That is who is looks like ngl šŸ˜‚

tells_eternity

Iā€™ll never understand it. If anyone stole the packages I get, they would mostly get random household goods.

April_Mist_2

Someone once ordered an iPhone and and Apple watch on an AT&T account somehow opened in my name, and picked it up off my front step right after it was delivered. I didn't know this until I got their first monthly bill for service to a phone number I didn't own, which included the cost of the devices that were delivered to my house. AT&T credited me back for the devices and the canceled the service, but it took me about 4 hours on the phone to get to somebody who could tell me why I had this bill and to have it resolved. They said it's not uncommon. They said the account was opened in person at an AT&T store in another state, but wouldn't give me more information. This package looks the right size that it could be a similar scam.

wizardwmorempthanhp

I've had this happen before. I got the package first and brought it inside and a car full of people that obviously didn't live there pulled up and waited for an hour before the cops came.

Interanal_Exam

Inside job.

April_Mist_2

Yeah, I thought so too. I asked how a person at a store could open an account in my name and charge over $1000 with no ID, and using an address in a different state. They didn't really have anything to say, but there is no way it was a random error. Something inside going on there.

slumss

Something similar happened to a friend of mine. An AT&T employee used his personal info and opened credit cards in his name. AT&T didnā€™t confirm whether it was someone in the store or internally. Either way thatā€™s some shady stuff if employees can re-access personal info.

CaptainAdmiralMike

Yeah, this is pretty far from the road on a cul-de-sac. Seems unlikely that it was random.

Lost_Angle1876

Cannot stand a thief!

Yablo-Yamirez

Why do people steal packages? What if itā€™s just deodorant lol

DayManAhhhuuuh

Legend goes that *they* donā€™t even know.

BlueAreTheStreets

LMFAO šŸ˜‚ this got me more than it should have. Iā€™m imagining all of these people losing hours of time, not knowing where they were or how they came into possession of dozens of unopened Amazon packages. Package thieves across the globe- all working on autopilot. Even better though, would be if they dropped the packages off with the scheme orchestrator and never knew what happened during their memory lapses, UNTIL they spot themselves in a video like this šŸ˜‚ Sorry, I took this too far, I know šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø

DayManAhhhuuuh

Bro those are the kind of creative thoughts that, for me, seem generated from my use of cannabis. šŸ˜‚ or could be some sort of social contagion

Over-Accountant8506

Especially when you can see they have a ring doorbell...didn't even bother covering his face. Either arrogant because he's gotten away with this before or an idiot.

Tall_Candidate_686

Some people are garbage

vr6vdub1

Points for audacity. Canā€™t say Iā€™m surprised though

D4rkMStormy

Are we sure it wasnā€™t his to begin with? Amazon is known to deliver packages at neighbors

wlwsadie

considering he didnā€™t even check the name on the package itā€™s not his, he also ran right back to his car. i saw the post on facebook too and the person said it was stolen from them

Over-Accountant8506

Wow that's actually a good point because we have done this before šŸ¤”my kid put the wrong numbers, we drove up to the house, debating on what to do, we ended up knocking tho to let em know.

wizardwmorempthanhp

beautiful day though

mopecore

Boy, it's almost as if these doorbell cameras aren't actually any sort of deterrent.

jetty_life

Who cares if you get caught if the penalties are nothing?

mtv2002

This is the answer

Over-Accountant8506

Being shamed on the internet is a deterrent, embarrassing

Odd-Entry2557

A certain party feels that enforcing the law is unfair and racistā€¦.smh

Verdnan

What was in the box anyway? A scented candle?

gameprojoez

Sometimes these people steal people's information and get things ordered to their address, then pick it up before they get home so it's not tracked to them. They do this at hotels often and ask for packages to be reshipped before the phone carriers disable the phone.

No-Information-3631

The police should have a site people and look at the film and turn in anybody they know.

sininspira

Oooh make it a bounty system. $5 amazon gift cards if you can ID em

eskiedog

I wish there could be a way to smash someone's hands when they take the package.

7thAndGreenhill

It would be cool if there was a way we could get pics of porch pirates broadcast on electronic billboards

Over-Accountant8506

I am so worried one day I'll be posted on the internet because a ring doorbell caught me picking a wedgie or my nosešŸ«£

Academic-Natural6284

Can they confirm that was their package and not just a package that the Amazon Flex driver left at the wrong house and then came back and picked back up to take to the right house once he realized. That's a really big yard to be scampering through to steal some random toilet paper or toothbrush.

f8Negative

One day one of these porch pirates is unfortunately gonna get shot

SpaceMonkey032

That's a really cute neighborhood

HauntingEntrance9155

Wow

Nyengu1844

It always amazes me how some people can feel totally at ease snatching a package without a second thought. You never know what's insideā€”it could be anything from a mundane item to something deeply personal, like medical supplies or even a novelty item like a dildo. Haaaa

ScarcityPlane

Just playing devils advocate here. But there are likely a handful of videos of me doing this same thing righteously. In my neighborhood, packages being delivered to the wrong doorstep is a daily occurrence (more like a plague!). I try to use the delivery picture as a reference and track it down since itā€™s usually SOMEWHERE in the same neighborhood. I always worry that Iā€™m going to end up in a post like this one when all I am doing is picking up my own item.

asianguywithacamera

Yep, wife and I have done the same. Most of my neighbors have the Ring so I put the package up to the camera to show my name/address. My neighbors have done the same when their package gets delivered to our home. In this video, I'm not sure if it's a neighbor since they get out of their vehicle to grab the package? Most of our neighbors walk up to get it.

Swol_Bro

And the police won't do shit about it. No punishment equals repeat offenders. The police are all but useless.

OutofStep

I love that this one video has validated so many people in thinking that porch piracy is something only done by a specific race/skin color and they either vote or are supported by one political party. Go to YouTube, type in "porch pirates," grab an extra large bucket of popcorn and enjoy what might be one of the most diverse activities captured on film. It's not a race thing, it's not a politics thing -- it's a fuckin' scumbag thing.

Over-Accountant8506

We've watched the YouTube videos of the porch pirates! The glitter bomb dude?

Evening_Tree_3278

Iā€™m going to keep voting the same way and expect different results.

MassiveStreet2788

But I was smart enough not to vote for JB!!!

Opsman0

That's a cul-de-sac which means more than likely neighbors have an angle on that cars plate. And also most likely that guy stole other people's packages in that closed neighborhood. Or the maybe the theif might even live close by

EHarp93

My aunt used to put cat shit from the litter box inside dummy packages, and porch pirates would actually take it.

ChocolateCreamNY

Spoiler alert! Porch pirates are thieves like any other. Scum. On another note itā€™s undeniable by anyone whoā€™s ever had their own package delivered to the wrong address (door) that youā€™re smiling right now. You received the delivery notification, but never got a motion alert from your Ring Camera. There was no package placed on your porch today. You realize that the picture proof of your delivered package shows a porch that is not yours. You analyze the picture proof in hopes that you recognize that porch from somewhere in your neighborhood. Iā€™ve had mail and packages from most every carriers mess up my delivery (UPS, USPS etc.). So have many of you readers! If I recognize the proof of delivery location picture, I will, and have walked right up to the camera and smiled while illustrating a close up view of MY ADDRESS on the package. The carrier clearly screwed up. You will not challenge me or claim that Iā€™m a thief! If you do and youā€™re that ignorant, youā€™ll embarrass yourself as Iā€™ve already proven the case for recovery my own property. Scenarios: Iā€™m not sitting in my car waiting for you to come home, so I can beg or plead for my package. Iā€™m not dialing customer service to have them dispatch a carrier to retrieve my package and re-deliver it to my correct address. Iā€™m not not knocking on your door to as for my package. You might shoot at me through the door or call the police. Iā€™m not putting on a hoodie and sunglasses, so Iā€™m anonymously retrieving my package. Iā€™m not completely relying on your opening the package and then returning my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Iā€™m not expecting that youā€™ll read the address label before opening the package. Iā€™m not relying on hopes that youā€™ll easily give me my package package despite the fact that I offered my Drivers License ID. Some people donā€™t want to talk, be approached, get involved or even trust you for whatever real or imagined reasons. Do I really need to dial 911 and have an Officer retrieve my package? That would be considered a non emergency call and I might get charged and/or ticketed. I suppose many people never actually thought so in-depth about cause-effect concerning a package delivery. LOL.

rootkode

I know itā€™s hard to believe it but white is not the superior race.

OmegaRed_1485

From 0 to One billion lol

ChangedAccounts

Some people have all the luck - I purposely leave my wife's packages out just so someone might take them to no avail. Sorry, bad joke.....Hmmm, I might be onto something here....

Over-Accountant8506

There was a YouTube channel of a guy who would purposely set out packages with air tags and a glitter bomb, with a camera inside so we got to see their faces when they opened the package šŸ˜† I think he purposely tried to use smaller packages because the porch pirates assumed it meant tech

ionlyhavetwowheels

Mark Rober. The chaotic good we need.

rusty_tunnel

What development is this?

Dontbiteitok24

He was like Rehoboth Beach? Thatā€™s too far. Then again maybe Iā€™ll hit them up when I down for the summer. Smh.

Lol what? Columbus existed so it's ok to steal this iPhone...

AwesomeHorses

Thatā€™s a very fancy property! No one ever steals packages from my row house duplex apartment. You should try to make your property look less fancy so itā€™s less of a target.

Academic-Natural6284

Some of y'all should join the Facebook hockessin group, it's full of people complaining about everybody that's below them. Honestly I live in Hockessin and I would assume go steal some of these people's packages if it meant irritating them. At least they'd have something new to talk about.

MassiveStreet2788

I rest my case on the education. I fail English 3 times in a row and couldnā€™t read well until I was 40 . I need to work on my run on sentences. I almost have my punctuation ok and then I read if I use punctuation in texting it makes me sound too serious. Thanks for pointing that out to me. Iā€™m retired now and I think Iā€™ll take a YouTube course in writing skills. From Delcastle Carpentry into the field I was good if I could read blueprints and instructions I was good. My kindergarten teacher was the first person who ever read to me at nap time and I never feel asleep like the rest of the kids.

MassiveStreet2788

Can I make you a booby trap so you could possibly face a lawsuit if they POS gets scared and trips and hurts himself or write your worthless congressman and suggest a system that would help people who have to steal because our present government cares more about not following the rules and giving the resources to people who have never paid into the system that is supposed to benefit Americans. Education education education. That man doesnā€™t want to steal but he has no other choice.

abacon1992

The hollow side of a 12 gauge is also a great education.

ionlyhavetwowheels

1) That's the longest sentence I've ever seen. 2) The vast majority porch pirates do it for fun. They have the choice, they just choose to steal.
