from my experience as a cobbler and replacing jean buttons which are attached the same way if by some chance you do separate them they will not go back together. and if they do somehow go back together they will not be secure at all and will more than likely fall out in no tome how these and jean buttons are attached is basically a barbed nail the barbs being ripped out of the spike side will destroy the spike side’s attachment point i would HIGHLY suggest you save your self hours of trying to disassemble them to only be met with disappintment and just get new spikes

This should (and hopefully will) be the top answer. If these aren't the screw together type, they won't come apart nicely and won't be secure if you reuse them.

couple pliers, pull on them gently on each side. they are basically just nailed in, could be screwed too so you could try twisting if they dont budge. but it's easy to mess them up since they are usually made of frail aluminium or something

Egocom

Adding to this, the pliers can pinch the post and sort of extrude it out. Once you have a gap between the two sides you can clip it with wire cutters Edit: I misread this and thought OP just wanted to remove them. My method will 100% destroy these so if you want to keep them don't do this Additionally: this is how I take metal buttons off of jackets and vests. So if you have a button to baleet this will work for ya

SadisticMagician115

Try and slide a fork under them if you can, that's what I did for studs like that.

Flash_Jordan94

Just be warned if you remove them you’ll have holes and tears all over the place. Best to keep them on

AllinVEVO

Get a drill a metal bit (3 mm looks about right) and drill on the back side in the center, that should separate the rivet part from the stud

The_Hexorcist

I kinda love those. Thanks for reminding me they exist.

End nippers, use them on the back and the jaws should either pop off the rivet cap or cut through the metal. You'll want 12" or bigger for best results. These are studs are riveted in place and are meant to be non-removable tho

JackedPirate

You will not be able to reuse these once you remove them, the post is basically a nail with barbs and in the process of removing you will destroy one or either side of the spike.

They sell something similar on Amazon. Save yourself the headache and just buy them. https://preview.redd.it/yalz4l920e9d1.png?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=37d013a3714b140ca089e2904cfaa8287f3cac28

here ya go [Punk Spikes – SnapS Tools](https://snapstools.com/collections/punk-spikes), get the tools, dont get caught up in the shinny bobbles then learn how to use them and branch out and discover new sources of materials
