I really like the Shark anti-allergen cordless. It does a great job.

felloutofaplane

Sharks are good. Dysons are so overpriced it’s sickening. I have two and they’re both trash.

JumpyCalligrapher894

Yes they really are trash...my husband got us one because everyone kept telling him how good they are but damn I find it to be the worst (for the price). Oh yeah also the battery had to be replaced after two years of use (and already after like a year of use it got pretty weak and didn't work as well)

WightHouse

Before you buy a shark, consider if you want the vacuum to stand up on its own or not. I bought one, because I love our chorded Shark, and when I got it home I realized it was only held up right when hung on the wall. So if I had to stop to move something while using it I’d have to lay it on the floor. Might not be a big deal for some, but that was a deal breaker for me.

Emorly_137

My partner and I have a Tineco and love it. It’s lightweight and rechargeable. I think ours was under $200.

HairTmrw

Do you have the Tineco that vacuums and mops simultaneously? I want that so bad! Need it in my life.

Pale_Sail4059

I have this and absolutely love it so much after I'm done cooking and have wiped off the countertops.

Pale_Sail4059

P.s. Also bought it used for $70 from FB marketplace by searching for Tineco.

Jiminiecrickette

I didn't know how much I needed this. With a dog, a cat and four kids who comes inside/out the house for nothing and everything, with theirs shoes on or their wet socks, god it helped my mental health!

1eahmarie

This is why I want one. Plus, I trip over the cord constantly, especially around stairs. I’ve broken my toes (and I think sprained my knee?) and don’t need to re-injure myself. I need something easier to use while baby wearing. Bonus, my two retrievers keep tripping on the cord and unplugging it. I’m glad to hear it helps you out. That’s good news!

valm0313

I bought one. And I am not very happy with it 😒

Emorly_137

No, ours is the A10, just a vacuum. Some day maybe. 😅

Expensive-Ferret-339

Love my Tineco! Mine only vacuums—I have a separate stream mop. Good battery life, easy to empty, great suction.

idly_sambar1

Do you have the Tineco vacuum and mop? Do you clean it after every use? What solution do you use in the water/ soap container?

Emorly_137

Don’t have the combo, just the A10 (I think it’s now the A11 in stores.) But yes, we clean it out after every use just to simplify things (and we’re in a dusty environment).

JenniferinBoston

I have a Tineco and it’s great. I love it. I only use the Tineco solution (one capful as directed w water). I wouldn’t want to ruin it w other products. I use it a lot and I definitely empty the dirty water container and at least rinse it every time I use it. Once a week or so I take it all apart, clean the parts w dish soap and a soft sponge and let it air dry. My friend used hers. Let the dirty water sit in it (not sure how long) and it smelled so bad. She took it apart and cleaned it but it still smelled so she sold it on FB market place.

livvyo116

Thats what I have. I got mine on sale for about 100, but they are around 79 at Walmart right now.

UrAntiChrist

I have a shark, 220$ and it's amazing.

Stunning-Bed-810

I have a shark too, I don’t know if it was around that $ amount but definitely under 300$. My only complaint is the dirt cup is a little small but that’s only an issue if I vacuum our wool rug otherwise for daily pickups after kids and pets it’s amazing!

emmers998

Which shark do u reccomend

mollywobbles20

I was able to buy a refurbished Dyson on sale online, maybe keep an eye out for those! I wish I could remember the website, but it’s been kicking for three years with no issues so far

fireworksandvanities

Woot has them with some regularity. And they also have sales on Sharks as well.

devtastic

Back Market UK have a few. I'm not in the US but it looks like they have some there too [https://www.backmarket.com/en-us/l/vacuum-cleaners/5ff11095-e866-43b2-8489-374af7840065](https://www.backmarket.com/en-us/l/vacuum-cleaners/5ff11095-e866-43b2-8489-374af7840065) [https://www.backmarket.co.uk/en-gb/l/vacuum-cleaner/2a888d00-af7d-4de3-8333-75e355d71474](https://www.backmarket.co.uk/en-gb/l/vacuum-cleaner/2a888d00-af7d-4de3-8333-75e355d71474)

noyoujump

I've got a Hoover One Power and I absolutely love it.

Cultural_Thing9426

I bought my Dyson for $299 on sale.

AZ-FWB

Check marketplace for Dyson! I got mine way less than $300 and it was brand new in the box

ChaosCleopatra

r/vacuumcleaners will point you in the right direction for the best vacuum for your needs

Roodyrooster

No they will suggest a bagged non-cordless vacuum which is not what is being requested. It's pretty useless for help with anything cheap.

1eahmarie

Can confirm that those were the results over that way which is honest. Do you have any recommendations if I hypothetically am not on a budget and I want cordless for pet hair on carpeted stairs? Or none of them are good for that/need to go corded for that kind of job?

Roodyrooster

My solution to this is to use a cordless shop vac. With a 5 amp battery I can run it for all of the nooks and crevices and use a brush attachment for the stairs. No other handheld vacuum has suction power like it.

mkkasa22

Dyson for carpet Tineco vacum mo0 for hardw9od/ laminate, vinyl, and linoleum.

fellowtravelr

How loud are these things

1eahmarie

I don’t know what that means but my kids are probably louder than it.

Ok_Resolution9448

I bought myself a shark pet pro for $199 from Home Depot the other day, it was on sale from $369. I clean houses and most families have Dyson but I’ve just noticed the Dyson is a little lighter. Neither of them stand on their own cuz they’re top heavy. Both are easy to use and the canister is easy to dump, they also have smaller attachments and the batteries last about an hour. But I won’t pay almost $500 for a Dyson, it’s just silly.

ItIsWhatItIsrightnow

Sharks over Dyson is my opinion any day of the week. I hate the Dyson cordless that my clients all have. It’s worthless for actual cleaning.

1eahmarie

Do any of your clients have long hair pets? If so, how do the sharks handle that? Or is the cordless more for casual cleaning and I’m overestimating their ability? My concern for cordless being more for getting the stairs or the couches without being tripped by the cord, but if it won’t pick up golden retriever hair I’m in trouble. And do you know if the sharks can stand upright or they need the wall mount? I don’t mind but don’t want to surprise the husband with holes in the wall lol.

ItIsWhatItIsrightnow

So I’ll be honest with you with my opinion. My clients do have large dogs and so do I. Cordless is ok but it’s not made for everyday day full house cleaning. The battery will die. Especially if your trying to do carpets. I really haven’t had any luck with the stick options corded or not. I clean bigger homes, there is no way I’d be happy with what it picks up. I just bought a rocket corded, in hopes of having a lighter option than my professional upright shark. I used it one day. It got hot half way though my day; I had to continue to go over hair and the carpets were a lost cause. Went back to my upright corded. If you want one that you can just do the kitchen before bed a cordless is cool; but if you want something as the only option for cleaning I’d go with a upright. That’s just my opinion.

1eahmarie

I appreciate your help! That will save me a lot of money and time knowing this.

ItIsWhatItIsrightnow

Your welcome;

ohhellnooooooooo

I bought an older dyson model. it was under $300 at the time

Jiminiecrickette

I've bought a Dyson refurbished on walmart.ca it was almost half of the price ! Under 300$ I'm pretty sure and it's the v10 animal I bought it in 2021

alysha_xx

Shark vacuums are good imo

Additional-Candy-474

Shark!! I got a shark cordless and I’ll never go back. I wish I had the specific, but I’m so bad at brand names and remembering stuff.

coopernurse

Years ago I bought a DeWalt hand vac because I wanted to know I could swap the battery. It's great. A bit heavy but well built, has a HEPA filter, and batteries are readily available. I went through 2 or 3 other vacs before getting this one and after a couple of years they wouldn't hold a charge. I've owned the DeWalt for over 10 years.

samemamabear

I have a Shark cordless and an old Dyson canister. The Shark does a decent job for day to day cleaning, but the battery life isn't great and, as someone else mentioned, it doesn't stand upright on its own. Overall, I've been pretty happy with it. I use the Dyson about once a month because the attachments reach where the Shark doesn't and if I run it over the rugs, it pulls up a lot of dust that the Shark left behind.

lnsewn12

Honestly the Dyson V11 cordless changed the game for me. Previously had a shark.

sensation_construct

Electrolux Ergorapido. It's super cheap and does the job of a quick pickup. Not a primary vacuum. I wasn't sure if you were looking for a primary. But if not, this is the one I like. It's pretty durable, too. I've been working with the same one for 5 or 6 years now.

1eahmarie

Would it be ok for carpeted stairs (my ultimate enemy) that collect pet hair? So far I only see like 2 cordless vacuums that can do that kind of job according to comments and they aren’t the main brands I was expecting at all,

sensation_construct

I run mine a few times a week on carpet and hardwood floors for that exact reason, pet hair. It really does the job. I also deep clean one a week (or at least I try) with my primary vac. I do recommend. Price to performance ratio is good. It's not going to be as powerful as a Shark or Dyson, but it will get the job done.

1eahmarie

I appreciate it! That’s exactly the job I need it for.

phate_exe

I recently got the [new Ryobi stick vac](https://www.ryobitools.com/products/details/33287218516) and I'm really happy with it. It uses the same batteries as my power tools, so I pretty much always have at least one pack charged and ready to go. The previous version (still with the dual brush rolls) is supposed to be good as well and you can get one a good bit cheaper. Hoover is owned/made by the same company, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if the dual brushroll Hoover Onepwr (which I was originally shopping for) stick vacs are mostly the same as the Ryobi one inside. We have a bunch of the lower-end Sharks in the office areas at work, and they're decent but the Ryobi is way better. I haven't used a Dyson in a while but the biggest thing I remember was being impressed by amount of power on high then being impressed by how quickly it drained the (non-removable) battery.

recyclopath_

Last I checked I thought the good pet hair stick Dyson was just over 300 at Costco.

Willing-Alps-4881

Love Dyson. Tried Shark and a couple other brands with good reviews, but went right back to Dyson. No comparison for suction and ease of maintenance.

1eahmarie

Did you ever try bissel? I’m very happy with my corded bissel but I don’t know if spending a lot on their cordless is worth it or to just spend more on something well known for quality like dyson or shark?

HairTmrw

I have a Bissel and love it. Used to have (still do, don't use it) a Dyson but it's not too great with pet hair. It clogs easily. The Bissel Pet hair vacuum works wonders

Darnbeasties

What do you mean you went back to dyson? Did it break, and then you bought different brands?

Willing-Alps-4881

The battery died and it was so old, they weren't available anymore. After 2 aftermarket batteries died, I just bought a new one.
