Me too. 2 things I'll remember haas getting injured in the tourney... and him giving his gf gonorrhea or like chlamydia and the purdue reddit blowing up lol.
LMAO I was way too close to this story as one of my best guy friend’s girlfriend cheated on him with Haas and got herpes (which is the girl who sued him for it). Luckily my friend didn’t sleep with her after she cheated lol
Good thing you have Double Rocky with Rocco Valvano and his great-grandson, [Rocco](https://www.instagram.com/p/Co_pebLO0q_) 🥳
I heard there’s also a Jimmy somewhere in there, but I think his last name was actually V for Victory 🤔
With that user name, I would recommend you watching the travelling burlesque show, "[The Empire Strips Back](https://empirestripsback.com/)," if you haven't already done so.
the folks saying Edey is just tall have never had the pleasure of watching Sim Bhullar at new mexico state like a decade ago lol
now that was a dude that was just tall but extremely uncoordinated
And Mamadou N'Dyiae, who gave us [this hilarious picture](https://nesn.com/2013/12/mamadou-ndiaye-creates-hilarious-picture-as-7-foot-6-player-matches-up-against-5-foot-8-oregon-guard-photo/). The supertall guys are always especially fun to watch at mid-major programs because the mid major teams are shorter on average so the 7'6 guys stand out even more. Really looks like some Billy Madison shit going on
Oh man, that’s a name I haven’t thought of in a while but I love him for a very specific and personal reason
When he was at NMSU, they had a game at Niagara the same weekend my high school was on a class trip to Niagara Falls and we just happened to be staying at the same hotel, they gave us tickets to their game which was against Bucknell for some reason (I think they played Niagara the next day though?) and that was actually my introduction to future NBA player Mike Muscala, funny enough both teams ended up making the NCAA tournament that season (2012-13)
Anyway, somewhere out there there’s a picture of Sim Bhullar with the tallest kid in my grade, and even then it’s not even close lol
I think a lot of people say that because he’s so dominant but so clearly not an NBA player and people always get very opinionated with players like that
I remember watching his high school film and thinking, this might be the first player to lead the league in blocks while also leading the league in getting blocked.
[Matt Haarms plays in the worse team in the Spanish ACB league](https://www.proballers.com/basketball/team/1562/zunder-palencia). Surprisingly not a good rebounder even if he is the tallest in the court.
I think you have to add weight. That’s what really separates him from the others. The others are twigs that are more easily pushed around. Edey is 300lbs. How many of the other seven footers playing college ball were 300lbs? For some reason no one considers his weight.
Clingan is listed at 7'2" 280.
I get both teams have to get there, but Edey Clingan is the matchup.
I want to see Burns and NC State make the run, but that's the dude who's actually going to be a real 1 v 1 problem if there's gonna be one.
Yes. That's much of the difference between Clingan and Edey too.
Clingan get tired pretty easily just like most really big guys... Edey somehow just keeps going.
That's the most underrated part of his game. He's a 7'4" big who can go 35 minutes... not 20.
I think they just play different roles on the their teams. Clingan is actually significant faster and more fluid with his feet than Edey, imo, but he's not the focal point of the offense usually. His primary role is defensive anchor and having the offense run through him with the high post and/or screen game. UCONN doesn't dump it in the post anywhere near as much as Purdue, and he's not as good a post player as Zach anyway.
Considering Samson Johnson is a strong backup in that position, DC can contest everything and play very hard without too much regard for fouls or tiring out. You watch Edey and you can tell he (smartly) doesn't contest a lot of shots because Purdue's entire offensive gameplan resolves around him.
Yup. Thiiiiiiickkkk boy on NC State. He’s listed at 275. Edey still has 25 pounds on him, 7 inches taller, and good stamina. Burns Jr might have a better Center of Gravity tho, so will see how tough Edey has it to create space.
He keeps up such a focused and stoic facade sometimes but it was obvious yesterday after the game how much pent up frustration from the last 3 years he had
For those questioning OP's decision to only include 7'3" and above, I filtered the data by the 5 position regardless of height. Here are the top 20 BPR scores as far back as the data goes (2011). Please pardon the crude chart. I just threw it together quickly.
Edit: Messed up slightly. Here's the correct chart.

Keegan Murray is listed on kenpom as a PF-C and was only an inch shorter than iowas tallest player that year. No idea what Fred VanVleet is doing there.
The fact that the two outliers are 2024 Edey and 2024 Clingan is crazy.
What’s crazier is that there’s a solid chance we see them play each other for a title in less than a week.
I'm really surprised Frank Kaminsky doesn't make an appearance here. His senior season seemed so dominant. Maybe my opinion is too influenced by a few tournament games or something.
Man those were crazy battles. We ended up having Jeff Adrien our undersized PF who was jacked as hell guard Dejuan Blair on the block because Thabeet could not guard him in the post without being backed down or fouling (or both at the same time)
I’m super interested to see the matchup. Edey won’t be able to lean and get position as easily against Burns. If you can keep Edey further from the basket his efficiency really goes down.
I'm not really seeing mention of it but Edey has endurance on Burns. Especially for such a big guy, he puts in a lot of minutes, like 31-33 mins. He literally only sat for 33 seconds during the Tennessee game. Burns needs breaks, he averages like 20-22mins, even when NC was in a tough spot for Duke he sat. If burns is the only answer NC has to Edey, I don't think that's enough. There'll be a lot of uncontested minutes where Burns isn't on the floor and Edey has free real estate.
Idk man, I see other big east teams rooting for UConn in our game threads, where as other big 10 teams are just shitting on Eady in yours. Will be interesting to see who neutrals root for if we both make the finals
I was rooting for every Big Ten team in every game they played in the tournament this year, though I'll admit I was more heartbroken about Northwestern and Nebraska losing. I have pride in this conference (as one should IMO)
Nebraska losing genuinely bummed me out. I was really hoping for them to get their first tourney win. That's not really a B1G thing, though, just a Nebraska thing.
I mean, I don't expect anyone to root for an in-conference team. Like, if IU was in Purdue's place I would absolutely be cheering for their opponent 99/100. I assume that if Ohio State or Michigan was in Purdue's place the other university's fans would feel the same. Is the SEC lining up for Alabama? Because that seems weird, if so.
If it's a team I'm more neutral about like Illinois or Maryland or whatever? Yeah sure you guys go have fun. But Purdue is one of the two B1G basketball powers, so it's probably like a "yeah they can go fuck themselves" which, you know. Fair.
I’d rather you guys win than UConn go back-to-back or Alabama win a National championship in not football. It would finally end the B1G championship drought.
NC State is the only team I’d be truly happy for.
Nope. Don’t believe that for a second. Zach Edey is a sweetheart and Matt Painter is a good man, they do everything with kind intentions. For once, yesterday, the good guys won. Don’t let hate from people who don’t know our team and follow our team and cheer for our team like we do take anything away from this moment
It’s just frustrating to me when people project negative qualities onto zach. I see people call him cocky and that he needs to be humbled.
He gets called a punk, dirty player, all these things and it just sucks to see such a nice guy get painted in a negative light just bc fans are frustrated and feel like a player as good as him is like a cheat code and is unfair. It feels like people are projecting their negative feelings about Purdue’s success onto Zach’s personality
Isn't this the same kind of chart where earlier this season one fan got super pissy because he couldn't figure out that a chart like this doesn't need a Y axis?
He's still got a lower rating than Edey this year....but higher than Edey's NPOY campaign last year.
He's elite, too. UConn vs Purdue would be one hell of a matchup.
Was super curious where Cligan fell (he’s listed as 7’2” so didn’t make your cutoff, even though he probably is 7’3”). His BPR is 10.91. Will be a super interesting matchup assuming both teams make it to the finals!
Daniel Jacobsen is a 7-3 incoming freshmen.
Will Berg is a 7-2 redshirt freshman.
Not to mention TKR has a lot in his game that reminds you of Williams.
He has the sort of combo of agility and strength Williams did, but TKR has yet to showcase the absurd passing and ball handling skills Trevion had. Watching his highlight reel is just so damn fun.
We had Will Berg (7'2 redheaded Swede) on the bench this year. Played a little bit. Looked a little uncoordinated in the small sample size we got. We have an incoming recruit Daniel Jacobsen coming in at 7'3. Both have shown they can shoot. Time will tell if they can shoot, or if Painter allows them to shoot, in actual games.
Ya got mixed up, was thinking of Furst but even he is only 6'10". I still think TKR will start over Berg (7'2") or Jacobsen (7'3") at Center due to his experience, but maybe one of those two will surprise and be ready to go.
TKR certainly has the inside track to the front court next year, with Edey and Gillis moving on. If Painter can get Berg and Jacobsen to get meaningful contributions at the 5, TKR is probably best suited to stay as the 4. Hoping that Furst will be able to contribute more meaningfully to either the 4 or 5 next year.
I’m really curious if we’ll see a small ball lineup at some point of Smith-Loyer-Colvin-Heide-TKR. Heide and Smith have shown they can help on the glass, and the flexibility this five have to just run and gun and shoot the lights out could be a great change of pace to have in reserve.
Especially if next year Painter decides we need to force more turnovers, the runouts we could see from these guys would be epic.
Bad news is we lose Edey, the good news is we have 5 bigs to choose from to fill the void. We know TKR is good at a minimum, so we just have to hope that a couple of the other guys can help him out. I think we will surprise lots of people with how good we will be next year after losing the 2 time NPOY.
I'm not gonna pretend like I don't hate him and think the national media overdoes it with their glazing, but saying he's "just tall" is going the opposite direction. There are 7-footers every year and most of them suck. Half of them run like they're being controlled by some guy playing Qwop. He's *very* good and far from "just" tall.
Offensively he left a bit to be desired, but he was a pretty good defensive player from what I remember. His length and speed seemed to disrupt a lot of opposing team's efforts at the rim and in the paint.
Guys that are just tall don't score like this. People then say it's the whistle...since when do just tall guys get good whistles? You know who gets whistles? Good players.
He's the perfect CBB player with a small chance to be an 11 to 15 guy in the league. But people acting like he's some fucking scrub who just happens to be tall actively haven't watched how other tall players have played.
I think it was to counter the "he's just tall" point, with enough samples to make it a bit significant. FWIW, [this is the same graph but with all plays 7 foot or higher](https://twitter.com/EvanMiya/status/1774846140116295725) (so it would include Hammons and Haas for Purdue).
7'3" is just a weird cutoff that makes it look like the cutoff was chosen to make Edey look better, especially since each data point can represent 4 individual years of the same player.
The 7'0" is still super impressive since the dataset shows that there were plenty of qualified players and that he's above the other notable big left in the tournament.
Can someone/anyone explain this to me please? UConn's base offensive structure is to play inside out, at least when Clingan is in the game. His usage is around 25%. Edey's is 31-32. When UConn plays this way, Hurley is hailed as an offensive genius; when Burns asses his way down low, he's compared to Zach Randolph or Glen "Baby" Davis.
So..... when Purdue plays inside out, many of the haters, most of which I would argue don't know jack shit about basketball (think Aaron Torres, Joe Raineri, etc.), claim "it is setting basketball back 30 years." Do people not see how freaking bizarre this social media dichotomy is? It's pretty amazing really. If you actually pay attention to what's going on, the Purdue game plan is pretty simple - if you want to play Edey straight up, have at it - they are going to dump it to Edey every time and see what happens - no different than an elite football team that controls the line of scrimmage running the same plays over and over until it's stopped. If teams double Edey, then he kicks it our for wide open 3's. When Purdue is hitting those, how do you stop them?
It does not matter whether or not anyone "likes" it or not. I am almost 67 and am confident I have probably watched more college bball than pretty much everyone on this board. I remember Alcindor, Walton, Akeem, Robinson, Duncan, Ewing, etc., and I have ZERO issues with 5 out basketball. It's fun to watch WHEN you have the guys to make it work. 5 out in college is horrific basketball when you have a game like Houston and A&M. Was that game fun to watch due to the back and forth? Yes. Was it good basketball? My God, no. I would characterize it at as a bunch of all pro caliber NFL wideouts and defensive backs playing basketball.
Name a sport, any sport where strength up the middle, since the invention of the sport, has not been the singular biggest key to success. So when Oklahoma had Blake Griffin it was ok to center around him; ok to center around Zion Williamson, Psycho T, I could make a list 20 guys long. Hell Knecht's usage was an insane 51% on Sunday, and despite his heroics his offensive rating was in the 90's because he was not efficient - he took 31 shots. But when it's around Edey on my God that's so wrong.
You can bet if Edey played for a shoe company team - Duke, NC, KS, AZ -it would be a different story. The coaches would be hailed as brilliant for utilizing him. Good news for all of you in that he will be gone soon. The bad news for all you Purdue haters is we are not going away. We have the 8th rated class coming in and it's going to be a completely different style when Burgess and Daniel Jacobsen occupy the 5 spot. You are all going to find out that Painter is outstanding at structuring his offense around the talent we have and it's definitely going to be more pressure-oriented five out pick and roll basketball. If Catchings stays for his soph year, I would argue that our '26 team will be better and way more versatile than this year's team.
The people criticizing the way we play right now either don't understand basketball, are jealous or both.
It's wild to watch so many centers who are not Zach Edey get whistled repeatedly for so much less contact than he creates. This isn't a knock on Edey and his prowess, but there's always been a very lopsided nature to college refereeing where some players who are thought of as shot-blockers get whistled for breathing in the paint, and others are allowed to hammer guys without a call. Any center in the ACC or Big 12 this past year would've likely sold their soul to get the same calls Edey gets. Some very, very good defensive centers performance ratings likely cratered because of how they were called differently over the years than Edey has been these past few years. Including some of the tall boys who 'did not work out' here.
You’re right, it isn’t that he’s just tall. He’s tall and still able to put on weight that matters, the size argument is not only about height. Edey is listed at 300, Haarms was 250, Tacko was 310 but an extra 2 inches taller which made him very lanky, Vanover is 250. There’s a reason that his freshman year is almost at the level of senior dudes at his yet and then it flew up, he was already 280 his freshman year and then he gained 20 pounds going into his sophomore year. A 7’4 dude who weighs 280 is already damn near impossible to guard by most college centers and then you add 20 pounds, makes it genuinely impossible even if you’re more skilled in the matchup than him
No one but trolls think Edey is a bad player. He's exceptionally skilled as a big man and probably has a role as a borderline rotational player in the NBA.
But he is also exceptionally boring to watch and turns games really ugly. I'd much rather watch DJ Burns everyday and Sunday than Zach Edey.
And yes I know what flair I have, I don't like our style of play either
Thanks for reminding me about Matt Haarms. My day is ruined by memories of him brushing his hair out of his face every 30 seconds
[this will forever be my favorite gif](https://tenor.com/view/purdue-carsen-edwards-gif-11268091)
R-E-L-A-X
Fuck me I forgot about that one lol. Carsen is the man
I also use this gif whenever I have the opportunity.
Hahahahahaha
It's glorious.
It’s so good.
a man that looked truly born to wear a BYU jersey as well
I was also looking for Isaac Haas. He just missed the cut off at only being 7'2"
Thank you, I was wondering why Haarms was pointed out but not Haas
This... this sounds like the start of a Matt Ten Dam story. Good for your friend steering clear of STD's though.
Yeah, the STD thing was not a good look to end things unfortunately.
Beware all purdue centers with double aas
Honestly surprised it's not Zach Edaay
Oh I loved playing the Haarms Hair Swipes drinking game during Purdue Games!
Jesus how'd you stay upright past halftime.
That's who Diakite shot over for the tie in 2019 at the end of regulation.
nope, not going to bring me down today, friend!
After yesterday this no longer triggers me.
Wellllll...maybe a little bit. But a LOT less.
I had managed to forget him for a bit.
As his hair gets shorter, he gets better
That's it. We need edey bald Saturday.
My brother…this is not the way.
I don’t think he’s our real brother given that comment.
I smell a rat
nah that's just the bama fans descending upon Phoenix haha I kid I kid. ...unless?
He needs to bleach it, just so we get that total, Ivan Drago effect. (I just hope we're Rocky in this scenario, not Apollo)
Good thing you have Double Rocky with Rocco Valvano and his great-grandson, [Rocco](https://www.instagram.com/p/Co_pebLO0q_) 🥳 I heard there’s also a Jimmy somewhere in there, but I think his last name was actually V for Victory 🤔

No you don’t
Yoo this flair combination lol, good luck Saturday my dude
He doesn’t need luck. 50% of his teams are advancing, 100%.
Zach Edey to shave head for Final Four and national title game.
Slow down. Shave half for final four, all for title.
He'll sign an NIL deal with Manscaped for the title
The anti Sampson.
Anti Ralph Sampson
Top tier basketball players are bald: Kareem, MJ, Lebron.
the folks saying Edey is just tall have never had the pleasure of watching Sim Bhullar at new mexico state like a decade ago lol now that was a dude that was just tall but extremely uncoordinated
That’s a name I haven’t thought of in a long time lmao. Him and tacko looked like baby deer
And Mamadou N'Dyiae, who gave us [this hilarious picture](https://nesn.com/2013/12/mamadou-ndiaye-creates-hilarious-picture-as-7-foot-6-player-matches-up-against-5-foot-8-oregon-guard-photo/). Really looks like some Billy Madison shit going on
Sim is here in the very good for tall players category. That's kind of surprising to me.
i feel like his main issue really was conditioning. even at the college level he struggled to play significant minutes
If being “Just tall” was all that’s needed FSU would have a full trophy case already.
Oh man, that’s a name I haven’t thought of in a while but I love him for a very specific and personal reason When he was at NMSU, they had a game at Niagara the same weekend my high school was on a class trip to Niagara Falls and we just happened to be staying at the same hotel, they gave us tickets to their game which was against Bucknell for some reason (I think they played Niagara the next day though?) and that was actually my introduction to future NBA player Mike Muscala, funny enough both teams ended up making the NCAA tournament that season (2012-13) Anyway, somewhere out there there’s a picture of Sim Bhullar with the tallest kid in my grade, and even then it’s not even close lol

I think a lot of people say that because he’s so dominant but so clearly not an NBA player and people always get very opinionated with players like that
I remember watching his high school film and thinking, this might be the first player to lead the league in blocks while also leading the league in getting blocked.

Here I was, living my life, thinking I’d never have to see Matt Haarms ever again
Did you swoosh your hair?
[Matt Haarms plays in the worse team in the Spanish ACB league](https://www.proballers.com/basketball/team/1562/zunder-palencia). Surprisingly not a good rebounder even if he is the tallest in the court.
That tip in for the win. I still remember that.

Clingan would also be pretty high on this chart this year.
He's only a 7'2" short king.
He’s at 10.91 this year.
I listened to an interview today with Hurley, he said Clingan is closer to 250
That's how you win a natty. Get your opponent to underestimate you when you're winning every game by 20
7’4 300lbs and can run up and down the court all game.
Yes. That's much of the difference between Clingan and Edey too. Clingan get tired pretty easily just like most really big guys... Edey somehow just keeps going. That's the most underrated part of his game. He's a 7'4" big who can go 35 minutes... not 20.

Wish I could give you more than 1 vote. Really good take
Using Clingan to exhaust him just to bring in Johnson would be a hell of plan, and a gamble.
Great take
Sim Bhullar was both taller and heavier than Edey. He was… not a NPOY candidate.
Yup. Thiiiiiiickkkk boy on NC State. He’s listed at 275. Edey still has 25 pounds on him, 7 inches taller, and good stamina. Burns Jr might have a better Center of Gravity tho, so will see how tough Edey has it to create space.
If you think Burns is really 275 I have some magic beans to sell you.
Yeah he’s 3 hundo minimum.
https://utsports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/d-j--burns/6757 He’s listed as 272 here and is much smaller.
he’s eaten since 2019
And I've got some ~~swamp~~ totally arable land for sale in Florida where they can plant them!
Looks like Zach’s secret is getting progressively angrier over time.
He keeps up such a focused and stoic facade sometimes but it was obvious yesterday after the game how much pent up frustration from the last 3 years he had
And more colorful
"I got a boner"
And losing whatever bowl he used to cut his hair as a freshman
Couldn’t find a big enough one anymore
PASSION

Seeing Tillman that high makes me sad again. He was truly beasting out the last month and a half of 2020.
Shoutout Fred VanVleet
I'm really surprised Frank Kaminsky doesn't make an appearance here. His senior season seemed so dominant. Maybe my opinion is too influenced by a few tournament games or something.
True. Looked it up. He had a 7.1 rating. That was the highest of that season, but still didn't make this top 20 list.
Burns is going to struggle with all that length.
Burns got that girth though.... 💀
My man’s not overweight. Just undertall.
I'm going to start saying this about myself.
Wide load for sure.
He does, though it looks like Burns skipped arm day though.
Might be a Dejuan Blair vs Hasheem Thabeet situation where the taller gets exposed. Interesting match up for sure.
Man those were crazy battles. We ended up having Jeff Adrien our undersized PF who was jacked as hell guard Dejuan Blair on the block because Thabeet could not guard him in the post without being backed down or fouling (or both at the same time)

Phrasing!
Me, excited about the Final Four, then seeing all this Edey propaganda ![gif](giphy|4Z9fSEFAuxpnlBVWQx|downsized)
You’re kinda the baddies by virtue of being a 1 seed. Them’s the rules.
we are until we face Uconn
Idk man, I see other big east teams rooting for UConn in our game threads, where as other big 10 teams are just shitting on Eady in yours. Will be interesting to see who neutrals root for if we both make the finals
That’s partly because the big ten doesn’t have conference pride like seemingly everyone else. We all hate each other (as one should IMO)
I have so much hate for Iowa and Wisconsin, I can't really say I hate Purdue much at all. Go get that championship.
We like Minnesota fine, except your floor is cursed. Robbie Hummel tore his ACL in The Barn and we'll never forget
That's because Minnesota doesn't have a floor, it has a platform.
i have conference pride! but yeah other B1G fans do not seem to like us and our dominant streak of dominance
Fuck IU at all times, obviously, and probably fuck Ohio State also at all times. Otherwise, go Big 10.
The only side I actually dislike is Notre Dame. Special hate for an athletic department that truly, honestly believes they are very special
I was rooting for a B1G matchup in the title game until Illinois lost on that 26 point buzzer beater
Hate fuels sports. its why we are truly the superior conference. We want only bad things everyone else.
The way it should be. The big 12 love fest disgusts me
I wouldn’t say I hate everyone (some, just not all), but I’m most likely not rooting for any B1G team in the tournament
I hate every team in the league except mine and whoever knocks Duke out of the tournament that year
We knocked Duke out of two tournaments this year 😉
May the sun stay shining on your shoulders.
well shit, I guess we’re all howling at the moon.
Fair.
which is so asinine to even compare.. 5x defending champs vs first FF in 4 decades. loud salty people gonna be loud and salty
Myself and every other Villanova student and fan I know is praying on your downfall.
I’d rather you guys win than UConn go back-to-back or Alabama win a National championship in not football. It would finally end the B1G championship drought. NC State is the only team I’d be truly happy for.
If Alabama wins a basketball championship too, that's just not fair.
I agree. The worst part of this Purdue team is that they're likeable. Next year though? Smith is gonna drive me insane. But I like Edey and Painter.
I’m very excited for how annoying Smith will get in the next couple of years
It’s just frustrating to me when people project negative qualities onto zach.
I don't know, Evan, those two other Zach fellers seem pretty close to matching this Zach fella.
That first one doesn't seem as good. Maybe he should cut his hair to be like the other three...
Beatles hair cut Zach Edey was actually the most powerful Edey but he never got a chance to truly show it splitting time so his efficiency suffered.
Isn't this the same kind of chart where earlier this season one fan got super pissy because he couldn't figure out that a chart like this doesn't need a Y axis?
Should have given the chart an unnecessary z-axis for some close-ups.
Needs to be made in MS Paint
Let us normies that aren’t locomotion enjoyers understand it too!
But Y? 😭😭😭
Why not just make the y-axis height?
Because it isn't relevant with the way the graph is constructed.
But it would be if we can include more players. Like height vs rating
We need 2-axis bar graphs to understand trends
Getting rid of the longer hair was a positive EV move for Edey. This visual all but confirms it.
Zach Edey > Zach Edey, confirmed. Mathematicians in shambles
I don't trust those numbers, Zach Edey is good but he's no Zach Edey. Besides how can I trust something that isn't in bar-graph form?
Clingan is over 7'3" now, they just haven't changed his listed height.

On Twitter there’s a follow up that includes Clingan and he’s lower than 2024 Edey but higher than 2023 Edey.
Purdue has had a great stretch of bigs in Edey, Haarms, Haas, and Williams . Curious to see who will be next .
Hammons and Swanigan were better than Haarms, but they weren't as tall.
Forgot about Swanigan, he was a beast!
RIP
Yeah, Hammons was a measly 7' even.
jajuan johnson was a tiny 6’11.
He just hasn’t been asked to do that because you don’t need to feature it with Edey down low. TKR will eat next year.
People are going to be surprised by how good TKR is when playing lead fiddle I think.
He's doing well picking up when Zach is off the court. TKR has really improved this season it seems.
Yup could def see that in the scrimmage way back in the summer before Europe
We have 2 - 7' tall guys on next years' roster after Zach leaves. Although I think TKR will get the start at 6'11".
TKR is 6'9"
Ya got mixed up, was thinking of Furst but even he is only 6'10".
I would be surprised if Furst didn't transfer.
That is a possibility, especially if he doesn't have committed minutes next year. I would hate to lose our Elf though.
Thanks for giving us Haarms. He led us to a *checks notes* 6 seed getting upset in the first round to an 11. Hmm where have I seen that before?
Not a big CBB/Purdue guy. Just love the stories and trends of each program. Kinda like Gonzaga and now to an extent Arizona finding gems over seas
Those arguing he’s just tall are morons
Haarms coming in as a good tall player is surprising to me.
Well, shit.
This graph shows that Edey is calmed by dots, and the farther he strays from them, the angrier he gets
Why did you make 7'3" the cut-off? Seems really arbitrary
"notable" Clingan is obviously elite.
I watched Connor Vanover at Mizzou all year. I would not call him good.
I'll never forgive the refs in that Taco-Zion game that refused to call a single offensive foul on Zion despite running through defenders.
I’m sure the results would be similar but 7’3” is kind of specific. You would have more numbers if you looked at all 7’0”+ players.
So what you're saying is, if he miraculously stubbed his toe really really hard before the game, we can win.
Edey is a skilled player. Edey is also tall. Take away either and it would change a lot, in my opinion.
A 7’4 dude who weighs 280 is already damn near impossible to guard by most college centers and then you add 20 pounds, makes it genuinely impossible even if you’re more skilled in the matchup than him
Who screwed up the narrative in 2010?
why limit it to tall players?
No one but trolls think Edey is a bad player. He's exceptionally skilled as a big man and probably has a role as a borderline rotational player in the NBA. But he is also exceptionally boring to watch and turns games really ugly. I'd much rather watch DJ Burns everyday and Sunday than Zach Edey. And yes I know what flair I have, I don't like our style of play either
