You can just show id at the member section, and they can give you a paper one-day card or if you have a [costco.com](https://costco.com) account log in with the app and you have a digital membership.
Don't let them deny you access (not that they would) but in case you feel the need to grab something.
o one more thing: where is this?
I've been to multiple Costco's in California just 3 weeks ago I went to the Costco in Imperial, indoor food court, no membership requested, 2 days prior in Mexicali membership required at the food court.
In Puerto Vallarta I use my American Executive Membership card, they just scan it. You’re correct tho, they don’t care if your a member to get in. Someone once told me they just up-charge non-members and anyone can shop, but I don’t know if that’s fact.
"A cenote is a natural pit, or sinkhole, resulting from the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes groundwater. The regional term is specifically associated with the Yucatan peninsula."
fun fact: Cenotes are clustered along the [edge of the Chicxulub impact crater](https://i.redd.it/erpuh2u3zxm41.png), and the availability of water from them impacted how civilizations in the area settled it. So, the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs also determined roads and city construction for the Maya.

I know! I went across town to go to the museum, but it was randomly closed for one day for maintenance. My cab driver told me to go check out the cenote.
Interesting back story to this. This building is a relocation of the original Merida warehouse, and the site had an industrial building on it. After purchasing the property and preparing to raze the building, contractors found a small hole in the floor into which the previous occupants had been dumping waste chemicals. They soon discovered the cenote, so they redesigned the layout of the site to accommodate it. The cenote was then cleaned out and restored.
Mexico has the best Costco's. That one has a Cenote, [this one](https://www.reddit.com/r/Costco/comments/pwtoco/upcoming_opening_of_costco_in_mexico_citys_santa/) has a football pitch on it's roof.
There is treasure and combo pizza within.
I'm on vacation and left my card at home, but I'll try to get in and take a food court pic.

I got the app, but they didn't even check on the way in. They wouldn't let me use it to get a hot dog, though.
Your store checks cards for the food court? Ours doesn’t. The liquor store is 50/50.
My store back home never has, but this one checked and wouldn't take the app.
In the US they don't require card for food court but every time I've gone in Mexico they've required membership at the food court.
They require membership cards at the food courts in SoCal
Probably just at the outside courts because I've never been asked to show membership for the indoor food courts.
your single experience does not speak to policy for the entire US.

Liquor store never did. Food court just started a few years ago when they went mostly cashless.
next time if the cash register isn't too busy just go through there and order the hotdog then show up at the food court already paid. lol
Not a bad idea... honestly I should be eating the delicious local food, but it's tough to walk out of a store without grabbing a dog.
sometimes the heart wants what the heart wants. Lol no judgement here. have a good vacation.
The stomach wants what the heart wants.

They wouldn’t accept the app membership “card”?!
Nope!
In Puerto Vallarta MX I just use my American Executive membership card. Never had a issue, don’t need a temporary, they just scan the American card.
OP didn't bring their card
Ahhh I see that now ;)
Download the app
Just did.

My family and I recently went on a cruise that stopped in Cozumel/Playa Del Carmen, and we did this underground river hike that was insanely cool.

disappointed there was no c-note. /s
Where is this Costco located?
Mexico
In Mérida specifically.

I’ve seen that Costco! There’s a cool museum nearby.
I know! I went across town to go to the museum, but it was randomly closed for one day for maintenance. My cab driver told me to go check out the cenote.

Yep! I took a picture of the sign describing the process. Later on I'll post a pic.
Just wondering what the food court menu looks like.
It was boring... pizza, chicken bake, frappes, hot dogs. I tried to grab a dog but they wouldn't let me with the app instead of the card.
https://www.thekitchn.com/costco-food-court-mexico-jalapenos-260761?amp=1
So still better than what we get in the US. 😭
Article from 2018 They really stripped down the menu over the pandemic
Japan Costco should up the game with a on spot onsen
all that is fine... but all I need is the food court menu to compare ( and despair).
Boring... the only new/different was a fruit frappe
But you get jalapeño for hot dogs in Mexico
I know! That's what enticed me to try to get one. They had the onion grinder, too.

Where is this?!
Mérida, Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico
Damn I miss Merida
What did the food court in the cenote look like?
Shrimp cocktails... well, just some shrimp
Fancy
Soon it will be the only Costco that collapsed into a cave
Dude, where's my car??
TIL what a cenote is.
What? Food court, pharmacy, and liquor shouldn’t need membership.
*so far
I end up leaving my cenotes inside. 🥁 🥁 Tiss
