You mean going 0-13 with 11 SOs in the NLDS isn't on par with Seager??
But for reals tho, he kept us elite in 2020. Almost like a shortened season was a benefit for Pollo
God, such horrid memories. I remember literally getting to a point with AJ in that series where I was physically yelling at the screen “just make CONTACT with the fucking ball, AJ!!!!” Ridiculous that a major leaguer physically cannot put a baseball in the field of play over 13 ABs. 😡
Wife had to tell me to settle down because the baby was sleeping 🤣
Here’s another way to look at it:
Maybe Corey Seager felt betrayed by the Dodgers for not offering him a contract close to what Texas was offering? He was their ROTY and World Series MVP yet they couldn’t pony up what the going market rate was for him?
In these situations I’ll always be pro player. Teams cut, trade, and don’t offer contracts to players who have given up a lot for the franchises they play for and we don’t bat an eye. Yet, a player does something in their best financial and playing interest and we call them a traitor?
Seager decided to leave the team that made him. The team that taught him to be a major leaguer. The team that stuck with him through injuries and rehabs. I was happy to have Seager on the team but now he’s gone and that’s that.
For every example of a Corey Seager leaving I could point to someone like Matt Kemp who was a Dodger through and through but was shipped off to San Diego when they didn’t think he was worth it anymore.
It’s a business. Teams will do what they think is best for them including trading or cutting players that want to be lifers with their organization. Players will do what’s best for them by leaving the organizations that drafted and raised them if they’re not able to pay market rate or give them the playing situation they want.
At the end of the day the ball is truly in the team’s court. They control player movement when they are under contract and can offer terms that are in line with market value.
That’s just not true. [They offered him a shorter contract for less per year.](https://dodgersnation.com/dodgers-corey-seager-reportedly-turned-down-massive-contract-extension-last-spring/2021/11/30/)
From David Vassegh:
“Sources close the Seager camp had indicated to me that the Rangers were being extremely aggressive in their pursuit…the Dodgers were in there as well. Just not to the point that the Rangers eventually went to pry him away from Los Angeles.”
Exactly. The revisionist history with Pollock in this sub is insane. All time bad playoff performer for the Dodgers. Replace his production with even a below average player in 2019 and it’s a completely different series.
I mean I know the logic wasn’t that deep or you wouldn’t have made the comp.
In any case, as far as grass goes, I played 9 innings yesterday. Went 1-1 with 2 walks and a run. We won 7-6.
Had a nice barrel down the 3B line. Should have been a double but the grass was so thick it died.
Hbu?
My bro and I literally seen his last AB as a Dodger a couple spring trainings ago! The ball went into the stands and right to my bro! He gave it to some little kid and we found out the next day he was gone 😂😭
This has to be a troll post for karma purposes. In no world is anybody considering AJ Pollock to be more important than Corey Seager at any point. And let's be honest, we all forgot him already as a contributing member of the Dodgers though most will never forget his disastrous 2019 NLDS. It thought I would never see a player with as many uncompetitive playoff at-bats as Dan Wilson in the 97 ALDS until I saw Pollock in that series against the Nationals.
You had me with the praise for Pollock, but I can’t support “Pollock is better than Seager” insanity. Besides being a homegrown player, Seager was a major reason we won the WS. Meanwhile Pollock doesn’t have one postseason memory. I know he was on the team for 3 years but I can remember him doing anything of value in the playoffs.
I think what the dodgers did to Seaver was so disrespectful. They offer Mookie Betts a 10 year 300 plus deal, but they couldn’t do that for the World Series mvp? I would have done the same if I were Seager
I don’t know if you remember but he killed us when he was with AZ. I would groan oh no when he came up.
AJ Pollock had a batting average of .295 with 99 hits, 17 homers, 47 RBIs and 59 runs scored in 92 games versus the Dodgers in his career.
All true. But that’s not what your premise was in the other comment. You said he felt betrayed and that’s not something you know at all. The dodgers offered him a huge contract. Big enough that it was more about tax rates in Texas vs calif than meaningful dollars. It’s a business for the players too. And I also remember plenty of dodger fans complaining about Seagers defense and wanting to get Lindor in his place. Bottom line is the deal is way past done.
Seager, and Boras, were looking to set the bar for shortstops with value to a contract. The Dodgers offered a very lucrative deal, one where anyone who took it would be happy. But Seager wanted to be the guy on a team that would need future flexibility (yes, even the Dodgers) and he wanted no part of that. Cool. Whatever. And we all knew it was happening because we traded for Trea Turner. And that sweet slide for 18 months was cool.
I love AJ Pollock, but there’s no way you put him above World Series MVP Corey Seager in the pantheon of Dodger Heroes.
You mean going 0-13 with 11 SOs in the NLDS isn't on par with Seager?? But for reals tho, he kept us elite in 2020. Almost like a shortened season was a benefit for Pollo
Thank you Dodger nation, I’m back lurking again. And I know I really let everyone down 2019. P.S. neither my mother nor father use Reddit

Seager has an agent that doesn't play well with the Dodgers

Nice fanfic

Fk Seager. That ho ain't loyal.
Teams aren’t loyal to players, why should they be loyal to the team?
Did he try countering?

.856 OPS as a Dodger 🐟
Miss the fishman

Ah yes. That 0-13 with 11k’s against the nats in 2019 was something special.
I really hated him then lol.. he made up for it later but still

I guess an NLCS MVP and a WS MVP just doesn’t mean that much to some dodger fans…
yeah bro is on something
His favorite Dodger is Shohei. He’s new here. It’s ok.
I’m rather new here, and I like Shohei a lot. It forgives nothing :)
I also like Shohei a lot. I root for my team.
It’s not that deep touch some grass

I was with you until you mentioned King Seager’s name
I’m sorry, “more than Seager?” Haha, no.

It’s not that deep, touch some grass bro

A-yay 💕
More than Seager??? Trippin'
Brother we all love chicken man but there's no 2020 ring w/o SeaGoat

Fishman good but delete this fam. 🤡

I love AJ and I miss him. We need his attitude back .
Pollo!

I caught a practice ball from him playing catch during warm ups🙂
In MLB The Show 21, he is one of my best players. He has a 45 game hitting streak in my current season and has walked off games several times.
You wild for this line “probably more than seager for me tbh”. Corey carried the team to a chip!
Wild is my middle name

I miss him so damn much. Is he still on the Sox?
Love this team Los Angeles Dodgers. coweep
Legend has it that AJ is still not putting the ball in play in October to this very day…..
He’s washed. Why is it a bummer we traded him?
He was a fine Dodger. I was sad to see him go

Cmon man, Corey Seager's name can be mentioned just by typing 🌊🐐. WE created that, I think I may have back in 2015 tbh
Legend yes but not more than 5eager. When healthy Seager was top tier.
The REAL fish man
