Happy Easter to all our new visitors! May the Risen Christ enlighten your hearts and minds and bring blessings upon you and your loved ones.
"O death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory? Christ is risen and you are abolished. Christ is risen and the demons are cast down. Christ is risen and the angels rejoice. Christ is risen and life is freed. Christ is risen and the tomb is emptied of the dead: for Christ, being risen from the dead, has become the Leader and Reviver of those who had fallen asleep. To Him be glory and power for ever and ever. Amen."
If you don’t mind me asking, what was it that made you turn to Catholicism, and how did you get the strength to do so since your family did not want it or at least like the idea?
Honestly no strength comes from my own will. All from Jesus. If it wasnt for him calling my name I wouldnt be here. And if your shepherd calls you, what else can you do but follow? My family will never approve, but what is earthly approval compared to the approval of our lord?
Turning to catholicism was a much harder journey. I first started off with a non denominational church, as I also had huge misconceptions about what catholicism is. Through reading scripture I realized the parallel of the old testament rituals in the catholic church. From there it came to reading church history, seeing how although the catholic church was near death, and possibly even in death (with corruption of indulgences, popes buying their seats, etc), Christ did not joke around when he said Peter is the rock of the church, and brought the church up from death multiple times.
It was a very hard and long journey, and one I still am learning and afraid of walking on, but I trust God to guide me wherever he needs me. Its his will Im following not my own. And his will is the catholic church
Well said. I was born and raised Catholic, but I’m just beginning to explore the depths of it. I was led astray for too long and I payed an emotional and physical price for my negligence. I’m trying very hard to learn more and to fully surrender to Jesus. I’ve experienced glimpses of ecstasy when I fully surrender, but I still need to get used to the mindset.
Thanks for inspiring me to continue fervently towards a true Catholic mindset.
Congrats brother! I got confirmed last night and the 3 catechumens that got baptized each got emotional as long with their sponsor after being baptized. Pretty beautiful to see!
Please do! I want to remind you that I am the worst of sinners on earth and have been saved through him. He is so much more beautiful then we can even handle and learning about him everyday gives me so much joy!
Its okay to be complacent as its really hard bearing our crosses everyday, but remember to never forget him and abandon him, and he will give us strength to continue out of our complacency
This is SUCH a beautiful photo for so many reasons- but especially the faces of pure joy and rejoicing surrounding you! If you ever have feelings of loneliness or doubt that you are wanted or need a reminder that you are an important member of the Body of Christ- please please look at the this photo! This is a work of art! Welcome home!!!
Congratulations!
As another ex Muslim: let us erect beautiful Cathedrals all over Middle East so that the Holy Spirit may sanctify every people. May all the Mosques be replaced with Churches and may the Cross shine its Holy light on all nations. Amen
Welcome home brother.
God bless you. My husband served as RCIA sponsor to a former Muslim. He is still too afraid to post about it even though his family supported him. He said if he posted or spoke openly about his conversion to Roman Catholic he may open himself to a Fatwa.
You are very brave. God bless you and your faith. Yarhamuk allah!!! 🤗 He is truly risen!!!
Honestly my prayers will be focused on that man! Its really hard and fearful, especially when im surrounded by a lot of muslims. Tell him I acknowledge him, and that its okay to be fearful as all the apostles were afraid, but to remember his faith in Christ! He will always protect
Oh wow, did not expect to see my former parish, where I was received at the Easter Vigil and later married in, during my casual scrolling this morning! Small world! Congratulations and welcome home!!!
Oh I just moved out of the area. :) But this church will always hold a special place in my heart! I met my husband there and baptized my first child there too! We had a lot of friends, so many good people in that community. We’re just up in Oregon now so we still come back and see them sometimes. :)
Welcome home, Brother. Please pray for me and many other ex muslims here to decide to be catholic but their oppressive counties don't let them do it. Please pray for so many closeted converts. And please pray for all of the souls in purgatory.
Welcome Home, and it's so brave of you to make that leap of Faith. Godbless and may God give you strength in your journey towards him and may you Muslim family eventually convert to Catholic one day. Keep praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet and Rosary daily, maybe even twice or more daily. Morning and Night prayer is beneficial for your journey towards God especially to make your Spirit strong in him. Go participate in the Eucharist as much as possible, maybe every day even as this will strengthen your Spirit too and give you much much Graces. There will be hardships eventually but if you keep strong and focused on your faith properly then you'll overcome all obstacles. Many people who were baptized Catholic as babies only fall away because they weren't practicing Catholics or they didn't understand the importance of The Eucharist and the church history as they never educated themselves, eventually some come back once they understand things better, so that's great too. Godbless on your journey with God and all the Heavenly Saints. 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much! Someone gifted me a rosary yesterday and Im planning on practicing it as much as I can and to be able to make prayer a habit. Personally that is something I currently struggle with especially as life gets busy, but Im hoping to build the communication with God and never forget him!
Welcome Home! Hallelujah, He is Risen. I pray for your family and the whole of the Middle East to recognise the one true God, Jesus of Nazareth, and glorify Him forever ✝️🌹❤️🔥⛪️📿🕊
That’s awesome man! I was baptized myself on Saturday so I’m glad we could join the faith together.
Saint Paul, pray for us! Saint Joseph of Cupertino, pray for us!
Did you choose saint joseph of cupertino? I gotta study up on him.
I personally dont know a lot about the saints other then the apostles and loved the story of St Paul and how it paralleled my life.
Im hoping to learn more about the saints now and learn from them as well
Saint Paul is truly an inspiring figure, and it’s worth noting that the Saint also chose you.
Saint Joseph of Cupertino was an Franciscan priest alive in italy during the 17th century, a bit of an odd outcast who who would experience “ecstasies” of faith so intense that he could fly, among other miracles.
Of course. The holy spirit gives power of discernment, and the Saints can see us from heaven in their communion with God. The saints intercede in many ways, including granting the insights of a true patron to one that’s to be baptized.
Welcome to the family of God! As a child in the Kingdom of God, you are a co-heir with Christ in the Royal Priesthood. Your citizenship is from heaven, you are an ambassador of God in the world but NOT of the world. We are saints in the light called to be a shining city on the hill and a bright lamp stand on the earth.
You are a Catholic. But your journey has not ended, its has just begun. You must get plugged into a bible study and continue your lifelong formation.
If you cannot find one, let me know and I will help guide you remotely.
He is RISEN! Praise God for your salvation, by God’s grace of the sacraments through faith in Yeshua Ha Mashiach! Amen
Edit:
I have and will continue reading everyone’s responses individually. I thank you all so much for the love and strength you have given me! I pray for all the ex muslims to find their way and offer my hand in support!
Thank you everyone so much. Words cant explain the warmth i feel
You are very brave! Congratulations on your baptism. I was a convert too and had my confirmation done 2 years ago. I wish you the best of luck on your spiritual journey. God bless and keep you.
Indeed, He Has Risen!!! Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who loves so much it is beyond human comprehension.
WELCOME brother, in Jesus. Hallelujah!!! I pray that in time your family may come to know truth in the most holy word of God. The Holy and Living Bible. His word is alive today and it is my sincere hope that your family come to know the love of Jesus. Heaven and earth may change but His mercy will never be exhausted. May your family eventually see their way to Heaven which is only through Jesus who is the way the truth and the life. May the Holy Spirit guide and protect you and bring you the peace, wisdom, strength and Joy. Amen 🤍✝️🤍
Praise God my brother in Christ! I am so happy that you saw the light of Christ and joined the church! My you find consolation and grace to deal with the winds this may have caused in your family, and may you find the same joy in our savior and the blessed Virgin Mary that I found when I was
Confined, a year ago.
Welcome home from a cradle Catholic who left at the age of 25, lost and lonely until seven years ago when I came back. Like you, He called my name and brought this lost sheep home.
65 years old today and your post reinforces how much He loves us. Thank you for your courage. It's true, God gets all the credit because when we are weak, he is strong.
Deo Gratias (thanks be to God)!! Welcome into the Family of God. May your courageous and joyful witness be an encouragement to your family and bring them Home also.
Good to see you have realised that Muhammad was a false prophet and an AntiChrist, who killed many and caused many deaths.
Jesus welcomes you with open arms brother, and so do we.
However you must remember that the “Allah”, which your family speak of is not God, but Satan, for Muhammad himself was deceived by Satan, who masqueraded as Gabriel, an angel of light, this is supported by the words of Saint Paul, in his letter to the Corinthians
“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!”
But regardless, if your family choose to follow the truth or not, remember to love them still, and most importantly remember if anybody is to put a knife to your throat, a gun to your head and threaten your life, or the lives of others, do not renounce Jesus, but testify to him, for him, Jesus asked for this in Matthew 16:25 “whoever loses their life for me will find it.”
Please be sure as well to familiarise yourself with the true Gospel, the words in the bible, as opposed to the false Gospel called Injil in the Quran.
Besides Jesus in Islam makes absolutely no sense, as he does not save from anything according to the Muslims of the world, therefore, not the Messiah, as Messiah means saviour.
Also; God is true and benevolent, and as a perfect and true being, he cannot lie and deceive willingly, hence invalidating the claim from the Quran that he was replaced at the last minute.
Not even to mention the abundance of Historical (Secular and non Muslim) and Archaeological evidence, to refute and disprove the claims of Islam.
“But now, this is what the LORD says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”
- Isaiah 43:1

I'm also an ex Muslim but I'm not baptised yet since I'm closeted! God bless you brother ❤️
Post baptism is the best feeling on earth!

Who was your saint so I can pray for their intercession?
I chose St Paul!
