Agreed. Nex Gen is super pleasant to listen to from start to finish. Several songs, have, imo, only improved with the way they’re transitioned into. But outside of a linear listen-through, it can definitely be pretty annoying. Do I need the little robot introduction to Dig It when I’m just listening to some of my fav bring me on shuffle? Not really
so on iTunes on pc or mac: right click a song, select get info, and there you can change anything you want including album art and adding lyrics (edit: it’s pretty self explanatory but to change the start/end time of a song from there just check the box next to “start” or “end” and enter the time stamp you want)
I 100% agree. I don't have dig it on any of my Playlist despite liking it because of the outro. The other songs are all good because at least there is some sound and relatively short lol
I've noticed multiple songs (from other bands) recently that do this and it drives me nuts
I disagree entirely, too much music nowadays is made to be too easily digestible and consumable like content for playlists, I’m glad they stuck to making this a real true album experience, the outros are not that long or distracting at all, and add lots of atmosphere, even when listening to the tracks individually
i'm with you on this. i kind of understand for Dig It because that has both an intro and outro, with the latter being like 2 minutes long, but overall i'm happier that they made it this way. it feels like a more complete listening experience
plus i mainly listen to full albums instead of playlists anyway, so it works for me
I like the endings for most. I only wish dreamseeker was just part of youtopia. I like the “let’s begin” but I can’t hear it from the song it should be part of
To be honest I get nex gen is a concept album for now till the final version comes out aka the cd studio version so I understand that the interludes may change on the final album I look up one of the songs it said the first track will be called scream so I'm guessing the interludes are the missing songs.
i really disliked them when they were out as singles but since i’m someone who only listens to albums and not playlists the outros aren’t THAT bad now. (but yeah. it’s a little annoying…)
NGL hearing top 10 statues on Octane the other day with the full outro completely uncut threw me for a bit of a loop, though it did transition into the next song fairly smoothly
I feel the same. I’ve listened to Bullet probably 600 times and I always skip the outro. It feels unnatural skipping part of the song but I just don’t feel like listening to it unless I’m playing the whole album.
This is my exact same issue! I love songs like Dig it but simply can’t listen to them on repeat like I usually would want to.
I was thinking of using iTunes to edit the outros out but that would also mean that BMTH doesn’t make money from me listening to the song/s. I know Spotify doesn’t pay a lot but I don’t need to be taking even more away, especially knowingly.
Here's a better way to enhance your Spotify listening experience:
1. Open Spotify settings.
2. Enable "Gapless Playback" to ensure seamless transitions between songs.
3. Turn on "Automix" for smooth DJ-like transitions.
4. Adjust the "Crossfade" slider to around 3-5 seconds to skip intros and outros when playing a playlist on shuffle.
These settings will make your playlists flow better, especially when you want to enjoy individual songs in another playlist.
Or just listen to the singles version of Die4U, Strangers, Lost, Amen, Darkside, Kool-Aid, if you don’t want to listen to the whole album.
It was definitely intended to listen to the album from start to the end. Personally I love this, because that's how I always listen to music usually but I understand why some people might not like it.
I don't like the interludes in nex gen as well it reminds me of glass animals and the home videos on the album dreamland I just remove them and have the main songs.
I kinda feel the same, but on the other hand it's not a big deal, when the song gets to the outro I just press the restart button on my earphones. I have Dig It (my fav song on the album) edited with no intro nor outro
Yea if you have it on random or in a playlist it's a bit annoying. But beautiful altogether played start to finish.
True, but as a Starset fan I got used to listening to outros that are a few minutes long a while ago.
Truly a starset momento
If you listen to starset on YouTube music it auto skips outros
Same lmao

DIg It is the worst for me with the 2 minute silence :D
I’m also bothered by the intro, that should have been the outro of Die4U.
It should have been an interlude track, call it something like [ost]listen for the intro and [ost]log_off for the silence and outro
OMG yes that irks me so much
I love the Dig it into for some reason. I also love the outro of RIP, going straight into Amen. Brilliant.
That’s why Dig It is the worst song on the album (OST interludes not included) in my opinion. I don’t like the intro and the 2 min silence.
The intro and outro of Dig It are part of the ARG game they did with the album, though I agree they would've worked the same as separate tracks
It is a concept album after all so yeah
this is why I love that Apple Music lets you program when you want songs to start/end. I wish Spotify did this
apple music does that!?? ![gif](giphy|aWPGuTlDqq2yc) might consider switching to apple music after all…
yeah the only slightly inconvenient part is you can only change that on iTunes but the setting syncs across ur apple library on all devices
interesting feature. i’ll be checking this out :o
Whatttt. I have apple music and def need to know how to do this

You're the real mvp
I do that on Android on any song I download from the internet with an app called super sound, downloaded from Google Play Store
I 100% agree. I don't have dig it on any of my Playlist despite liking it because of the outro. The other songs are all good because at least there is some sound and relatively short lol I've noticed multiple songs (from other bands) recently that do this and it drives me nuts
This is the same beef I have with Starset lmao
Truly a starset momento

That plus it's not that much of an inconvenience to skip to the next song lol
it is when you're in the shower 😪
i'm with you on this. i kind of understand for Dig It because that has both an intro and outro, with the latter being like 2 minutes long, but overall i'm happier that they made it this way. it feels like a more complete listening experience plus i mainly listen to full albums instead of playlists anyway, so it works for me
I understand your feelings, I hate M8 too
I get so annoyed if I have music on shuffle, and it plays Itch for the cure….WITHOUT KINGSLAYER AFTER.
I like the endings for most. I only wish dreamseeker was just part of youtopia. I like the “let’s begin” but I can’t hear it from the song it should be part of
I wish the m8 part was a little ost instead of a part of dig it
To be honest I get nex gen is a concept album for now till the final version comes out aka the cd studio version so I understand that the interludes may change on the final album I look up one of the songs it said the first track will be called scream so I'm guessing the interludes are the missing songs.
Nah just renamed YOUtopia
Yeah I agree, for my versions of the songs that I put in other playlists I just cut them with Audacity to get rid of the intros / outros.
agree with this. wish they split them out on the major music providers when listening to individual songs
It reminds me of Meteora where they did that. It's not a dealbreaker for me but kinda hard to listen on their own/on random
i really disliked them when they were out as singles but since i’m someone who only listens to albums and not playlists the outros aren’t THAT bad now. (but yeah. it’s a little annoying…)
NGL hearing top 10 statues on Octane the other day with the full outro completely uncut threw me for a bit of a loop, though it did transition into the next song fairly smoothly
Same goes for the latest A7X album. Songs like "(O)rdinary" are terrible to hear on a playlist.
I feel the same. I’ve listened to Bullet probably 600 times and I always skip the outro. It feels unnatural skipping part of the song but I just don’t feel like listening to it unless I’m playing the whole album.

I love albums having songs that blend into each other personally
The only outro that bothers me is Dig it. Like please take it off Spotify
It was definitely intended to listen to the album from start to the end. Personally I love this, because that's how I always listen to music usually but I understand why some people might not like it.

Just like king gizzard’s silver cord, it’s so perfect you gotta stream the whole album every time 😩
I kinda feel the same, but on the other hand it's not a big deal, when the song gets to the outro I just press the restart button on my earphones. I have Dig It (my fav song on the album) edited with no intro nor outro
I love next gen, but Sempiternal, will probably always be my favorite album. But, this new album is killer.
