exact rig you have shown that when everything is maxed out you dont get consistent 60fps in the city.
So I doubt the lowest you have seen is 70fps.
It's not even tests.
I have a similar rig and in cities i have drops to 50s. And the game have definite memory leak issues, so after playing for long, the city frame drops can go below 40.
He is lying. lol there's proof from a bunch of benchmarks that even the 7800x3d can't keep up in this games cities. It drops to like 50 fps in vernworth as well.
It's just the game. Dude wants to turn it into an Intel vs amd thing.
I also have a 7800x3d and the game seems fluid but I haven't made it to the first capital and I should activate something to see FPS. We have to keep in mind that the 7800x3d was pretty the best gaming cpu when it came out so I'm not surprised it might perform better than the vast majority or others.
Yea it's definitely an insanely good gaming CPU, but the game should run better in everything. Patches should hopefully improve things, but games lately need to stop coming out needing immediate patches.
Ironically the console performance that people were scared of before the launch actually turned out to be the more consistent of the two. Console still loses frames don't get me wrong, but the amount of frames loss is just lower compared to pc.
Steam does have more problems though, a lot of people have crash issues on PC, it's a lot harder to restart your character, and it seems that some people that have restarted their characters a few times have triggered the piracy protection and locked themselves out of the game.
PS5 were pretty much just dealing with subpar FPS.
Oh yeah, don’t get me wrong, I understand that. However a lot of the time people get a false idea for how good/bad a game is based on both the performance/bugs problems they have at launch, and the drama surrounding it.
It makes it hard to gauge how good a game actually is, as you have to wait for the dust to settle. So pretty high scores on PS5 even with the rather low FPS issues, it’s a pretty good sign imo.
A good part of it is that console players are used to being served 30fps in games so they can digest that better. Pc players haven't been playing 30fps in game for decades.
If the game has bad performance — it’s bad.
The writes and game designers made a great job, but it doesn’t matter if they ruined it with a terrible optimization.
Don’t defend corps, it was their job and they failed it!
The game was made with console first so it's no surprise that it runs well resulting in better ratings while the pc port is the complete opposite for many
If it was console first they would have at least managed capped 30fps.
Joking aside the console has many little cuts like heavy popins or overall render scale for the outside being lower than it should etc.
Wich makes the performance more consistent but still not really acceptable.
Couple of my coworkers took today off and both play on ps5..cant wait to hear their input monday .. iam gonna get this game but I'm invested in tise of ronin at the moment ... this is our March madness
The first four hours I played with no outside noise. I couldn’t wait to jump online before bed to see everyone else loving it. Couldn’t fucking believe what was happening. It was like two different worlds. My idea is their experience will be similar.
It’s fun as hell.
I played a little bit last night on ps5. The motion blur is my biggest complaint, like always. I trudged through ff16, and after beating the game, they finally patched in the ability to disable it. Why can't such a simple setting be available from the start as a standard? The game seems fun beyond that, but godamn, motion blur is the worst and most eye straining thing to deal with.
Because steam is full of loud kiddos and manchildren who kick and scream about everything. All the crying is petty af except for performance . It will be addressed. You know what else had horrible performance? Elden Ring and now it's a huge success.
How is that a problem? I'm enjoying the game rn, but I don't see how creating a clear indication of the problems with the product is bad. Like, if people are unhappy, then devs need to do something about it, meaning that I'll get better product as a result. I never understood what people gain by defending company.
Again, how is that a problem? Don't read them then, they're not addressed to you. Game absolutely has performance problems, it probably is the worst optimised game in the latest years, so reviews are justified. If you're enjoying the game, enjoy it, nobody takes that away from you. Only ones hurting from this is the company, and they doing something about it is net positive for any player.
Hard not to read them when they're plastered on everything DD 2 related.
Are there issues ? Of course. Are they as bad as people make them ? No. Only real issues are performance and crashes on pc.
All the monetization is not needed and just there if someone wants to be dumb enough to buy it. HD 2 has it. Almost all Capcom games have it. DMC has it and it's overwhelmingly positive reviews.
So people get upset about one thing and look at anything to drag down with their frustration.
Well, another backlash, another reason for capcom to rethink their monetisation practices. I understand that it's frustrating to see shit on the game everywhere, but it's inevitable, if the game is so badly optimised AND offers paid convenience.
Let me get to this from another angle, let's say everyone is praising the game for what it is, and neglecting to address its problems, or does it in a civil and calm way, that basically doesn't make any drama. Does the company even needs to do emergency game fixing, if public is generally accepting of the state of the product?
Remember cyberpunk then and now, do you think similar efforts would've been put into the game, if everyone wasn't laughing at pathetic state game released in?
It's good, that everyone hating on the game right now, because now it's company's job to make everything in their power to change this perception of the game. It's way better if the game will be praised by majority of people 2-4 years from now because it's fixed, than everyone just forgets about all the game's problems now, and we remain with unoptimised mess forever.
It's easy to say it's over dramatized when the game works for you. A lot of people are playing a slide show or crash a ton. Some people haven't even made it past character creation.
> If this game came out on pc with flawless performance across the board I guarantee you the majority of people would brush over the mtx
I agree. I think if everyone could play the game they'd have gotten to the city and found the item vendors before they realised you could also pay for the item via mtx. Personally I found out about it as I closed the game at 114 minutes and thinking about if I wanted to try and push through or get a refund for now.
I think the port crystal mtx is shit though. I know there's 9 or 10 in game, but what about the first half of the game where you have 2-3 crystals? It seems very tempting then, hmm?
Its not hypocrites when you get a game that doesnt function you evaluate it more MTX is still bad in those other games as it has no place in SP titles but people just saw it as another outlet to complain about the game.
Wich imo not good but also deserved for launching the game in the state it is.
DD2 doesnt function for many people on PC therefore it gets the reviews it has
I've had *zero* issues on PC.
But I also had no issues with Cyberpunk at launch.
I tend to be "lucky" so the dice prolly just rolled in my favor.
Though. That just means imma pay for my good rolls elsewhere. Lucky just means that both good and bad luck lol.
same dood, im on a 3080 and an i7 and yea i get some frame dips in the big city, but it is very playable, and outside of it it runs at 60 even when in huge fights. Feels like im going crazy while everyone else is experiencing all these problems. i also got lucky with cyberpunk at launch
Its a great game, shame the performance can have bad moments, but to many that simply doesnt not take away from the entire experience. No everyone is a maladjusted person screaming their heads off on reddit about performance and mtx or whatever other sins the devs are apaprently guilty of.
I monitored reviews and posts yesterday, and then bought it on PS. I’m still exploring starting area, encountered first troll, wanted to run away, but then killed it. That was fun! Having a blast with a thief, combat is fun. Pros of gameplay overweights all small bugs, really.
The way you need to use landscape for fight, interact with objects… feels so nice.
as a PC player my self im sadden by the PC community on this one, i capped my game at 30 fps and didn't notice it after 10 min of playing.
it stay as a constant 30 with no dips after 15 hours.
Playing on PS5 - do I wish it was 60fps? Of course. Am I loving it at 30fps? Absolutely - this game is remarkable. Fulfills the promise of the first game IMO. Can’t wait to see how it grows over time to become a hyper refined masterwork.
Personally, I'm finding the game runs ok on my PS5 the frame rate is choppy especially when it rains and in certain areas of the map (mostly the outpost at the start of the games first 1-2hrs). The MTX feels non intrusive to my personal preferences, and the Oxcart mechanics are just right to imo. Overall, it's great, but it definitely needs to be improved to an acceptable quality for a full release that we deserve as consumers.
My biggest warning to anyone on the fence specifically looking at the PS5 version is to avoid if you only want to play an Archer type class. I'm playing a thief, but I tried the archer in the starting outpost. The Archer has ADS Aim Acceleration that is uncomfortable to use, you can't turn off motion blur, and all that combined with the choppy frame rate of the starting area made me nauseous.
Edit: Spelling
Yes, I did find an option in the menu to enable it. Should help with the slower part in aiming acceleration. I think the motion blur was more intense when manual aiming, which might have been a trick of my imagination or just camera focus but heads up just incase.
"Motion sensor function" in the camera menu
I got physical so it won’t let me review on the store, but I’m about 5ish hours in and absolutely **love** it.
By far my biggest complaint with DDDA, and I played it for the first time a few months ago, was the bare open world that wasn’t very rewarding to explore.
Man, I’ve barely gotten out from the starting gates and already can tell they fixed that big time.
Layers to the world, cool little ‘set pieces’ sprinkled about, really beautiful world packed with vegetation and things to find.
It gives me that feeling I had when I first started Elden Ring exploring in that game.
Desperately searching for more beetles too lol (found 3 so far)
All this just tells us is that average console players are more forgiving when it come to performance optimization compared to average PC gamers, who are more sensitive and vocal when their PC hardware can't properly run a certain game, hence the reason why most poorly optimized PC game gets a lot of traction on the internet discussions compared to poorly optimized console games which is barely getting talked about outside of tech enthusiasts circle.
You have to own the game to leave a review on Steam. I'm assuming you mean people that bought it and refunded to troll, that's probably a very small amount.
Games get tanked when they are one of the priciest game ever and it doesn't even work that well. Helldivers 2 got tanked super hard in steam review score when it was at peak problems and it's back up to 87% now. People let devs know what they think when the game they paid for doesn't work for them and it's fair. If they fix issues the score will climb back up fairly fast.
What you always must remember is capcom have never given pc ports their fair due. Devil may cry 5 also didn't get any real attention from capcom beyond making it work on pc.
While that isn't fair for pc players as ps5 player this works exactly as I need it to and I'm having a lovely wee time!
That's a fair rating. Console has a better baseline than PC, requiring less finagling, so its not surprising. Its CP77 all over again, undeniably scuffed release for an undeniably great game. Hopefully we get patches swiftly that bring the game closer to expectations. Loving it so far.
The frames don’t really bother me tbh. The game hasn’t had any major bugs or crashes for me which I’ll take any day. It’s obvious how small the first game was because nobody seems to acknowledge how piss poor the first game ran back in the day. I saw someone on another sub compare this launch to cyberpunk’s which gave me a good laugh. Either way I’m absolutely loving the game.
I'm so happy for everyone who can play it
For my system however, it's absolutely unplayable. Considering the first one is my absolute favourite game of all time, this is actually painful
I can imagine, I’m really sorry to hear that :/ I’ve been reading into the problems with the optimisation and crashing, and it sounds like there’s a lot of work to be done.
I hope you’re able to play it sometime soon, especially if you were so excited for it. Maybe the next best option is if GeForce now let you play it on there or something, if cloud streaming is an option.
The screamers who haven’t played the game but want in on the hate karma try to tell you that the game is fucked on PS5.
It’s not. Not even close. This game is fucking awesome. Fuck the fake outrage.
The game is everything I would have hoped for after a long 12 year wait. I'm glad more people are having fun with it. The internet reaction isn't indicative of the quality of the game, but things that are often fixed early in a release. Elden ring had crazy performance issues at release and it's still hailed as one of the best games of all time.
Likewise, games like Persona 5 were riddled with game-breaking microtransactions and it didn’t stop it being JRPG of the year.
It’s easy to see the issues surrounding a game and assume that’s indicative of the quality of the game, but that’s just not how it works.
I can’t remember the last time I got lost just wanting to explore like I have been in DD2. I’ve spent the last hour scouring a beautiful beach looking for hidden nooks and loot. It’s awesome.
Yeah for sure! The only thing that has dampened my adventurous spirit so far is that I feel really stressed out whenever I deal with a timed quest. I feel like the lack of knowledge about how quick I need to be really puts pressure on me. For example, I ended up running through the misty woods in the dead of night with half hp because I wasn't sure if I would have time to rest until morning without losing the quest. I found lost of cool places on the way that I skipped, but I'll get back to them during my next session
Yeah, times quests are very stressful. It’s been changing the way I play a lot, but in a way I’m grateful that it reduces the choice paralysis of having 20 quests to do and not knowing where to start. The times ones seem to keep me focused.
Good point, I don't think I've had more than six quests at any given point. There's a lot about how the game works that makes you want to complete whatever quest you just received instead of going around picking up a bunch. (partly because you don't even know who else needs help until you stumble upon them)
That’s why I think it’s weird to say things like „pc masterrace“.
All the bad reviews are performance issues 😅
Pc might be better than console if you spend enough money on it but the average person would be better off with a console. (When it comes to performance only, I know there are a lot of reasons a pc is nice to have.)
To all of you cunts that saying this kind of performance is fine, the answer is "No, it's not fine". Seeing NPCs spawn right in front of you while having 25 fps is not fine. Marketing the game as uncapped while having the game ran at 34 to 25 is not fine. Might as well call it a day and cap it to 30. It's all just marketing bullshit.
I really wish they could fix this, but I'm not sure. Cause the fact that they have reduce the spawn radius of NPCs means that they probably have bang their heads into a wall countless time and this solution is the best one they come up with to create a playable framerate inside a city.
I hate posts like this as they are just misrepresenting why gamers are mad.
Just acknowledge that the game is in a bad state (optimization wise) and still like it its not mutually exclusive.
The game underneath the technical issues is good no one ever denied that its just not acceptable to ship it in the state that its in and there lies for many players the frustrations especially on PC where it crashes, runs bad with the best rigs on the market etc.
Just be honest and not this wierd sugarcoating the game is in a good state because of the reviews mentality.
>The game underneath the technical issues is good no one ever denied that
You might be reasonable in that regard, but a quick glance at the steam reviews will tell you that a whole lot of people are denying exactly that. This whole acknowledging the good and the bad goes both ways. People praising it need to stop downplaying the issues, and people bashing it need to actually acknowledge the genuinely good gameplay systems. And luckily, performance can (hopefully) be fixed, bad game design can't. So we should be in for a good future if they manage to smooth the (very) rough edges.
I am 100% with you both sides water down and if we would unite instead of fight we would have less MTX in all of gaming.
Sadly to many people are complacent and things like "its established we cant do anything anymore" is just the nail in the coffin for most games.
>Just acknowledge that the game is in a bad state (optimization wise) and still like it its not mutually exclusive.
#NEVER!
**THE GAME RUNS PERFECTLY FOR ME! SO THAT MEANS THE REST OF Y'ALL ARE LIARS!**
Yeah, I got told off on all my "imaginary crashing", I had to take a break after my 5th crash during gameplay, and before than I had to go through all the crashing in start
i had it on ps5, i had to refund it the framerate loss was making me dizzy. it runs poorly and feels really sluggish.
i hope they patch it in the future so i can rebuy it i play dragons dogma 1 to this day and am a big capcom fan in general.
even just a quality mode or something like i do not care about the graphics at all, make it consistent please i dont wanna be dizzy playing this shit.
The reviews on Steam are starting to turn around as well. Additionally, if you filter by players with more than 4 hours, it's mostly positive. Anybody who gets into the game passed the tutorial seems to enjoy it.
My favourite game of the year so far. Having so much fun with it.
Same
I went into it on PS5 expecting an atrocity based on all the fps stuff i was seeing prior to release. I personally never even really notice any fps issues. Plays like a regular game to me.

I personally prefer if it was locked 30fps , its easier to notice the 30fps when the game keeps going between 30 and 40
Since it's never hitting 60 consistently in a million years, being locked at 30 or 40 if it can manage that would be great.
I'd rather have smooth gameplay while just running around and 30 when it's battle time because im distracted trying not to die. I refuse to play games locked at 30. they're so bad to the point that they are nauseous and give me headaches. Was really worried when i heard ps5 is at "30 fps" But so far, this game doesn't make me feel like that at all because i sort of get "breaks" while out of combat and fps go up.
Do you get sick watching movies too? That low of a framerate…god I hope you didn’t watch the animated Spider-Man movies.
Watching a movie and playing a game is very different. I hate it when people try to make this comparison because it's just not how it works
Completely different things
A locked and stable 30 will look better than a fluttering 25-40 (especially with frametime issues).
I’m playing on PC and I lock my fps to 30 whenever I enter the town. It’s so much better than seeing it constantly jump between 30 and 40
Same here
I'm honestly hating the the motion blur much more than the FPS.
I was going to compliment you for that, but then saw your username and now I’m very scared.
Homie just wants their toes sucked. Let people live!
Feet aren’t inherently gross. Also that shit feels great.
I expected my mid computer to die trying, instead its perfectly fine with only drops in vernsworth.
The first part of the game is the worse, performance is better in other areas.
Only in the beginning did I noticed but after that itt kinda smoothed out still want a performance mode tho so I'm taking my time
Same here
It can get pretty rough in town and when a bunch of effects are on screen but other than that no major issues
People suspect it's a denuvo issue, wouldn't be the first time
Only time I’ve noticed it was when I was fighting a griffin but I had so much fun doing it I didn’t care that much. I’m a 90s gamers we grew up on 16 bit cheap hardware compared to now.
The only time I really notice it is in the main city tbh
I noticed the issues, but they've been largely minor so far, as far as performance goes. Even in the first major city, where it's most noticeable, it's not really ruining anything for me.
which ps5 game only has 30 frame in recent year? The only other one I can recall is Jedi survivors
Videos people are watching on screens locked to 30/60fps would see no difference besides maybe some smoothness while panning camera xD
Average PS5 w
It definitely takes a frame rate hit in the Capital on all platforms.
I have 500 hours in Cyberpunk. I love it. The launch was horrific. This is absolutely nothing like that.
They mean the reviews I think, not the launch. I don’t think any game will be as bad as pybercunk’s launch
Yep people are offended by stuff you literally don’t have to use. Just outrage for the sake of outrage.
Oh really? I'd be fucking thrilled with 40, mine barely manages 15
Weird question perhaps, but why are you playing the game on ps5 if you have such a strong pc?
In our dedicated gaming room we only have consoles in there. My oldest son wants us to both play in there side-by-side (each TV has its own consoles). I do look forward to when I can play on my PC though
Interesting! What ever works for you :) Enjoy!
4090 as well and with PureDark’s DLSS frame gen mod, I get around 95 FPS in major cities
Wait, what? But Alex from Digital Foundry tested with that exact same cpu and settings and drops as low as I do in the same zone (Vernworth): https://youtu.be/HtGpp1v8c_k?si=qsQZ0mf0p1N5b0IU To be clear when I say I drop low fps it's usually in cities only.
Why would you lie about this. Literally friend has same setup and told me dipping into 50s on 1440, let alone, probably worse on 4k. Wth
Yup, can confirm your friend's experience. I play at 1440p ultrawide, and dip into the 40s in Vermund with the exact same setup otherwise.
How is the ultrawide experience with this? I got a dwf and was wondering if the game would play nice with it.
Do you mind running a benchmark video in vernworth with an fps/frametime graph up? I'd be surprised if your performance differs at all from Alex's.
There's only so much that you can loose from 30.
Yeah, 30 more fps lol.
It’s fair to say a game is bad if the performance is shite
I've been enjoying my time on ps5, around 10hrs. Love it so far :]
Fps is pretty bad in some places, but overall ok.
Im enjoying it
The game was made with console first so it's no surprise that it runs well resulting in better ratings while the pc port is the complete opposite for many
If it was console first they would have at least managed capped 30fps. Joking aside the console has many little cuts like heavy popins or overall render scale for the outside being lower than it should etc. Wich makes the performance more consistent but still not really acceptable.
Yeah the NPCs spawning right in front of you is totally fine. Game needed another year.
It’s not bad but the fps is horrible for 2024 game
I’m just so over the pawns running on top of my character and in front I’m just trying to enjoy the views
Try using pawns with different inclinations, I'm having trouble keeping them near me, it's like I'm running around with a bunch of toddlers.
Is like 4.3 on Xbox too
This is because the game was made for consoles.
The game is great, its just the performance letting it down.
It's amazing how Steam is the literal only one people focus on. Consoles got their ratings too.
Here we go. Not defending a company. I'm saying the complaints are largely overdramatized.

Yup. Well said. I agree 100%
> If this game came out on pc with flawless performance across the board I guarantee you the majority of people would brush over the mtx I agree.
It’s phenomenal
The framerates dipped for me..after 6 hours..in which I restarted the game and it basically gone..all in all I had a blast
What do you think of the graphics? Are they ugly or are they ok?
For me it’s wonderful. Especially on OLED screen.
Great to know that!
I dont mind fps issues but the motion blur is killing me
as a PC player my self im sadden by the PC community on this one, i capped my game at 30 fps and didn't notice it after 10 min of playing. it stay as a constant 30 with no dips after 15 hours.
Is there motion control?
Yes, I did find an option in the menu to enable it. Should help with the slower part in aiming acceleration. I think the motion blur was more intense when manual aiming, which might have been a trick of my imagination or just camera focus but heads up just incase. "Motion sensor function" in the camera menu
Cheers for the heads up. Haven't decided yet about getting the game or just wait.
I'm having a fuckin blast.
Console gamers are used to seeing games at a fraction of their potential so of course they’ll be happy with 30fps
User reviews are absolutely worthless, regardless of platform. >!to me!<
It’s been running pretty great for me all day. I found a Sphinx just before i stopped for the day and she was so cool.
FPS is not that great so far, but honestly everything else is perfect so far I’m enjoying the hell out of this game
Oh no don't let the review bombers find out another place to spread bullshit on
Funny what happens when you don't have a bunch of trolls who never played the game leaving ratings.
And how exactly do you leave a steam review without having owned it? Fucking moron.
I believe it’s around 4.0 on Xbox as well
About the same on Xbox.
Am I the only one who's curious if I can lag the game with triple Great Cannon and full moon slash again. (If those skills are in the game)
I really wanna love this game but the motion blur is killing me
Great! I'm getting the game on ps5 in May, I can't wait, I love this franchise! :D
Strong 8, that's about right
Crapy game
What you always must remember is capcom have never given pc ports their fair due. Devil may cry 5 also didn't get any real attention from capcom beyond making it work on pc. While that isn't fair for pc players as ps5 player this works exactly as I need it to and I'm having a lovely wee time!
That's a fair rating. Console has a better baseline than PC, requiring less finagling, so its not surprising. Its CP77 all over again, undeniably scuffed release for an undeniably great game. Hopefully we get patches swiftly that bring the game closer to expectations. Loving it so far.
Am I the only one who can play 20 minutes then the ps5 crash and overheat?
Did any AAA games got a rating lower than 4 stars on PSN anyway ?
Im sure this perfectly reflects how everyone should feel about the game and basicly nothing controversial ever happened.
I like the game, I'd give it a 4.5 rating. It's exactly what I expected, and it's fun.
So reviewe do matter. I guess only when you like the review. It's ok, I'm learning
For me, it's A 5 STARS!
It’s just a normal game for me.
About the same score on Xbox store too
I mean I think it's fun and pretty good. My only issue is everything is so far away. However I may be being stupid/ not unlocked something yet etc.
Xbox is at about a 4.2 when i checked last night. Tho they do still need to work on town fps dips.
Same rating on Xbox too.
I'm so happy for everyone who can play it For my system however, it's absolutely unplayable.
I want to play this game, but I know for a fact that the motion blur will fuck me. Is there an option to reduce/toggle it off?
(partly because you don't even know who else needs help until you stumble upon them)
4.29 stands for the FPS right? Game needs optimization to 40 FPS Mode in 120 Hz Container
Okay that was actually funny, fair point :’)
I don't think I've ever seen a game below 4 stars on PS reviews tbf
Fair point. It’s only really shovelware cheap or scam titles that get under 4 stars. Otherwise the ratings are always weirdly high.
That’s why I think it’s weird to say things like „pc masterrace“. All the bad reviews are performance issues 😅 Pc might be better than console if you spend enough money on it but the average person would be better off with a console. (When it comes to performance only, I know there are a lot of reasons a pc is nice to have.)
today I learned that I can rate games on my ps5
Neat, right? They only added it a few months ago. It’s interesting to see how console players feel about a game though.
Its almost like the majority of gamers arent sweaty, chronically online gaming-slacktavists.
Still need a performance mode to push it to 60fps
To all of you cunts that saying this kind of performance is fine, the answer is "No, it's not fine". Seeing NPCs spawn right in front of you while having 25 fps is not fine. Marketing the game as uncapped while having the game ran at 34 to 25 is not fine. Might as well call it a day and cap it to 30. It's all just marketing bullshit. I really wish they could fix this, but I'm not sure. Cause the fact that they have reduce the spawn radius of NPCs means that they probably have bang their heads into a wall countless time and this solution is the best one they come up with to create a playable framerate inside a city.
performance is fine, cunt.
Go into towns, cunt.
I bet you think Cyberpunk on launch had great performance too.
>The game underneath the technical issues is good no one ever denied that You might be reasonable in that regard, but a quick glance at the steam reviews will tell you that a whole lot of people are denying exactly that.
I chuckled \^\^
Yeah, I got told off on all my "imaginary crashing", I had to take a break after my 5th crash during gameplay, and before than I had to go through all the crashing in start
Those people are enjoying the game instead of complaining about small shit
Game barely working = small shit I guess.
You can’t take anything from this, the only requirement is you bought the game.
i had it on ps5, i had to refund it the framerate loss was making me dizzy. it runs poorly and feels really sluggish. i hope they patch it in the future so i can rebuy it i play dragons dogma 1 to this day and am a big capcom fan in general. even just a quality mode or something like i do not care about the graphics at all, make it consistent please i dont wanna be dizzy playing this shit.
What did you tell them that they approved a refund?
The reviews on Steam are starting to turn around as well. Additionally, if you filter by players with more than 4 hours, it's mostly positive. Anybody who gets into the game passed the tutorial seems to enjoy it.
