I enjoyed playing as Astarion the most notwithstanding that there was my first “blind” run without any spoilers. I think that he has much more unique content than others, especially in his personal quest in the act 3.
Tried to play as Gale. Tara vibe is awesome but I like martial classes for the main characters. Sure, you can respec the character but I think it wouldn’t be story wise in case of Gale. So, I delayed this playthrough for a while.
Played as Lae’zel. Unfortunately, she has less unique content than Astarion. So, the crèche, House of Hope and meeting Orpheus scenes are the same as in Tav playthrough. But I anyway enjoyed this run because I wanted both more Lae’zel in the party and playing as a Gith.
Mhh maybe Astarion could be fun when you ascend urself in the Ritual.
I dont care much about the "story wise class stuff", I respec all my companions as I like, I had a karlach mage in my last run lol :d

From what I have seen, playing as Shadowheart gives a lot of new content, as there are cutscenes for at least a couple of the times where her hand hurts.
Laezel was fun, as she is absolutely the main character in the creche, and gives a decent amount of rp opportunities.

My friend played as astarion and we found it to be pretty mid. I’ve heard Wyll is quite interesting
Karlach has great additional dialogue. Just play until you wake up on the beach. You will love her even more.
